It landed right under Bai Jiawei's feet.

Li Yuyan gasped and took a step back, and Bai Jiawei furrowed his eyebrows when he saw what it was.

Li Huiran's eyes widened in shock and her mouth fell open. Bai Jiawei slowly lifted his head up to look at Li Huiran, and when their eyes met, Li Huiran looked away guiltily.

He Xinyan took a deep breath and sighed, obviously not surprised.

Li Yuyan gulped and took a step forward, bending down slightly. However, Bai Jiawei noticed and he flung his arm back, pushing Li Yuyan away aggressively.

Bai Jiawei then bent down himself and slowly picked up the bag of blood. His hands were stained with the red liquid, and he took a look at his hands.

His eyes slowly moved up to look at Li Huiran, and he was about to say something when there was a knock at the door.

A man wearing a doctor outfit stood at the door, and he cleared his throat, "Excuse me. Where is the patient?"

He Xinyan noticed two nurses behind him carrying a stretcher.

Bai Jiawei scoffed, "Patient? Which patient would put a blood transfusion bag underneath their clothes?!"

Bai Jiawei threw the bag at Li Huiran, who took a step back in shock.

Li Huiran quickly lunged forward and grabbed onto Bai Jiawei's hands, "Jiawei! Jiawei, it's not what you think!"

Bai Jiawei pushed Li Huiran away and looked up at Doctor Jin, "Mr. Jin, will you please check her? Check how the child. . . inside her stomach is doing?"

From behind him, Li Yuyan slowly walked towards Li Huiran.

However, when she was a few steps away, Bai Jiawei suddenly raised his arm and screamed, "If you dare go forward one more step!"

Li Yuyan gasped and backed down.

He Xinyan smiled and looked at Doctor Jin, "Grandpa Jin, please help check Auntie Li and the. . . baby."

Doctor Jin bent down and was about to grab Li Huiran's hand, but she jumped away.

"No!"

"Stay still!" Bai Jiawei screamed, his tone very cold and scary.

Li Huiran froze and Doctor Jin took this opportunity to place three fingers onto her wrist to take her pulse. After several seconds, Doctor Jin stood up and cleared his throat.

"From the pulse, I cannot tell that she is pregnant. However, to be sure, it is better to go to the hospital to get an ultrasound."

Li Huiran collapsed onto the ground and broke into tears.

Meanwhile, the doctor that had just arrived in the ambulance was in confusion.

"Excuse me, what is going on?"

Bai Jiawei sighed, "Sorry, there must have been a mistake. You escort the doctor out of the house."

The maid standing nearby nodded and led the workers down the stairs and out of the He mansion.

"I think my job is also done. I will be leaving now," Doctor Jin said.

"Thank you, Mr. Jin." Bai Jiawei bowed down slightly and Doctor Jin also left the room.

He Xinyan watched as Doctor Jin left and straightened her back a little, "I'll escort Grandpa Jin out of the house."

Bai Jiawei glanced at her before nodding.

Outside the He mansion, He Xinyan and Doctor Jin both stopped walking.

Grandpa Jin sighed, "I was your grandfather's private doctor and his friend. I watched you grow up from a little baby to a woman. I treat you like my own granddaughter."

He Xinyan smiled gently.

"I retired already, but once you call me, I come immediately to help you."

He paused before saying, "Xinyan, you knew about Mrs. Li's fake pregnancy all along, right?"

He Xinyan looked down guiltily and nodded her head, "I'm sorry, Grandpa Jin."

"From what I saw earlier, your life here isn't easy. You're so young. . . it must be hard on you."

He Xinyan's lip twitched slightly as she tried to push away the sour feeling starting to grow in her nose.

"I knew something was off right away after you called me over so hurriedly to check Li Huiran!"

He Xinyan took a deep breath, "I'm really sorry, Grandpa Jin. I should have told you the truth."

"I was very excited to come and see you, but. . . I didn't expect to be just a part of your plan. This makes me very sad!"

He Xinyan pressed her lips together as a tear rolled down her cheek, "I'm sorry, Grandpa Jin! I was wrong! I was really scared! There can't be any mistake in the plan! So. . . I hope you can forgive me."

Grandpa Jin sighed, "Xinyan, don't cry. I don't blame you. I know you are having a difficult time too. I just want to tell you. . . Do not hurt those that really love and care about you to achieve your goals."

He Xinyan looked down and took a deep breath.

"Of course, I won't blame you for this. However, you still have a long life ahead of you. I don't want you to carry all this hate with you forever. Don't do things that you will regret in the future."

He Xinyan nodded her head, "I'm sorry, Grandpa Jin."

"Okay. Stop crying, Xinyan. If you need me in the future, just call me."

He Xinyan wiped away her tears and squeezed out a smile.

"Xinyan, you are the only descendant of the He family. If you don't like your life here, just leave. We, the old friends of the He family, will help you get back what belongs to you."

He Xinyan smiled as tears continued to roll down her cheeks, "Thank you, grandpa Jin, for forgiving me. But please don't worry. . . I know what I need to do. You don't have to worry about me."

Grandpa Jin smiled and rested one hand onto He Xinyan's hand, "Okay. You should go back now."

He smiled before walking away and entering his car.

He Xinyan wiped away her tears before turning around and walking back to the house.

"How dare you lie to me!" Bai Jiawei slapped Li Huiran across the cheek so hard she fell back several steps and hit the cabinet nearby, but Bai Jiawei didn't care now.

Li Yuyan's eyes widened and she ran over to Li Huiran, "Mom!"

Li Huiran stood back up and walked over to Bai Jiawei. She kneeled down onto the ground and grabbed onto his hand.

"Jiawei, I'm sorry! I didn't lie to you on purpose! I just wanted to be with you and give Yuyan a complete family! Please forgive me! Jiawei!"

Bai Jiawei flung Li Huiran away, "Shut up! LI Huiran, you know clearly how much I want a son! For my son, I even angered the shareholders over the He Corporation just to give you and my son a title and position in the company! I -"

"Jiawei, I know you are mad at me! However, I didn't purposely lie to you! You know what situation I was in! I had to come up with a lie so I could stay with you! Please forgive me! Just this once!"

Bai Jiawei's eyes suddenly widened, "You dare talk about what situation you were in?! I only let you stay because of my son, but now that son is gone! Do you think I will forgive you?! In your dreams!"

He slapped Li Huiran again, and she fell back onto the ground.

At this time, He Xinyan showed up at the doorway to the room, and she stopped walking when she saw what was happening.

Li Yuyan helped lift her mom up from the floor, "Dad, I know that mom made a mistake this time. But please forgive her! She just wanted to have a rightful title in the He family, she didn't mean to lie to you!"

As Li Yuyan spoke, Li Huiran noticed He Xinyan from the corner of her eye. She turned around and glared at He Xinyan.

Bai Jiawei scoffed, "Rightful title?! So she is just selfish!"

Li Huiran suddenly pointed one finger at He Xinyan, "Jiawei, I know I am wrong, but you can't trust He Xinyan either! She is definitely not as simple and innocent as you think. She must have known about my fake pregnancy all along! Or else how did she get Doctor Jin to come so quickly?!"

Bai Jiawei looked at He Xinyan and slowly said, "Come over."

He Xinyan walked over calmly.

"Tell me. Did you know about your stepmother's fake pregnancy beforehand?"

"No! Of course not, dad!" He Xinyan turned around and pointed one finger at Li Huiran, who took a step back nervously.

"Li Huiran, you evil woman! You weren't even pregnant, yet you lied to my dad! Then, you tried to accuse me of causing your miscarriage! It's such a relief that Grandpa Jin came today! If he didn't, then I would be accused of being a murderer now! You disgusting woman!"
