Suddenly, the door opened and someone walked in, disturbing his thoughts.

Su Zhiming frowned when he saw who it was and he crossed his arms together, "Why didn't you knock?"

Su Zhiming's assistant froze and he gulped, "President Su, I did knock."

"Whatever. What is it?"

"Here is the monthly report for the company."

Su Zhiming flipped open the folder and leaned back against his chair to read what was on the pages. 

"Our ranking moved up again." Su Zhiming raised one eyebrow as a small smile crept up his face. Newstart Entertainment was in the top 10 for Country Z entertainment companies already, which was a very rare sight for a new company like his!

Of course, this was largely due to the help of the He Corporation, but Su Zhiming didn't want to admit that.

"Yes, President Su! Our gross profit and net profit also increased this month by 54 thousand!"

Su Zhiming's smile widened as he finished reading through the report.

His company was growing, and it was only getting better and better! Before long, he was certain that He Xinyan would return to his side. 

By then, he would be able to kick Li Yuyan away and Bai Jiawei would also have to agree to him! 

Su Zhiming lifted his chin up slightly and licked his lips with a grin.

In the afternoon, He Xinyan left for filming. 

She had a few scenes to film and she wanted to finish them quickly so she could make it back early for dinner!

He Xinyan changed into her costume and did her makeup before going to the filming site. 

Li Yuyan was also here because she had two scenes today, and both of them were with He Xinyan.

"He Xinyan! Li Yuyan! Let's get started!" Director Ma called and the two of them got into position.

This was after Yinlan was exposed, and the empress decided to punish her to death. 

She was sent into the place where punished servants went to receive their punishment, and although she wasn't getting any physical punishment, she was awaiting her death. 

Concubine Xi was going to visit her servant one last time before her death.

"Beautiful Things Past, Scene 127, Take 1, Action!"

Concubine Xi walked to the dirty wood building and the guard outside immediately bowed down to greet her.

"My lady, what are you doing in a dirty place like here?"

Concubine Xi glanced down at the servant and took a deep breath, smelling in the hay, "I'm here to look for someone."

The servant stood up immediately and opened up the door, "This way, my lady!"

Concubine Xi stepped in and she scrunched her face up at the disgusting smell of blood and sweat inside. 

Her maid also pressed her lips together, "My lady, you aren't fit for a place like this. We should -"

Concubine Xi ignored her and walked in. She immediately heard the ear-piercing screams and when she walked in, she saw several servants, male and female, receiving beatings. 

Their upper bodies were naked and several of them had blood covering most of their skin.

Concubine Xi took a deep breath and looked away before walking in further. Next, there were several servants that were doing work. They seemed to be mixing something in a huge jar, and there were guards watching them.

"Hurry up! Stop slacking off! You! What are you doing?! Do you want to receive a beating?! Hurry and do your work!"

Concubine Xi walked past them as well with her eyebrows tightly furrowed together. As she walked in further, the sound of screaming grew softer and softer.

Finally, she stopped in front of several cells. Most of the cells were empty since few servants were actually sent here. Unless you made a huge mistake, most servants didn't get punished to death. 

Most just received a spanking from their owner, so being sent here meant you probably made a more serious mistake.

Also, if a servant was sentenced to death, it was different from a concubine or someone important getting sentenced to death. As a servant, you were more likely killed on the spot. 

However, it was different for Yinlan. She was going to be hanged in front of all the other servants in the palace as a reminder to them to not try and do things out of their responsibility. 

It was a silent warning to them: "You were born to be servants and serve. So don't try and escape your fate. If you do, what awaits you is only death."

All of the cell doors were open except one. 

Concubine Xi walked over and the guard following behind her unlocked the door. She walked in and looked down coldly at the person laying on the ground.

Li Yuyan. . . Oh wait! No, it's Yinlan! Yes, Yinlan. . .

Yinlan had received a beating before being sent here, so her body was weak and sore. She looked up at Concubine Xi and they stared at each other for a few seconds.

Finally, Yinlan laughed.

"My lady, what are you doing here? Your precious body shouldn't be in a dirty place like this! Are you pretending to pity me. . . or pretending to be a good master?!"

Yinlan's smile disappeared, "Stop pretending! This is all because of you! You caused all of this! If it weren't for you, this wouldn't happen to me!"

The hint of sadness in Concubine Xi's expression disappeared when she heard what Yinlan said.

Concubine Xi raised one eyebrow, "It seems like you still haven't learned your lesson."

He Xinyan took a step forward, blocking the camera view of Li Yuyan. As she walked, she kicked up some hay on the ground. . . right onto Li Yuyan's face!

Li Yuyan turned her face away in surprise and glared at He Xinyan, clenching her fists together. If it weren't for the fact that breaching the contract meant that she had to pay a huge fee, Li Yuyan would have quit this drama a long time ago!

She didn't want to be the maid! She was supposed to be Concubine Xi! That was her role in the beginning! If it weren't for the fact that He Xinyan slept and seduced Gu Yechen, the role would be hers right now!

"Cut! Cut! Li Yuyan, what are you doing?!"

Director Ma slammed his headphones onto the table and stood up angrily. The scene was going very well! 

Li Yuyan quickly got up from the ground, brushing off the hay and dirt on her outfit.

"Director, He Xinyan! She - She kicked hay onto my face so I forgot my lines!"
