"No." Bai Jiawei said immediately, "All she will do is embarrass herself."

Li Yuyan clenched her teeth tightly together and didn't say anything. Li Huiran was also upset but she couldn't back down now. No matter what, she couldn't let the company go to He Xinyan!

She stepped forward and grabbed onto Bai Jiawei's arm.

"Jiawei, just because Yuyan made a mistake at the party tonight doesn't mean she isn't fit to also work in the company. You can't be so partial! Yuyan will be able to help the company too. She can learn and maybe even help Xinyan in the future!"

He Xinyan knit her eyebrows tightly together as she crossed her arms together. She had expected Li Huiran to try and get Li Yuyan to join the company too, and He Xinyan wasn't scared.

Li Yuyan was even more dumb than her mother, so she was no match for He Xinyan. Even if everything went wrong, He Xinyan was still confident.

Because. . . she had Gu Yechen!

She wanted to first try herself, but if it didn't work, she would have to pull out her ace, Gu Yechen!

He Xinyan smirked and leaned back against Gu Yechen's chest once again, waiting to see what else Li Huiran would say to try and convince Bai Jiawei.

However, Li Huiran didn't need to say anything else. Because the next second, Bai Jiawei said:

"Okay, Li Yuyan can join as an intern too."

He Xinyan raised one eyebrow as she stood up straighter. She didn't think it would be that easy for Bai Jiawei to agree. So, that would mean. . . Bai Jiawei didn't want the company to go to her either. Or else why would he let Li Yuyan in?

Li Yuyan had no relation whatsoever with the He Corporation, so there was no reason why she should join. However, Bai Jiawei agreed so easily.

He Xinyan grinned as she took a deep breath. Seems like her main enemies weren't only Li Huiran and Li Yuyan now. . . Bai Jiawei will also be trying to get in her way.

"It's getting late. Let's go home now!" Li Huiran said with a triumphant smile on her face. They should hurry and leave before Bai Jiawei changed his mind.

Gu Yechen grabbed onto He Xinyan's hand, "She's coming with me today."

Everyone looked his way, including He Xinyan.

There were a few seconds of silence before Bai Jiawei nodded his head, "Sure! Of course!"

Although He Xinyan was happy to go with Gu Yechen, she still found it kind of pathetic how easily Bai Jiawei gave her away. If Gu Yechen wasn't young and handsome and considerate and respectful, He Xinyan would probably not like him.

However, Bai Jiawei would still do the same. He just really wanted to sell her to a rich man.

It was just a little better because Gu Yechen was young and handsome and considerate and respectful. . . and much more.

He Xinyan scoffed and walked away, wrapping her hand around Gu Yechen's arm.

Bai Jiawei, Li Huiran, Li Yuyan, and Su Zhiming also returned to the Xihe Estates.

Gu Yechen drove them to the private house he had near the beach, and they were going to stay there tonight.

It was almost 11 at night when they arrived, so they immediately went upstairs to go to sleep.

When they reached Gu Yechen's room, he took out a pair of light pink silk pajamas and placed it onto the bed, "Go take a shower. The top drawer of the cabinet to the left of the sink has some skincare products. The pink cup and toothbrush are yours."

He Xinyan smiled sweetly and walked over to take the pajamas from Gu Yechen. She took this chance to hug him and kiss him on the lips, "Love you!"

Then, she ran into the bathroom and locked the door.

Gu Yechen chuckled and licked his lips before grabbing his own pajamas and going to the guest room to take a shower.

He finished before He Xinyan, and when he returned, He Xinyan had just stepped out from the shower. She changed into her pajamas and opened the door.

"Yechen, where is the hairdryer?"

Gu Yechen stood up from the bed and walked into the bathroom, pulling a hairdryer from a drawer.

"I'll dry your hair, you brush your teeth."

He Xinyan didn't hear what Gu Yechen said because she had noticed something very cool.

"Gu Yechen, we have matching pajamas!" He Xinyan said as she looked back and forth at his pajamas and hers.

His silk pajamas were blue, and it was a rare sight since Gu Yechen wore black almost all the time.

There was a pink heart embroidered onto the silk of Gu Yechen's pajamas, and He Xinyan noticed that she had a blue heart at the same location.

Gu Yechen couldn't help but smile at He Xinyan's cute and surprised expression.

"Do you like it?"

He Xinyan nodded her head, "It's so cute!"

Gu Yechen's smile widened as he lifted his chin up proudly. He had bought this online a while ago, but they never got the chance to wear it together.

He wanted to buy a black one for himself, but he knew that He Xinyan would probably not like it if her pajamas were black too. So, he ended up buying the most popular one, which was blue and pink.

"Okay, I'll dry your hair now."

Gu Yechen turned on the blow dryer and He Xinyan turned around to face the front. She grabbed her toothbrush and noticed that the cup and toothbrush were also matching!

He Xinyan shook her shoulders excitedly as she grabbed the toothbrush and squeezed some toothpaste onto it.

She brushed her teeth and watched Gu Yechen dry her hair. During times like this, He Xinyan thought that the heavens were really nice to her.

Not only did they give her a second chance, but they also gave her such an amazing man in her second life! How lucky was that?!

He Xinyan giggled and because she was so immersed in her thoughts, she choked on the toothpaste.

She began coughing violently and spat the toothpaste out.

The blow dryer closed and Gu Yechen placed it onto the table with a frown on his face, "Stupid, how can you even choke on toothpaste?"

He Xinyan looked up at him pitifully and rinsed out the rest of the toothpaste.

Gu Yechen sighed, "Let me finish drying your hair first."

He Xinyan stood still and let Gu Yechen finish drying her hair before grabbing her toothbrush again.

"Stop," Gu Yechen commanded. He took the toothbrush from her and said, "Ah."

He Xinyan opened her mouth obediently and Gu Yechen bent down slightly to brush her teeth. He Xinyan smiled happily as she stared at Gu Yechen romantically.

"Don't smile. Open your mouth." Gu Yechen said sternly, although his eyes were filled with love and gentleness.

"Ah," He Xinyan opened her mouth wider and used her hand to grab the blue toothbrush. She squeezed some toothpaste on it and reached her hand up.

"What are you doing?"

"Brush your teeth! Ah!" He Xinyan said with her mouth full of toothpaste.

Gu Yechen chuckled and opened his mouth.

He Xinyan had to stretch her arm out to brush his teeth, and it was difficult to see where she was brushing because he was so tall.

This was probably the longest tooth brushing the two of them have ever done in their lives. After several minutes, they rinsed their mouths together and left the restroom to go to sleep.

It wasn't a very smooth day, because things just got more difficult for He Xinyan since Li Yuyan is also joining the company.

However, they both slept very well that night.

In the Xihe Estates, another couple was going to sleep.

Li Yuyan was sitting on the bed already when Su Zhiming walked out of the restroom.

Su Zhiming didn't have a happy expression on his face like other men who realized they would be a father soon. Instead, he seemed quite unhappy.

He sat down on the bed and dried his hair with a towel.

Li Yuyan moved across the bed so she was behind Su Zhiming, "Zhiming -"

Su Zhiming turned around and narrowed his eyes slightly, "You're really pregnant?"

Li Yuyan gulped, "Of course!"

"How old is the child?"

"Two weeks. . ." Li Yuyan said, trying to keep eye contact with Su Zhiming.

Su Zhiming closed his eyes and pinched the skin in between his eyebrows, deep in thought. After several seconds, he opened his eyes and frowned.

"But I remember I used contraception!" Su Zhiming said, eyeing Li Yuyan suspiciously.

". . . I don't know. Maybe it broke. . ."

Su Zhiming still didn't believe Li Yuyan completely, but he had no evidence. He stood up to put the towel away and when he came back, he remembered something else important.

He stared at Li Yuyan and after a few seconds of silence, he asked, "Why weren't you wearing underwear today?"
