She stepped in and raised one eyebrow in surprise when she saw another person in the room, sitting on the couch.

Li Yuyan.

He Xinyan blinked a few times and raised one eyebrow. She was quite surprised to see Li Yuyan here already. Maybe she left after her but since He Xinyan went to get coffee, Li Yuyan arrived earlier.

Li Yuyan rolled her eyes when she saw He Xinyan, and she crossed her arms together proudly. She was wearing a tight grey suit, and there was no sign of a pregnant stomach yet.

He Xinyan wondered how Li Yuyan could possibly act so proud and arrogant in her property! He Xinyan licked her lips before walking over to the couch across from Li Yuyan and sitting down.

They sat in silence for several minutes until the door opened again. Bai Jiawei walked in with another woman behind him.

"You two are here already!" He said as he walked over to his desk and sat down.

Li Yuyan immediately jumped up from the couch and He Xinyan followed. They walked over and stood in front of the desk. 

"Let me introduce her to you," Bai Jiawei said, looking at the woman who walked in with him. She seemed to be in her late 30's or even in her 40's. 

"This is manager Yu, the manager of the department you will be working in. It is the marketing department but you two will be doing work from other departments too."

Li Yuyan smiled, "Hello, manager Yu. I am Li Yuyan."

The woman smiled and didn't say anything more.

"Hello, manager Yu. I am He Xinyan."

Yu Lin looked at He Xinyan and smiled at her too.

Bai Jiawei placed his hand onto the computer mouse and nodded, "Okay, you two can follow manager Yu to the marketing department and get to work. If there is anything you need, just ask her."

"Yes, dad." Li Yuyan said brightly.

They followed manager Yu out of the office, and they took the elevator down to the 12th floor.

The workers on the 12th floor all stood up to greet manager Yu when she walked in. Li Yuyan and He Xinyan followed Yu Lin into her private office.

"There are two empty spots outside. You should have seen them when walking here. Those are your spots. You two can figure out who sits where."

Manager Yu pulled out a cabinet and grabbed two folders out, "The He Corporation is working on entering the makeup field since makeup is getting more and more popular in society. I want you two to both create a report on current trends in that area and also the competition in the makeup industry. I want it by the end of work today."

Li Yuyan's eyes widened when she heard that. After all, she has never worked in the business field or any company before. She didn't expect the work to be so hard on the first day! Plus, she thought that as the chairman's daughter, it should be easy, right? 

Li Yuyan gulped and slowly picked up the file from the table. On the other hand, He Xinyan was quite confident. She still had some knowledge about business. 

Maybe it was because of natural inheritance from her mother and grandfather, but she had a really good business brain! In elementary school, she always won the school bake sales and fundraiser events!

Also, the afternoons spent with Gu Yechen didn't go to waste. When she was watching the television or eating snacks, Gu Yechen was usually around doing work on his computer or having online meetings. 

When she got bored of watching the television, she would go over and take a look at what Gu Yechen was doing sometimes, and she would learn many things while doing so.

This only made He Xinyan more confident. Even if there were things she didn't know how to do, she could always ask Gu Yechen! He was known as the 'business prodigy', there was nothing he couldn't do!

He Xinyan smirked happily at the thought of her huge advantage, and she held the black folder happily.

"What are you two still doing here? Go to work now!"

He Xinyan and Li Yuyan left the office and they both walked over to the working area. There were two empty spots at different sides of the room.

He Xinyan naturally walked up and took the one closer, and Li Yuyan didn't complain.

Before going to her desk, Li Yuyan cleared her throat and faced all the other workers.

"Hello everyone. I am Li Yuyan, Chairman Bai's daughter. Nice to meet all of you."

All of the workers looked up and a few of them waved at Li Yuyan as a response. 

He Xinyan scoffed when she saw this. Li Yuyan just had to make it very clear who she was. . . Bai Jiawei's daughter. 

But there was a huge difference between the daughter and the heir. . . Or the illegitimate heir and the rightful heir. 

Li Yuyan sat down proudly and placed the folder down onto the table, pretending to immediately get into work although she had no clue where to start.

Meanwhile, He Xinyan also began working. She first opened her folder and began reading through the information given already.

There were three pages, and it went through the basic information of how the He Corporation is doing currently, what industries it is focusing on, and how it plans to develop into the makeup industry.

After reading through it twice, He Xinyan opened her computer and went to work.

Half an hour later, Li Yuyan stood up from her chair and walked into manager Yu's office. About ten minutes later, she left with a smile on her face.

After working for three hours, it was time for the lunch break. The first to leave was Li Yuyan, and she made it clear that she was going to go eat with her husband, Su Zhiming.

He Xinyan continued to work because work ended at 6, and there wasn't much time. In fact, she was kind of shocked that Li Yuyan actually had the time to go eat lunch comfortably. 

She rolled her eyes and continued to do some research before starting her report.

A few minutes into the lunch break, her phone rang. The tiredness she was feeling from the first day of work immediately went away when she saw the name on her screen.

"Yechen!" She said cheerfully.

There was a soft chuckle, "How is your work?"

"Good!"

"What are you doing right now?"

"The He Corporation wants to enter the makeup field and the manager I'm working under told me to create a report about current trends and the competition in the makeup industry."

"Did you eat lunch yet?"

He Xinyan put one hand onto her stomach and frowned, "No. There isn't much time."

"What floor are you on?"

"12, why?"

There was the sound of a chair moving, "Nothing. Go do work."

He Xinyan smiled, "Yes, sir! Goodbye!"

After hanging up the call, He Xinyan continued to work on her report, and when she was finally onto writing the content, a person walked into the working area.

He Xinyan thought that it was just a worker coming back from the lunch break, although it was only halfway through. However, the person came to a stop right next to her spot, and He Xinyan looked up.

"Gu Yechen?! What are you doing here?" He Xinyan jumped up from her chair and gasped when she saw the bags of food.

"Are you here to give me food?"

Gu Yechen smiled before nodding his head slightly. He took out the packaged food from the bag and also took out a clean pair of chopsticks, "I didn't have time to make food myself, so I ordered it."

"It's okay, it's okay!" He Xinyan said as she licked her lips. She was planning on skipping lunch today, and she was feeling a little upset about it. However, Gu Yechen seemed to always know how to make her feel better!

As Gu Yechen set up the dishes, He Xinyan went over to grab an extra chair for him.

They sat down together and Gu Yechen watched He Xinyan eat the food.

"Everything is going fine?" Gu Yechen asked as he used a napkin to wipe the corners of her lips.

He Xinyan nodded as she continued to eat. Gu Yechen watched her eat for a while until she was finished. 

"How is the report?" Gu Yechen asked as he began to clean up the empty containers.

He Xinyan stood up to help him, "It's good. The trends are easy because there are a lot of articles about what is in trend right now. However, the competition is a little more difficult. The most powerful makeup company right now is Aini Cosmetics, but there is no way the He Corporation can beat them any time soon. So, I'm not sure if I should talk about the Aini Cosmetics, because it won't be good if I can't provide a solution."

Gu Yechen walked over to the trash can with a smile, "That's easy. Aini Cosmetics is under the Gu Corporation, so -"

"What?!"
