He Xinyan smiled, "Manager Yu, I'm not here to threaten you or anything. I just want to make a deal."

Yu Lin looked up in surprise, and her eyes were slightly red.

He Xinyan looked down and pressed her lips together, "You should tell my dad that you are pregnant because there is no way you can hide it in the last few months. Even if you can, you would have to take a break from work when you deliver the baby. It is better to tell him than to get caught."

"But -"

"Don't worry about the salary. I will convince my dad to give you a salary during maternity leave, even if it is over 10 weeks."

Yu Lin looked like she was about to cry, and she stood up to bow.

"You don't have to thank me!" He Xinyan immediately said as her expression softened slightly, "You also have your part of the deal."

Manager Yu pressed her lips together. She could already guess that He Xinyan was going to say something like, 'You have to help me and make it harder for Li Yuyan!'

However, then what will she tell Li Yuyan?! She couldn't just tell Li Yuyan that their deal is off.

"You have to stop being biased and just do your job like how you would do your job normally." He Xinyan said as she stood up.

Manager Yu looked up in shock and smiled, "Of course!"

"Good." He Xinyan placed the file folder onto manager Yu's desk and walked towards the door, "You can keep that."

After He Xinyan had left, Yu Lin immediately stuffed the folder into her desk and sat down with a sigh. She was indeed very stupid to agree to work with Li Yuyan.

The rest of the day went by well, and towards the end of the workday, manager Yu went up to the top floor to tell Bai Jiawei about her pregnancy.

To her surprise, Bai Jiawei didn't get angry at her, and instead, he agreed to give her pay during maternity leave.

Manager Yu left Bai Jiawei's office happily, and once she stepped out of the room, she saw Li Yuyan standing outside.

"Manager Yu, what are you doing here?" Li Yuyan asked.

Yu Lin didn't smile at Li Yuyan and instead walked straight past her, "Nothing."

Li Yuyan frowned slightly but didn't say anything as she walked into the chairman's office.

"Dad, what was manager Yu doing?"

Bai Jiawei stood up from his desk and walked around because he was finished with his work, "Nothing. Why are you here?"

Li Yuyan smiled, "Dad, I know that we just started but it is hard to see our skills by doing the easy work of a lowly worker."

Bai Jiawei frowned, "What do you mean?"

"Dad, why don't you promote one of us to group leader!"

Bai Jiawei blinked a few times at the idea, "One of you?"

"Yes! Manager Yu can choose!" Li Yuyan said.

Bai Jiawei glanced at Li Yuyan, "Does Manager Yu like you more?"

Li Yuyan looked away, "Umm. . . Why?"

Bai Jiawei cleared his throat, "Well. . . Yuyan-ah. Um. . . I shouldn't be biased and I want to give you an equal opportunity to Xinyan. You are my daughter too! If you can prove yourself, the company may go to you too."

Bai Jiawei was about to also say, 'In fact, I would rather the company go to you than He Xinyan!', but he stopped himself.

Li Yuyan's eyes lit up as she smiled happily, "Thank you, dad! I will work hard! Yes, manager Yu definitely likes me more!"

Li Yuyan was confident in this because she had a deal with manager Yu! There was no way she would promote He Xinyan with their deal still going on.

Bai Jiawei nodded his head, "Okay, I will ask her tomorrow."

He Xinyan entered the house to smell the delicious food. She ran in and saw Gu Yechen sitting on the couch with his back facing her.

She slowly tiptoed over to try and scare him, but to her surprise, he suddenly said, "You're home."

He Xinyan sighed in disappointment and walked around to see what he was doing.

Gu Yechen was dressed in his casual home clothes and he was holding a pair of scissors in one hand and a rose in the other.

He seemed to be focused on cutting the thorns off of the rose stem.

"Is this the rose you give me?" He Xinyan asked in surprise.

Gu Yechen grinned and nodded his head as he finished cutting off the final thorn. He put the scissor down and stood up, "Let's go eat."

After a fulfilling dinner, He Xinyan went to the couch to watch television and Gu Yechen carried his computer over to work.

There was a very famous romantic drama broadcasting lately, and He Xinyan was officially addicted.

She watched for half an hour, and she was so focused that she didn't notice when Gu Yechen put his computer down and began to watch with her. . . or more like, watch her.

The drama progressed and the male lead was at the female lead's house. They had just finished eating together and they entered the bedroom.

In less than a minute, the drama progressed drastically, and the two main leads were rolling on the bed suddenly!

They had taken off their clothes and were kissing aggressively. He Xinyan's eyes widened slightly as she leaned forward on her chair and grabbed a handful of chips.

Right after the intense scene, the episode finished and the next one would be broadcasted next week.

He Xinyan frowned and slouched down onto the couch.

"You were very focused on watching that scene," Gu Yechen's deep voice suddenly said.

He Xinyan's back straightened as she gulped, "Ha. . . Ha. . . What scene?"

Gu Yechen chuckled and licked his lips as he ran one finger down her jawline, "Don't act innocent. You know what scene I'm talking about."

He Xinyan immediately jumped up from the couch, "I. . . I just remembered that I have some work to do! Goodbye!"

Like a frightened chicken, He Xinyan ran away as fast as possible, forgetting to close the door behind her.

Gu Yechen laughed as he closed the front door. Was he that scary?

The next day, He Xinyan left for work early once again. To be honest, she wasn't very used to it, because when she was filming, the schedules changed every day and she didn't always have to wake up so early.

She arrived at work a little later than usual, and just as she arrived, she saw manager Yu walking out with Li Yuyan behind her.

"Perfect! He Xinyan, you come with me too!"

He Xinyan knit her eyebrows together confusedly and followed them. They entered the elevator and went up to the top floor.

They walked to Bai Jiawei's office and entered after receiving permission.

"Manager Yu, you're here!" Bai Jiawei said as he stood up from his desk. He glanced at both Li Yuyan and He Xinyan as they walked in.

"Take a seat."

The four of them sat down on the couch and it seemed like only He Xinyan didn't know what was going on.

"Since you're all here, I'll just make the announcement." Bai Jiawei said with a smile.

"Xinyan and Yuyan, I realized that it is difficult to get used to the company and also learn how to be a leader just as a normal low worker. After all, you will be leading the company in the future. So, I have decided to promote one of you to the team leader to get used to how to lead a group and so the work you do will be more similar to what you would do in the future. Plus, you will all be promoted in the future as my daughters."

He Xinyan raised one eyebrow as she listened to Bai Jiawei. So, this meant that Li Yuyan would also be leading the company in the future? Excuse me?! This company was hers. . . Not Bai Jiawei's, and definitely not Li Yuyan's!

He Xinyan was getting sick and tired of Bai Jiawei, Li Huiran, and Li Yuyan making it sound like the company was also theirs.

She sighed and crossed her arms together. It was important to stay calm and patient. He Xinyan had to take it one step at a time. . . First, she had to accumulate power for herself before finding a way to get rid of Bai Jiawei and the Li mother and daughter.

He Xinyan took a deep breath. Yes. . . stay calm.

"So, I decided to ask Manager Yu, since she has been your boss these past few days. Who would you like to promote, and who do you think deserves the promotion?"

Li Yuyan smiled confidently as she sat up a little straighter, almost as if she was getting ready to receive the promotion.

He Xinyan blinked a few times and grinned. Well, wasn't this interesting!

Manager Yu's mouth opened slightly, "Chairman Bai, you're letting me make this decision?"

Bai Jiawei nodded his head, "Of course, I trust you and you have been watching the two of them work. So, I think you will be able to make the best decision."

Manager Yu nodded her head and smiled as she looked at Li Yuyan and then at He Xinyan.

"Chairman Bai, I think the promotion should go to He Xinyan."
