"Now, I will introduce the first round of the competition."

He Xinyan looked at the slideshow and narrowed her eyes.

"There will be a total of three rounds to the competition, and the third round will have two parts. For the first round, the He Corporation wants to work with another company, the LIQuan Company. However, they have always pushed off our attempt to collaborate with them. So, the first round is to persuade the LIQuan Company to work with us. The CEO from that company will be making the decision."

He Xinyan nodded her head, and when she glanced at Li Yuyan, she noticed that Li Yuyan was very confident.

The slide changed and it showed the piece of land Bai Jiawei was talking about.

"Right there. The land belongs to the LIQuan Company right now, and they aren't willing to let it go. Whoever can get the company to work with us and sell us the land wins this round. Understand?"

"Today is a Wednesday. Including today, you both have 5 days. The next meeting will be next week Monday, and the CEO of the LIQuan Company will announce who won."

He Xinyan literally thought that this entire competition thing was a joke. She could just meet the CEO and tell him that she will give the LIQuan Company a chance to work with the Gu Corporation in exchange for that land. A win was that easy!

However, He Xinyan wasn't going to do that! She wasn't going to use a lowly method like that to beat Li Yuyan. She didn't need to!

He Xinyan smirked and stood up from her chair since the quick meeting had adjourned.

They returned to the 12th floor and she immediately went to work.

He Xinyan did research about the company and the piece of land they were going for.

The next day, He Xinyan continued her research and began to write her proposal. On the other hand, Li Yuyan was already on the way to meet with the CEO.

She drove to the LIQuan Company and entered the front lobby.

"Hello, I am from the He Corporation. I would like to meet President Lu please."

The front desk worker glanced at Li Yuyan, "Do you have an appointment?"

"No, but will you call President Lu for me? Tell him I am a candidate for the CEO of the He Corporation, and I would like to meet him to discuss the project."

The front desk worker hesitated for a moment before picking up the phone and calling CEO Lu's assistant.

After a while, the worker put down the phone and smiled.

"President Lu said that you can go up to meet him."

Li Yuyan grinned and walked over to the elevators, riding up to the top floor. She walked into the room and saw a man probably in his late 20s sitting at the desk.

To Li Yuyan's surprise, he was actually quite good-looking.

"Hello, President Lu. I am Li Yuyan, a candidate for CEO of the He Corporation. As you probably know already, I am here to talk to you about the land in Qinhe."

Lu Yingjun stood up, "Let's go talk on the couch."

They sat down and cups of tea were brought over.

"Do you have a proposal?" Lu Yingjun asked as he took a sip of the tea.

Li Yuyan smiled, "No, I don't believe I need one." She had other plans.

Lu Yingjun scoffed, "You think I will make a deal with you without a proposal? Then how do I know how much I will get from this trade?"

Li Yuyan's mouth opened in shock. To be honest, she didn't know much about business, so she had no idea she needed a proposal.

"Um. . ." Li Yuyan tried to stay calm and she decided to carry out her original plan.

Li Yuyan sat up a little straighter and took off the black jacket she was wearing, revealing a silk red dress that didn't cover a lot of skin.

"It's quite hot, isn't it?" She said, fanning herself. Li Yuyan grinned slightly when she noticed Lu Yingjun glance at her. There was no way this plan would fail!

The position of CEO would definitely go to her!

Lu Yingjun glanced at her and scoffed, "Miss Li, it is 10 degrees Celsius today."

Li Yuyan was quite surprised at Lu Yingjun's reaction, and she laughed awkwardly. She moved over to where Lu Yingjun was sitting more and placed one hand onto his thigh.

"President Lu, I can offer you a very good trade. If you give me the opportunity, I promise you will have a good return."

Lu Yingjun slightly furrowed his eyebrows together and stood up, catching Li Yuyan by surprise.

"Miss Li, I don't have much time to waste. Come find me next time if you have a proposal."

Li Yuyan opened her mouth but no words came out. Was she not clear enough? Did he not understand what she meant?

There was no way! Li Yuyan looked down at her outfit and frowned.

Finally, she stood up and reluctantly left the room. Several people looked at her because she forgot to put on her jacket, and Li Yuyan quickly put on her jacket again when she realized.

After entering the car, Li Yuyan threw her handbag angrily onto the floor and clenched her fists together.

Why didn't it work?!

There was no way she would let He Xinyan win!

Li Yuyan decided to first write a proposal, and she will just try harder in the future.

The next day, He Xinyan had finished her proposal, and she also arrived at the LIQuan Company.

After the front desk lady called President Lu, she smiled politely at He Xinyan and walked out from behind the desk.

"Let me escort you to President Lu's office."

"Thank you."

When He Xinyan entered the office, she saw Lu Yingjun putting on his jacket. He looked up and smiled when he saw her and walked over.

"Hello, Miss He."

He Xinyan held her arm out, "Nice to meet you, President Lu."

Lu Yingjun shook her hand and stood at the door. He Xinyan was a little confused at Lu Yingjun's action. Were they not going to go in to talk?

Lu Yingjun chuckled slightly, "Miss He, it is close to lunchtime. Do I have the honor to have lunch with you? We can talk while eating."

He Xinyan was a little surprised by his invitation, but it would be impolite to reject him since she was here to ask him for a favor.

In the end, they ate at a nearby five-star restaurant.

In the private room, He Xinyan and Lu Yingjun began eating.

"It's fine. President Lu, you can eat first." He Xinyan said, although she was dying to show him the proposal she had created.

"I can look at it now." Lu Yingjun said firmly.

"Okay. Thank you!" He Xinyan excitedly pulled out the folder in her bag and handed it to Lu Yingjun with both hands.

The next few minutes passed in silence as Lu Yingjun read the proposal.

Finally, he closed the folder and looked up.

"I am really pleased with the terms you provided in the proposal. However, there is one more thing I would like to add. If you can agree to it, I will agree to the collaboration."

He Xinyan's eyes sparkled with excitement. Although she was confident that Li Yuyan stood no chance, she still tried really hard.

She was determined to win this competition.

Lu Yingjun grinned and handed the contract back to He Xinyan, "The food is getting cold. Let's eat first."

Although He Xinyan already couldn't wait, she still had to be polite to President Lu. She nodded her head and quickly began to eat.

Lu Yingjun watched He Xinyan wolf down her food and grinned.

Once they were done eating, He Xinyan didn't even bother to wipe her mouth before pulling out the contract again.

"President Lu, what is your term?"

Lu Yingjun smiled, "Miss He, you seem very excited. . . and determined."

"President Lu, as long as the term is reasonable and achievable, I will definitely agree."

Lu Yingjun raised one eyebrow and looked down slightly with a smile.

"Okay. Miss He, my term is simple." Lu Yingjun leaned forward and rested his elbows on the table.
