They ordered food from outside, and as they were eating, there was a sudden phone call.

From Gu Kexin.

Gu Yechen didn't even bother to pick up the call the first three times, until finally, he impatiently clicked the green button on the screen.

"Brother Yechen, I am here now but I don't know where you live."

Gu Yechen had turned the phone on speaker mode so He Xinyan could hear the entire conversation, and she raised one eyebrow as she glanced at Gu Yechen.

"Why would you need to know where I live?" Gu Yechen said coldly.

"I don't have a house over here and the Gu mansion is too far away. Grandma told me that I could live with you. . ." Gu Kexin's voice got softer and softer as she reached the end of the sentence.

He Xinyan took a bite of rice as she eagerly anticipated Gu Yechen's response.

And indeed, he didn't disappoint!

"I am germophobic. I don't like to have outsiders live in my house. If you have nowhere else to stay, then you can live."

And with that, Gu Yechen hung up the call and powered off his phone.

He Xinyan burst out into laughter without any sense of pity for Gu Kexin.

"Germophobic? You're saying she is a germ, hahahaha!"

Gu Yechen grinned slightly as he watched her laugh and put more food onto her plate, "Is it that funny?"

He Xinyan immediately nodded her head, "Funny is an understatement! It is so, sooo good!! Am I not an outsider then? I am more of an outsider than she is."

Gu Yechen began taking out the bones from a piece of fish as he opened his mouth, "What do you mean? You are the most intimate person to me along with my parents. In fact, you might even be more intimate, after we. . ."

He Xinyan was very familiar with Gu Yechen's dirty mind by now, and she immediately lifted one hand up to stop him, "Eat, eat, eat, eat. . ."

Gu Yechen chuckled as he placed the boneless fish onto He Xinyan's plate and began eating.

The next day, Gu Yechen went to work and He Xinyan "decided" to go with him.

It was only because she had nothing else to do, and she had too much time so she went. Nothing else. Absolutely nothing else.

They walked into the Gu Corporation hand in hand, but before they could even walk to the elevator, they were stopped.

"Brother Yechen!"

He Xinyan's expression immediately darkened as she recognized the voice. In a few seconds, Gu Kexin's annoying face showed up in front of them.

Just like He Xinyan, her face also darkened when she saw He Xinyan, but it quickly brightened up as her gaze moved over to Gu Yechen.

"Brother Yechen, I am here today!"

Gu Yechen glanced at Gu Kexin before immediately walking past her, pulling He Xinyan along with him.

In the past, he wasn't this rude to Gu Kexin, and he would still acknowledge him. However, after what He Xinyan had told him, of course he had to be more careful now.

Gu Kexin immediately ran after them, "Brother Yechen, why are you so cold to me?"

He Xinyan rolled her eyes, "Are you stupid?" She mouthed, and Gu Kexin didn't notice since her eyes were glued onto Gu Yechen.

"Gu Kexin, you are just a small worker. Do you think I have the time to talk to every new worker in the company? You are not that special." Gu Yechen said coldly without even looking at Gu Kexin, so he didn't notice that her eyes immediately became red.

"I -"

The elevator door walked in and Gu Yechen and He Xinyan immediately walked in, and of course, Gu Kexin followed.

"Get out," Gu Yechen said, his expression so cold even He Xinyan was a little afraid.

Gu Kexin opened and closed her mouth several times and tears were beginning to circle inside her eyes, "I. . . I need to ride up to the other floors too."

"This is my special elevator. Get out." Gu Yechen said frustratingly, almost like it was common sense. Gu Kexin looked so sad that He Xinyan was even beginning to feel a little pity towards her.

If she was Gu Kexin, and her crush talked to her like that, she would also definitely be sad. However, in this situation, Gu Kexin's crush was her man! So, the tiny feeling of pity immediately disappeared.

"Where are the guards?"

Upon hearing this, Gu Kexin immediately stepped out of the elevator in fear, and the first tear rolled down her cheeks.

Gu Yechen closed the door, and as the elevator door closed slowly, He Xinyan "very kindly" said, "The Human Resources department is on the 17th floor."

Gu Kexin glared at her right before the door closed.

"Ah, my boyfriend is so scary," He Xinyan shuddered as she glanced at Gu Yechen with a smile.

"How?" The angry and coldness in his expression seemed to have disappeared in a second as he turned to look at He Xinyan with a gentle smile.

"How? Ah, I'm glad I am not Gu Kexin."

Gu Yechen chuckled and leaned down towards her, "Why? You want me to be nicer to Gu Kexin?"

"No!" He Xinyan immediately replied without thinking. She then cleared her throat awkwardly after realizing that her reaction was a little too dramatic.

"Of course not! Stay this way! I like scary Gu Yechen."

Ding! The elevator door opened and He Xinyan immediately walked out, pulling Gu Yechen out with him.

"President Gu, Mrs. Gu."

"Good morning, President Gu and Mrs. Gu."

Everyone stood up and greeted them politely. No one was very surprised upon seeing He Xinyan because she had come several times already.

He Xinyan looked at her phone, ate food, slept, looked at her phone, ate food, slept, looked at her phone. . . Okay, you get the gist of it.

They ate lunch together and Gu Yechen left the company early so they could eat dinner together. To both of their relief, Gu Kexin didn't show up in front of them for the rest of the day.

And this was because she had returned back to the Gu mansion.

"Grandma!" Gu Kexin ran into the room with tears running down her cheeks and immediately jumped into Wang Yani's embrace.

"Xiner?! What are you doing here?" Wang Yani was in her nightgown already, and she fell a few steps back by the sudden force.

"Grandma, I don't want to go to the Gu Corporation anymore."

"What? Why? Yesterday, you were still so excited to go. And your brother Yechen is there!"

They sat down on the bed together and Gu Kexin wiped away the tears on her cheeks, "I went today, and. . . and brother Yechen was so mean to me! I. . . I couldn't stay. . ."

Gu Kexin went on to tell the entire story through her perspective to Wang Yani. Of course, her side of the story wasn't exactly the most objective, and she made it clear the horrible role He Xinyan played inside her story.

Wang Yani was furious by the end of Gu Kexin's story.

"Don't worry, Xiner. Gu Yechen is only treating you this way because of that He Xinyan. As long as we get rid of her, the road ahead of you will be clear."

Gu Kexin nodded her head in agreement. Since they were young, it was clear that she was going to be the only woman that was going to stand next to Gu Yechen!

However, the appearance of He Xinyan had ruined it all. Before, Gu Yechen would still acknowledge her and he still spoke to her when she did.

Note: Gu Kexin's definition of "spoke to her'' equals one or two words.

"Grandma has a plan," Wang Yani said, causing Gu Kexin to immediately look up hopefully.

"What is it?"

Wang Yani smiled, "You don't have to worry about it. Xiner, your birthday is coming up soon. When do you want to hold your birthday party?"

At the mention of her birthday party, Gu Kexin's expression brightened up slightly as she thought for a few seconds, "My birthday is next week. . . How about let's hold it the day before my birthday, on Sunday?"

Wang Yani nodded with a gentle smile, "Of course, whatever Xiner wants!"

Gu Kexin smiled and leaned against Wang Yani, "Grandma, I don't want to go back today."

"Okay, okay. How about we sleep together today?"

Gu Kexin nodded, "Yes, grandma!"

After changing into her pajamas and taking a shower, Gu Kexin laid down onto the huge bed next to Wang Yani, and closed her eyes, quickly falling asleep.

However, Wang Yani didn't go to sleep right away. Instead, her eyes stared at Gu Kexin and then scanned the room, before a small smile crept up her face.

The birthday party. . .

The next morning, hearing that Gu Kexin was back, Gu Zihao immediately appeared in front of Wang Yani's room and knocked twice.

"Come in!"

Gu Zihao walked in and smiled when he saw Gu Kexin, who smiled back at him.

"Sister Kexin, why are you back?"

Gu Kexin looked down and smiled slightly, "Nothing, I just came to visit. I will be returning today."

Gu Zihao's eyes lit up, "Great! I have some business to get to for the next two weeks near the northern area over there. We can go together."
