On the phone screen, it was open to his messages and Gu Yechen had just received a new message from an unknown number.

'Unknown: Don't think about calling the police. . . I know everything.'

"How. . ." He Xinyan put one hand up to her mouth, "How did he know? There is no way it was a coincidence. . . We were just talking about it."

Finally, Gu Yechen decided to have his parents and Wu Minger all leave. It wasn't helping that they were all gathered here.

After they left, He Xinyan fell back down onto the couch deep in thought.

Why Gu Yebei? Why did they capture Gu Yebei. If they had the strength and power to capture Gu Yebei, why didn't they just capture Xu Mengya or Gu Hanyu. . . Or even Gu Yechen?

Questions flooded her brain until Gu Yechen returned and sat down next to her, "Don't worry about it too much. We will figure something out. Plus. . . I don't think his actual goal is to kill Gu Yebei. That person wouldn't murder someone easily."

He Xinyan nodded her head, "Minger must be so worried and scared right now. . ."

Gu Yechen furrowed his eyebrows together but didn't say anything.

The rest of the day went by smoothly but anxiously as the two of them ate dinner and went to bed early. Chen Xiao had returned and said that no one was registered under the number.

Gu Yebei apparently had gone to work to shoot a commercial, and he entered his private changing room alone. When his assistant entered a few minutes later, the room was empty. And then, he was gone.

When they went to go check the security cameras, apparently they were broken since Gu Yebei arrived and the entire time after Gu Yebei arrived, the security cameras weren't recording.

Whoever was behind the kidnap was obviously professional. . . and very professional. Even Gu Yechen couldn't find out who had taken Gu Yebei or why Gu Yebei left. Whoever had entered Gu Yebei's room had meticulously hid from every single camera in the entire warehouse and surpassed the security guards.

Unless it was a worker in the crew of someone familiar with the site. . .

On the bed, He Xinyan closed her eyes as she leaned back, deep in thought. A few seconds later, she felt the other side of the bed lower and she looked up to see Gu Yechen sit down on the bed.

She smiled and put the pillow down before laying down on the bed. He closed the lamp and the room went into darkness.

Then, He Xinyan felt a pair of strong arms wrap around her waist, and she turned around, facing Gu Yechen. It took a few seconds before her eyes were able to focus on his face, and she smiled at him. Although normally, Gu Yechen treated Gu Yebei coldly, in the end, they were biological brothers.

Although he didn't show it, she could tell that he must be worried.

"If nothing works. . . Maybe you should just give your shares to him. After all, no matter how important money and power are, it still isn't as important as your family."

Gu Yechen looked down at He Xinyan and stared at her for a few seconds before he leaned forward, placing one hand on her cheek and. . . kissed her.

He Xinyan's eyes widened slightly in surprise. The situation right now wasn't very suitable for kissing. . .

However, she did not know what he was thinking, so she slowly began to return the kiss. Luckily, Gu Yechen didn't go any further and he pulled away after a minute.

"Don't worry. I won't give away the stocks. . ." Gu Yechen smiled gently, "I promised you a good life, and we finally have a full family now with Pingping and Lanlan."

He Xinyan understood what he was worried about, and he smiled, "I trust you. . . Don't ruin your family relationships for me. It's not worth it. Plus, money can always come back. And, I have the He Corporation too!"

He Xinyan reached her arm up and placed it onto one side of his face, "As long as I'm with you, it doesn't matter. We can get through it together."

Gu Yechen stared at her with a straight expression before slowly nodding his head, "Let's go to sleep."

He Xinyan nodded and closed her eyes, ". . . I love you."

"I love you too."

On the next day, He Xinyan woke up early in the morning. When she looked over, she saw that Gu Yechen wasn't there.

She closed her eyes again and thought about everything that had happened yesterday..

Gu Hanwu. . . Wu Yin. . .

Suddenly, He Xinyan's eyes burst open. Wu Yin! No wonder that name sounded familiar. Wu Minger's mom had the same name.

Since she had been friends with Wu Minger since they were kids, she often went to Wu Minger's house and ate meals with her family.

He Xinyan didn't know whether that was a coincidence or not. She thought about it and concluded that it was.

After all, there was no way Wu Minger's father was Gu Hanwu. She had met Wu Minger's father once before he died from an accident, and she still remembered that his last name was Qin.

And, he worked in a small restaurant and had a very pleasant personality. There was no way he was Gu Hanwu.

And, Wu Minger also did not have any unusual reaction yesterday upon hearing about the news. If she was the one behind it, there was no way she would be that natural.

Besides that, when they had received the call from the person behind it, Wu Minger was right next to them. So she couldn't have been making the call. Plus, why would she kidnap Gu Yebei?

He Xinyan sat up on the bed and rested her head on her elbows. Wu Minger had an older brother. . . Her older brother was very nice to her as well and had always treated her like his younger sister.

He Xinyan shook her head and pushed this drastic thought to the back of her head. What was she thinking? This was practically impossible. Ah, maybe overthinking is another side effect of pregnancy.

She got out of bed and quickly washed her face before going over to see her two babies. They were still asleep so she didn't wake them up and instead went downstairs to see Gu Yechen cooking in the kitchen.

She ran over and hugged him from behind, "Breakfast?"

He smiled as he tilted his head slightly, "Good morning, baby! Sit down. Breakfast is almost ready."

Both of them were trying to stay happy and optimistic and not mention the ongoing situation, and He Xinyan went along with it.

She sat down at the table and a few minutes later, they were eating breakfast together.

Halfway through the meal, He Xinyan finally decided to bring it up even though she tried to convince herself that she was just overthinking.

"Um. . . I just thought of something but. . ." She looked up and put down her fork, "I remembered that Wu Minger's mother's name is Wu Yin. It's probably just a coincidence! But. . . I just thought it was kind of cool."

Gu Yechen blinked a few times and narrowed her eyes, "It probably isn't a coincidence."

He Xinyan frowned, "What?"

"Yesterday, I already noticed that Wu Minger was a little off."

He Xinyan's mouth fell open as she leaned forward, "Are you overthinking? How?"

Gu Yechen sighed, "Maybe I am because I thought about it overnight and it doesn't make sense. . . Why Wu Minger would do it. . . If my dad and Gu Hanwu's relationship was good, why would they do this? Why would Gu Hanwu allow his kids to do this?"

He Xinyan nodded her head but then pressed her lips together, "Wu Minger's dad. . . died many years ago."

Gu Yechen's eyes shot up, "What?!"

He Xinyan stayed silent for a few seconds and the more she thought about it, the more suspicious she got, "Minger. . . She also has an older brother called Chenxi - Wu Chenxi."

Gu Yechen tilted his head slightly and shook his head, "It isn't good to do all this guessing. Why don't you call her? We can talk to her face to face."

He Xinyan nodded her head and pulled out her phone. She dialed Wu Minger's phone number and waited. . . And waited. . .

"She isn't there. Maybe she is still asleep."

Gu Yechen thought for a few seconds, "Do you want to go visit her after you finish your breakfast?"

He Xinyan immediately nodded her head and stood up, "I'm done. We can go now."

As Gu Yechen also stood up, his phone suddenly rang.

'Unknown: I'm here to kindly remind you. Your decision needs to be made by tonight. I will send you the address one hour before the meeting time. I want you to bring the signed contract with you and place it where I tell you to. I will know if you play any tricks. If you don't come alone, if you play tricks with the contract, if you don't come. . . your beloved brother will die.'
