Falling In Love : I Love You, Today And Forever Chapter 351

Meanwhile, on the other side, Ivy reached her home. She was in great excitement as she would be meeting Joshua sooner than she had expected. Her heart was thundering with joy with every second she reached closer to her house. Ronnie and Kaito were still following her even though there was absolutely not necessary for it. However, Ivy did not comment a thing about it. She only cared about reaching home.
To her surprise, the moment she reached home, she was welcomed by an empty house. Joshua was nowhere to be seen. She searched every nook and corner, but to no avail. He was not inside. She could only sigh in distress and wait for his return.
It was somewhere past evening and Joshua would be returning home soon. So, she decided to prepare dinner for him although she was quite tired. Ronnie took his leave right after she reached home and Kaito made his way towards the outhouse where he stayed. So, she was alone at home.
Time passed and it was somewhere past dinner time. However, there was no news of Joshua and Ivy was getting impatient as seconds ticked by. She called him to check upon him. But no one picked up and this continued for a long time until it was past midnight. Ivy went into panic mode and she could not help but worry for him. Her excited heart was now beating loudly in fear and she did not what to do. "Joshua, please pick up the call. I hope everything is fine. I hope you are okay." She muttered lightly.
When she was comprehending what to do next, the door opened and Joshua entered. He seemed to be tired and his eyes looked dull. Ivy rushed to him immediately, her face filled with concern. The man was surprised to see the girl home and he halted in his place.

Before he could speak a word, Ivy started to bombard him with questions. "Joshua, where the hell have you been? I have been calling you for a long time. Why did you not pick the phone? Is everything alright?" Ivy went closer to him but stopped immediately. Joshua reeked of alcohol and she furrowed her eyebrows.
"Joshua, did you drink?" Ivy asked. But that was a wrong move. Something triggered in the man and his expression changed altogether.
"Why? Do you also have a problem with that?"
"What? No, I was just.."
"Listen, Ivy, I am not anybody's puppet. I do what I want and I follow my heart, not anybody's orders. Don't you dare control me," Joshua warned and his sudden change in behavior stunned Ivy. She gaped at him in horror and wondered what was wrong with him.
"Joshua, what are you talking about? When did I try to control you? I was just worried about you." Ivy tried to reason out with him. But the man only walked away from her and removed his tie and threw it onto the floor in anger. He then dragged his body towards his room only to stopped by Ivy.
"Joshua, have something before you go to sleep."
"I am not hungry." That was all he said before he walked away leaving Ivy all alone in the hall. The girl was heartbroken seeing his weird behavior. He had never treated her this way. Before they had started dating, he was a flirt and he would always try to flirt or annoy her. Once they started dating, the man would never leave an opportunity to be with her. He would cling to her like an octopus asking her for hugs and kisses like a little kid.

Seeing his indifferent behavior today, Ivy was hurt. Although she was not angry at him, she could not help but feel sad. She had been hungry since the time she had arrived home, but her appetite vanished after Joshua returned home and she was in no mood to eat.
Ivy dragged her body to the first floor and glanced at Joshua's room, the door to which was closed. Devastated, she then went to the guest room. The man who would pester her to sleep in his room had not even looked at her clearly that night. Both of them slept separately, each drowning in their own thoughts.
The next day.
Joshua got up with a killer headache and he held his head in despair. It felt as though someone was hammering his head with the way his head ached. He searched for some Advil in the drawer and took two pills. It took him some time to feel better and slowly his headache reduced.
The man then freshened up and went downstairs only to stop suddenly. There was a large number of dishes on the table, more than what he ate normally. His maid only prepared a few dishes for him and it would be Ivy who would cook more dishes. As soon as the thought came to his mind, his eye brightened up. He wondered if Ivy was actually home and if she was the one who had cooked the food.
Joshua's happiness knew no bounds now and just like how Ivy had done the previous night, Joshua went around the house searching for her. But he could not find her anywhere. It was somewhere around nine in the morning. "I guess she must have gone to meet Max on work."
Joshua then sat down at the dining table and opened the dishes one by one. To his surprise, the dishes had gone cold and from the looks of it, they seemed to have been prepared a long time ago. Joshua's face scrunched up in confusion and he wondered what was even happening.
Things did not add up correctly and he decided to place a call to Ivy, but the number was unreachable. He tried again, only to meet the same fate. He then remembered about Kaito. The man was to guard Ivy at all costs and if Ivy was not at home, then he would surely know where she was. So, he called him immediately and to Joshua's relief, Kaito picked up the phone.
"Kaito, where are you?"
"I am at the outhouse, Master."
"Then, where is Ivy?"
"Miss is at home, Master." The man replied in confusion.
"She is not at home." Joshua gritted his teeth, his mind clearly unable to think properly now.
"How could that be? She did not tell me about her schedule for today nor did I see her going out." Kaito jumped off his bed and rushed out of the outhouse towards the main house. Where could Ivy go without informing anybody? This was unlike her. She would usually leave a message to Joshua if she were to go without meeting him. This was the first time where neither Joshua nor Kaito knew where she had gone.

Fallout: Vault X
An original novel set in the Fallout universe, written to be accessible to all, featuring unique people and places. Vol.II. out now Fallout: Vault X tells the story of John. A vault dweller, who spent every day of his twenty five years underground. Like his father, and his father before him. Proud to live in the last remaining bastion of humanity, all that survived The Great War of the atomic age. Hidden deep below the surface of the earth, toiling under brutal conditions. Year after year, decade upon decade. All to expand into the natural cave system the Vault occupied, building for the future. However, John knew what his forefathers did not, that everything he’d been taught was a lie. After finishing school at the age of ten, John received his standard issue pipboy. An arm mounted personal computer, worn by everyone in the Vault. Used to coordinate the relentless pace of expansion, needed to work as an apprentice. To learn the craft that would be his life’s work. A noble calling to ensure a future for all that remained of the human race. A quirk of fate saw John equipped not with the crude, clunky, pipboy model his father wore. That almost everyone around him wore. His looked smaller, sleeker, finished in a jet black sheen. And capable of doing far more than its drab counterparts. The world above had been ravaged by atomic flames, yet life clung to its bones. The Red Valley fared better than most in the century since the bombs fell. The clean water and rich soil protected by rolling hills. All spared from direct strikes, for the most part. Life survived here. Trees spawned from charred ground, misshapen, green leaves turned red. Along with simple crops, grown wild at first, then cultivated by the survivors. The scavengers of the old world were inventive, hardy people. All determined to rebuild in the ruins of a world they never knew. In the decades that passed settlements emerged. They grew, spreading along the valley floor. Reclaiming the pre-war remnants of the once industrialised heartland. Salvaging the robotic wonders of a bygone age to build their walls and work their fields. To protect them in the dark of the wasteland. But such things are uncommon in this world, and the rarer something is, the greater its value. And the worth of pre-war technology had not gone unnoticed. The last, real, power in this world rested in the mechanised hands of The Brotherhood of Steel. Forged from the mortally wounded old world military. The Brotherhood used its access to the weapons made for a conflict no one won to strike out into the wastes. Men and women were equipped with advanced armour, aerial transportation, high grade weaponry. Accompanied by the training, strength, and will, to put them to use. They established chapters and set up outputs far and wide. All dedicated to a single purpose. To ensure the technology left abandoned by its long dead creators didn’t fall into the wrong hands. Namely, any hands that were not their own. This is the world John escaped into. A place of horrors brought forth from atomic fire. A place where survival meant battling against the darkness. Fighting a war each day to get to the next. And war...war never changes

Lone: The Wanderer [Dropped Version (includes original draft of the rewrite's first volume)]
Nine-to-five. The daily grind. Life. Painful years of school. Working as a slave for some undeserving corporate big-wig. The monotonous life of unemployment. We all experience this in one way or another, and we can all conclude one thing: it's dull. Such a fact rings true even for the fabled Lone Immortus, a powerful nine-tailed Golden Foxkin. However, what would you do if your monotony was suddenly ground to a halt and you were thrown out of your comfort zone along with a young girl forgotten by time? Perhaps you might have done things differently, been more organised, immediately died, gained control of the world in a matter of days, but this is Lone's tale, not yours. Watching two insecure people struggle to survive and find their place in an unfamiliar land just might be enjoyable to witness. Who knows? One thing's for certain: it won't be an easy path for them to tread, and what could possibly be more entertaining than watching people endure hardships and grow? I know of at least eight gods that would answer with, 'Absolutely nothing.' I wonder, after seeing this journey from start to finish, how would you answer? [Goal of 2 chapters per week, the only exceptions being announced breaks or emergencies] A/N: This story is in the middle of a rewrite, so please forgive any noticeable plot holes and wonky chapter numbers. I am working on it every day, so understanding would be greatly appreciated. The new cover art is a courtesy of the very kind and talented ssddx. This novel is a participant in The Writer's Pledge

A Fool's Journey, or the Vagrancies of a Man in Exotic Lands
What does a sad bastard do when fate, literally, decides to throw him into a fantasy world? Solon just wanted to lead a normal life; work, share some pizza with friends, work, play some videogames or read something, work, maybe sleep?, work... Pretty much the usual, rinse and repeat. It was far from perfect, but life was nicely boring and comfy enough. Truth be told, he had hoped it would go on forever, or until he got married, or until the apocalypse finally decided to bring an end to everything. As far as he could tell, though, the former was about as likely as the latter; not very. And perhaps even somewhat related, if it ever came to it. Unfortunately, he saw himself involved in some sort of cosmic fart that screwed him over, brutally severing his life-plan. Or, maybe, would it be more suitable to say that Fate had other plans? Sure, he's yet to find out exactly what those plans might be, but, at the very least, they do seem to involve him being shoved into another world, fighting off a couple of horrendous creepers, and -almost- an accidental liaison with a baboon. Needless to say, the job doesn't come with dental care, and death seems more likely than retirement... Yep, when he got yoinked out of Earth, there were no princesses waiting for him, no sexy goddesses, and no severe Gandalf-wannabes! Heck, not even a bunch of demonic cultists! All he got for the trouble was a bunch of snarky windows and the honest desire to punch whatever bastard happens to be behind the smug System. Well, that, and a few forced trips to the so-called Tower of Ascension. Not exactly what he would have expected but, on the plus side, he does get to do some magic. Though, not quite the wand-waving kind. Whatever. One thing’s patently clear, though, he’s certainly not the chosen one, nor the summoned hero, nor the Savior. If anything, he himself might be in need of some saving... Just what kind of fool does the System take him for? Please do consider the tags. Also, 'Strong Lead' here means weak to strong, over a decent amount of time, not op from the very beginning. Things to expect: decent grammar, cheeky goats. Things not to expect: Harems, a decent sense of fashion.
