Falling In Love : I Love You, Today And Forever Chapter 533

Though Valerie did not show any expression whatsoever on her face, only she knew how terrified and shocked she was from within. As the assistant continued revealing Jared's misdeeds one by one, her heart only shuddered in fear. 'How could anyone be so despicable and horrible to destroy their own country?' She wondered.
Valerie turned back to see and was secretly relieved that she was not the only one who was mortified by the truth. Ryder and Preston too were stunned. They had only assumed Jared to be involved in the organ trafficking mafia. Who knew that he had a long list of crimes? And what's more, each crime was deadlier than the other. It was enough to instill fear in them if one were to hear it, and Valerie's situation was no less.
In her entire career, she had seen a lot of cases, varying from different levels of torture. She had dealt with rapists, serial killers and even terrorists. But this was the first time she was dealing with someone who fell under all the categories of the criminals she had dealt with. Though she did not have the proof with her, from Maggie's words alone, Valerie knew about the long list of girls Jared had been, and she more or less had a hunch what might have happened to them once he was done with them.
Valarie was in disbelief to think that such a monster was walking around them in society. And what petrified her more was that Maggie had spent months in his lair, trying to save herself from him while she collected proofs against him. Valerie could not even imagine what she must have gone through all these months when she faced the monster almost daily. She was in awe at her capabilities and could not help but commend her greatly in her heart.

Valerie was not the only one who thought that way. Ryder and Preston too had similar thoughts. They too could not help but applaud Maggie's bravery. She was more courageous and confident than them, and they were filled with pride to think that Maggie was their teammate, especially Ryder who was head over heels with her.
Nobody interrupted the assistant, allowing him to disclose all the secrets he knew. When he was finally done, he sighed deeply. "It was not I who planned all these crimes. It is that Jared and his bastard of a Godfather. I just followed his orders. He should be the one sent to the execution chair, not I."
Valerie started chuckling as soon as she heard his words. She shook her head at the man's stupidity. "I am impressed by your foolishness. You have worked for a brilliant criminal all these years, and you still don't know what to speak and what not to speak." Valerie placed her palms on the table and stood up slowly. "Thank you anyway for revealing the truth yourself."
"What do you mean?" The assistant's face lost all its color as soon as he realized what he had done. But he still denied it, unable to accept his stupidity. He was still in denial to think that he had easily fallen for the trap the officer before him had laid out for him.
"You perfectly jumped into the trap we laid out for you, and we did not even have to do anything. Thank you very much for your cooperation." Valerie smiled at him but the smile was filled with ridicule and anger. She turned around to leave the room but stopped short when she recalled something she had forgotten to tell him.
"And for the record, not only Jared, you and all his men who followed his orders will be going to the execution chair. So, brace yourselves and count your days. You never know when it might be your last day on the planet."

"You cannot do this to me, Officer. Help me out of here." The man shouted and tried to move away from his chair. But his hands were cuffed to the desk. So, he could not move much. All his shouts and yells and curses fell on deaf ears. He could only watch the three people leave the room and lock the door after them in horror.
As soon as Valerie left the interrogation room, her legs buckled and she almost fell to the floor. If not for Ryder and Preston holding her in time, she sure would have dropped to the floor. "Oh my God!!! What did I just hear?" She mumbled in shock.
"I know. What the fuck is that man!! He is a monster." Preston was seething in anger, and Ryder was no less furious. He too was livid to think that someone like him was still alive, and they could not kill him, not yet at least. All he wanted to do was unload all bullets in his gun in the man's head. But he deemed this punishment to be far less painful for all the crimes he had committed. He deserved a death so painful that he would beg them to kill him soon to relieve him of his pain.
"What the heck!! It was his Godfather who instigated the war. Who does this? What enmity does he have with our country?" She was still in shock that Jared and his people were directly responsible for the war. And to aid their enemy, they had even sent spies to kill their own men. Anger coursed through Valerie's veins, and she too wanted to chop the man into pieces.
"What do we do now, Valerie? Now that the country is involved, we will have to consult the President and the military. This case has now become a military case too." Preston stated, visibly worried by the turn of events. In just one day, they had found a lot more than they could digest, and they wondered what more was left for them to know.
"I will have to speak with the President. But before that, I need to speak to Maggie. I need to know if she had more pieces of evidence that can aid us to prove Jared's crimes. It will help us deal with him quicker." Valerie pressed her forehead, wondering about the huge headache she would be facing soon. It would surely become chaotic when the nation would find out the dark truth about Jared.
"I agree. I am still amazed to think that Maggie survived all these months in that hell hole." Ryder was now even more desperate to see the girl who had risked her life just so that she could send the criminal to prison.
"I'll talk to her and see what she has in mind. There must be a reason why she has not sent all the proofs she has to us and has kept them to herself."

Madness Led by the Hands
‘Great, no… splendid. It was for naught.’ ‘Naught? Depends. If your desire is to send an army of killers our family’s way, yes indeed. If it’s plain survival you seek, then no.’ ‘They don’t coexist?’ ‘What… don’t tell me you’re still all groggy from the fall. Perhaps in novels, but real life is much tougher–––many more times a drag than anyone can possibly imagine. If dusty history is not a reliable teacher for you, then the pandemic surely took that place. At least that one has the advantage you needn’t be literate to savvy how reality always trumps imagination.’ ‘Whatever you say, whatever you say. So… what now?’ ‘Now? Isn’t it obvious? Now we shall survive. And live a good life.’ ‘Ohh… pretty much everything here has something against this little weird wish of ours. Might you consider?’ ‘Then pretty much everything here is a goner.’ ‘Hm, I don’t like the sound of that. Too much trouble, you see. I’d prefer laying low somewhere safe.’ ‘…nobody told you it’s mutually exclusive, no–––or did you forget about that too?’ ‘Fine, then I wish my future enemies all the best.’ ‘They are undeserving of your pity.’ ‘Of course not. That unlucky bunch won’t ever comprehend the reason behind their demise. Just let me smoke in peace and offer my condolence in advance.’ ‘Idem, let me study alchemy, unobstructed by all, if possible. This also includes you. By the way, are you sure you smoke to offer condolences? It seems like an excuse to me.’ ‘I-it is none. Plain truth, you see?’ ‘Seriously, why did I even ask...?’

Art of Mortality
New Synopsis after chapter 56: Long long ago, there was a mortal who despised the gods and envied the immortals. Why do the mortals have to die when the gods wish them to? Why do worlds have to perish when the gods say so? Why do only immortals get to live forever, why not mortals like him? As his family, friends, and his loved one died, he lamented. He wailed, he cried. He cursed the immortals, blasphemed the gods, spat at the heavens. But he was just a mere mortal. His curses were pointless, his blasphemous words were useless, and his spits only returned back to fall on his face. At last, he thought, enough was enough, he would definitely do something about it. He decided that it was time for the multiverse to know what a mortal can do. He was the first mortal to cultivate. Eventually, after a long struggle, he killed the Immortals, enslaved the Gods, and shattered the heavens. He reshaped the multiverse and rewrote his fate. In the end, he reincarnated as he decided upon a grand scheme, a scheme to rule 'All and Always'. He came up with the concept of what is known today as 'Paragon'. And with this, all of reality, 'All and Always', was finally reforming, according to a Mortal's Wish. Synopsis (Old): In the vast and complex multiverse, what can a mortal accomplish? In the grand scheme of things, what can a mortal change? In truth, what is a mortal, and what is mortality? Being mortal is being ordinary, the same as being trash, or so says The World. "No, mortality is an art, and a true mortal is a grand artist. Being the root of all, a mortal can become anything.", says a young mortal boy. Meet Edward Alexander, a mortal boy walking the path against gods and immortals, fighting to the end to rewrite his destiny, and change the grand scheme of things. Can he really change the grand scheme of things? Or maybe he himself is the Grand Schemer? To know the answer, follow Edward Alexnder on his journey to demonstrate the Art of Mortality.*******

Statless
Summary Alexander Weiss, an intelligent and slightly unusual man, always dreamt of becoming a mage. Sadly, reality is harsh and even his best efforts never allowed him to achieve his goal during his lifetime... or did they? One has to be careful what they wish for, lest they might live to see it fulfilled. Description Follow Alex, a man whose pursuit of magic could not even be stopped by his non-magical reality, going as far as to create it himself, only to encounter an unsurmountable obstacle shortly before achieving his lifes goal, denying him all access to these powers. His journey will take him through a miraculous world, full of wonders, magic and manic beasts trying to devour him! He will learn much about this world during his adventures, exploring individual aspects of the System and the various monsters that came from it... or did they? Strong points What you'll get from this novel is the following (read with overly enthusiastic salesman-voice) : • An ending! I'll complete it, no matter what. Well, not "no matter what", but as long as I don't unexpectedly end, this novel won't either! • Good grammar! Might not be perfect, but it's definitely good enough to not detract from the story in the slightest. I'll also fix any reported mistakes as soon as possible, be they grammatical, syntactical or just inconsistencies. • No plot-armor! Or plot-weapons! Or plot-... potions? And no plot-holes! If you see some, it's most likely information that is being witheld for future revelations! But in the (hopefully) very unlikely case of such a vile beast being encountered, please inform me immediately and I'll see to slaying it without grace! (Translation: If you see plot-holes, tell me and I'll fix them) • Logic! [Hidden : Spoilers][Hidden : More Spoilers] [Moved to Chapter [Hidden Spoiler]'s Author's Note] Marvelous, I know! • Blue Boxes! And maybe something more! • Sensible retroactive edits! Not to be confused with radioactive edits! You'll not have to re-read previous chapters, even if they get some major edits. If they were to receive new information, I'll add that very information to the newly released chapters too, in a reasonable way. • Realism! Shocking, I know! Especially considering the tag related to that and the point about "Logic!". This also means that the story will be... well, realistically depicting a pretty messed up world. Don't expect bunnies... at least not cute ones. • Relatively faster paced! No long and boring descriptions of irrelevant stuff. There will be some longer descriptions about important things, but that's gonna be necessary world- and/or character-building! • Short action! Might not be a plus for some, but you won't have to look at a whole (or, god forbit, multiple) chapter describing a fight against the same enemy... • Strategy and hard progression! It's a dog-eat-dog world! No grinding/power-creep! If you're up against three enemies of your level at once, you've already lost! • Understanding! It will be mostly about discovering the wonders of this new world and how it became like that, all while trying to survive. So there will be enough action nonetheless! • Humor! Sometimes dark, sometimes light, always at the worst moment! • Constructive critics, welcome! Destructive critics, nope... I can handle criticism though, so don't go easy on me! Just make sure it's really a mistake when complaining about something. • Will add more in the future! If I can think of more stuff...
