Blood Evolution System Chapter 171

"You've defeated the fifth monster wave, me, so I am giving you guys a chance to rest!" Melody said, happily giving them a chance to rest in this trial that should not have existed originally.
"For how long?" Vincent asked while looking at Melody.
"Umm, let me think about it... yes!" Melody's eyes brightened as she came to a decision, and she said, "You've five minutes to rest and get ready to face the next five monster waves, one after another without any rest in between."
Hearing her words, everyone looked relieved. Fighting and traveling nonstop for the past several hours, resting for only a bit in between, have exhausted them to their bones, and they wanted to rest, even if that rest last for merely five minutes.
Most of them sat down, drank water to quench their thirst, ate a fasting pill that kills hunger to satisfy their needs to have a meal.
Melody flapped her wings, appearing next to Vincent in the blink of an eye, sitting on his shoulder and whispering the following words into his ears, "You must never falter. Never fail, not till you reach the next trial! There are a lot of items eating dust in the treasure hall, rusting with time, unable to see the light of day. I hope you would defy my expectations and do the unthinkable, performing better than the ones before, gaining her acceptance, and taking out everything from this place."
Leilani looked at them from the sides, feeling annoyed that someone got to sit on his shoulder when she had never done it herself!
She soon shook her head, unable to believe that she was jealous of her for such a petty reason.
"By her, do you mean the Iron Clad Lady?" Vincent asked.

"Yes!" Melody said, "Do you want to hear a story?"
"Sure, only if you increase the time we get to rest."
"Okay," Melody said, snapping her fingers, causing the sand in the hourglass to move in reverse, filled the upper with enough sand that it would take thirty minutes to end.
"Satisfied?" She asked.
"Yeah, that's good enough," Vincent replied, indicating to the world that thirty minutes is a good enough deal for him to have her ears eaten out by her.
Purple Fairy Melody recalled things about the past, telling them to him.
In the past, although challengers far stronger than Vincent came to this place, attending the trials and passing most to all of them, they weren't able to break the record set by the best out of them all. It's because the more powerful a person, the stronger the monsters will be, and the harder the trials will be.
The higher the number of people that came to take the trial as a team, the more the number of monsters in a trial.
So there weren't many, who managed to make it to the end, and those who managed to do so, conquering all the trials, didn't gain the acceptance of the will left behind in the castle by the Iron Clad lady, and thus they only managed to take away an item from this place.
Through there was indeed a person who was strong enough to rummage through the castle because of an undisclosed reason and even gained the acceptance of her will, but he refused to take anything away as he was already feeling bad for trespassing in her tomb and was disturbing her eternal rest.
"Who was he?" Vincent asked, curious about the person in her tale.
"A human, a devil, a God!" She replied, giving him an eccentric answer that made no sense whatsoever to him.

"Didn't you say that he was only a single person?" Vincent asked, a bit baffled by her words.
"Yes, but he gave off the feeling of all three. It was as if he was born human, but grew up to become both devil and a God!" She replied, still feeling a chill up her spine by remembering him.
"..." Vincent looked at her in confusion, speechlessly scratching his head, wondering whether she is pulling her leg or something along the way.
"It's hard to explain it in words. You won't understand what I meant by my words unless you meet him yourself. If you do, then make sure you don't get on his nerves, or else nothing, not even a God, would be able to save you from getting annihilated in the blink of an eye."
"Is he that strong?" Vincent said in a voice filled with disbelief. He was strong enough to take down the demonic realm monster, yet here he was, listening to a fairy say that someone can annihilate him, even if he is protected by a so-called God!
If this isn't her trolling him, then he didn't know what it was.
"If I say that he could defeat my master with a single move and fight toe to toe with the king of time, would you believe me?" Melody said, praising the mysterious person.
"Whatever you say," Vincent said. "Anyway, why did you tell me about all that?"
"If you perform well in this and the next trial, there's a high chance that the will of my master will acknowledge you or give you a chance to prove yourself worthy. If you managed to prove yourself worthy, then you would obtain everything she left behind."
Vincent's mouth salivated just by hearing her words, but he didn't let greed get the better of him.
"I will do my best."
"Be strong. I wish you luck."
[Congratulations! You've gained the favor of a fairy! The will of the second head of the family, the Northern Duke, is extremely pleased with such an outcome. You'll gain a special helping hand during your next evolution!]
[The Fairy has used her powers to give you two blessing, one that gives an increase in luck and the other that decrease the chances of your death by a large margin]
[Your Luck has increased by three times!]

Gaslgiht
There is a common line of questioning that falls upon students within their first moments at Kingsly. “Why?”. The student asks, “Why am I here?”. This is a futile line of questioning. There are those who remember, and those who do not. I’ll spare you the technical explanation — that’s what we have teachers for. The jist is as follows: those who remember are... how do I put this... more likely. They occupy more time. and the space that time has allowed them — the pertinent amount — is experienced no matter what. Allow me to offer you a bit of personal information: I am not one who remembers. There is no time relevant to me, no space that I occupy. I exist by carving myself here, and continue to exist in the same fashion. You would do well to follow suit. Why am I here? Because I force myself to be. Because the universe, the universes, for all its kicking and screaming, cannot escort me out.
