Chronicles Of The Shura Clan Chapter 267

Six Months Later, The Guardian Mountain Peak.
It was already close to midnight and the moon hung high above the night sky like a giant shining disco ball.
Its moonlight was like a diffuse ocean above, lessening the inky blackness of the night. It was accompanied by numerous shining stars which hung above as if strung in the sky by some invisible strings, lighting the whole world from its tenebrous.
At this moment, on top of the Guardian Peak, two figures could be seen sitting quietly on the grassy ground while admiring the endless shining stars in the sky which were like a beautiful, surreal blanket above their heads.
One of them was a young man dressed in a robe that was even whiter than snow. He was handsome to the point of being a bit demonic, almost resembling a girl. He had a melancholic look on his face.
As for the other person, he was a middle-aged man with an azure robe. In just like the young man, he also had a melancholic look on his as well.
They each had a huge bottle of wine in their hands. The bottles of wine were half full. From time to time, they would take a sip without saying a word to each other.
Another hour has passed and they were still sitting in the same position while slowly drinking their wine and admiring the beautiful starry sky without saying a word.
"Son, you know. In my entire life, what I am most proud of is you Ling Chen, my son." Suddenly said the middle-aged man as he broke the silence.
"And I am sure that your mom you would have felt the same way if she was still alive. The happiest moment in her life was when she was pregnant with you."

"She would caress her stomach every day with such love and affection that even I was jealous of you."
"You were the most precious thing in her life. All those years she was pregnant with you, she never complained even when her health was failing day by day."
Listening to her father speak, Ling Chen didn't say anything. He quietly sat there while listening to him.
Even though his eyes were covered with a magic circle with numerous small runes and marking inside which prevented one to see his emotions through his eyes, one could tell that he was extremely sad at the moment.
"I loved your mother a lot. She was the love of my life. I didn't want to lose her so I suggested her to kill you while you were still in her stomach because I knew that she would die right after giving birth to you but she refused."
"She stopped talking for ten years after that. She even swore to commit suicide if I were to do something to her baby. Her love for you was beyond anything I've ever seen."
"Knowing that I couldn't do anything to change her mind, I gave up and started to support her. While I was doing my best to save her, I also spent a lot of time with her because I knew that it might be my last."
"You know, even when you were born and her life force was slowly fading away, she was still looking at you with love and tenderness despite knowing everything." Explained Ling Tian.
At this moment, as much as he tried to hold it in, the pain and the grief came out like an uproar from his throat in the form of a silent scream.
And just like that, a single tear slid down from his warm, butterscotch eyes, followed by another one, and another one, until soon, a steady stream of salty tears flowed it's way down his cheek, releasing the sadness and sorrow that has been held inside of him for all this time. However, he did not make a sound.

"What I am trying to tell you son is that your mother exchanged her life for yours. She knew before anyone just how amazing you would become."
"You don't have to worry about me or this place. You can go and explore the universe in peace and seeking the answers to all your questions."
"If one day you are tired and need a rest, the door of the Heavenly Demon Sect will always be open for you."
"Remember, believe in yourself, steel your resolve. Don't let others sway you from your true path. As long as you live your life without regrets, be true to yourself, be true to your beliefs, and that will be more than enough."
"That's all I have to say to you, son. Stop worrying about me and this world. It's time for you to leave this world and start your journey." Ling Tian said as his facial expression softened and smiled affectionately at Ling Chen.
Ling Tian wore a dignified expression, full of pride, as he was the proud father of Ling Chen, the little devil. He then patted Ling Chen on the shoulder before he stood up and left without saying anything.
However, as he was leaving, a lone tear traced down his cheek, and just like that, the floodgates opened.
As though he was afraid of being seen by Ling Chen, he suddenly transformed into a streak of blue light as he flew in the sky and disappeared.
Now, there was only Ling Chen sitting on the grassy ground of the Guardian Mountain Peak. He slowly wiped away the tears in his eyes. It was the first that he ever cried since he was born.
Despite his strong Will and power, he wasn't able to hold the tears in his eyes as he was listening to his father talking about his mother.
After wiping away the tears in his eyes, he slowly lifted his head skyward towards the endless stars before he said with a slight smile on his face." Thank you, mother. No matter where I go or how strong I become , you will always be in my heart. My love for you is eternal and everlasting."

The Madec Legacy
The dawn of Emotion Based A.I.s is here, John is the fifth test subject to have an AI implemented in his brain, and so far the first one to survive. Blinded by the dream of immortality, the researchers push the tests to inhumane standards. John is obligated to take part in sessions of torture designed to test the limits of the AI influence over the physical and mental health. What was supposed to be a new beginning in life turns into living hell. An (un)lucky twist ends his life. John then reincarnates with his AI in a new world where a System influences the interaction between Magic and Matter. With seemingly limitless potential and a game-like system influencing the world, the hero sets on his journey. --AUTHOR NOTE, PLEASE READ-- I will state here my promises to you, potential reader: 1. No harem! I don't trust myself to make a harem feel natural or healthy, I never met any person who has a personality that can adapt and live in a harem for reasons that are not monetary, so I can't draw inspiration from real life. Sorry!; 2. The enemies will not be bland and illogically mean. Some may feel like that at first, but I will take great care in fleshing them out, trust me. You may end up hating some, but you won't be able to deny that they had their reasons for what they did; 3. I am using a paid (and expensive) automated editor tool, and I take longer to write because I take my time in editing the stuff. I am aiming to improve and I will not shy away from constructive criticism, nor take offense for no reason; 4. Characters will die and will suffer, some will get over the tragedies and improve, others will not be as resilient. 5. This novel has a lot of ground to cover, it is neither a short story, a manual on crafting, or the script of some action scene. There will be both time skips and oversimplifications of some actions for the sake of moving the story forward. Time skips will be more prominent in the first 30 chapters. I will describe crafting processes and fights with more detail if they are essential for the chapter; 6. If I took my time describing something, it's because it is important. I hate novels that waste time describing useless stuff. If you skim over something, the chances are that something in the future will not make sense. I am an adept of "Chekhov's gun" principle; 7. I already have 31k words on my auxiliary documents, I have a plan for the story, and I will not be making changes even if someone ends up noticing some foreshadowing and figures out what will happen. The story comes first. 8. I have a wife, a job that demands 9h every day and courses related to my job (lawyer) three days of the week, it's unlikely that I will be able to do mass releases at all. I will have a healthy amount of chapters to be able to post at least 1 chapter every day continually. Don't worry. 9. I will read all the comments. I will listen to all you have to say and will try my best to accommodate demands as long as they do not hamper the path I prepared. 10. There is an arc that spans the entire novel. Each volume will be an arc in itself while progressing a little bit of the main arc. Every arc will have one or more main antagonists. I think that's it! Thank you for reading it all. Have an awesome time reading my first novel!!

The Weather Vane
This is the first few chapter of my new book available on Amazon. The beginning is very light and fun, but more mature content comes later. From medieval fantasy to ultra high-tech to dinosaurs, The Weather Vane is a grippingly fast-paced adventure full of fun and excitement, literary flourish, and colorful characters. A group of ascendant masters find themselves in the afterlife and learn that they are newly recruited into the cosmic battle of good versus evil. Before they can join the fight, shipwreck strikes and they are lost in the ether. Stranded in a magical land beyond the reaches of the universe, The Weather Vane follows our crew of heroes as they try to piece things back together even while The Dark Lord’s forces march, maraud, and murder at every turn. Themes of darkness chase the overall levity of The Weather Vane which suffers not a lull as the climax begins near the beginning of the book and drives on through the greatly satisfying finish. The most epic of epics.

In That Moment of Suffering

Given unexpected freedom, Senna decides to live her life to the fullest and enjoy everything this new world of swords and magic has to offer her. Unfortunately, the scars of her past run very deep causing numerous problems for both Senna and the people around her. Note: A random, story I wanted to write on a whim using a more cliche transported setting. The story starts a bit dark, but becomes lighter in the main story.
