The Tale Of Three Sisters Chapter 19

On the 3rd day.
Ramza woke up early in the morning, he found himself in an awkward situation, his arms were practically embracing Kate's body.
He slowly disengages his arms from her body, careful not to wake her up, fearing she might accuse him of taking advantage of her.
After a few minutes of careful maneuvering, he finally freed his body from hers. He immediately exited the wagon and checked the surroundings, everything looks well outside, except the ground is muddy.
He should prepare breakfast before his princess wakes up, he grinned. Calling her his princess is making his knees turn mushy like jelly. He feels giddy, which is kind of silly.
The green bananas were now ripe. He took some of the fingers and put them in the pot. He was able to salvage some dry woods last night. It will be enough to cook the bananas.
He chose an area where it's grassy and easy to dry. He opened his hand, then a bright light emerges from his palm turning the ground dry.
Done, he picked up three stones to make a makeshift stove and placed down the dry woods in between them and make the fire.
By the time Kate woke up, Ramza already finished cooking the banana, ready to eat.
Kate went down the wagon and Rama pointed to her the area where it's safe to do her morning ritual.
Done doing her business behind the bushes, she returned to the clearing and wash her hands. She smiled broadly upon seeing the cooked bananas. "Wow! Did you finish cooking already? Fantastic! You're the coolest guy I ever know," she grinned.
"Yeah, I know," he joked. "Eat now while the banana's still hot," he said.
"Alright," she picked up one banana and start munching on it. "Delicious!"
Ramza also munches on the banana.
"I missed eating roasted chicken with rice!" she declared jokingly.
Ramza nods his head. "Alright, I'll go hunting for a wild chicken nearby," he said wanting to please her.

"No, need! I'm just joking. I don't want to impose on you," she said while shaking her head.
"Okay — as you say so," he said and continue eating the banana.
Kate wanted to travel beside Ramza on the front seat and watched the horses moving in action. She thinks that would be exciting than staying idly inside the wagon, alone.
"For today, I want to sit beside you on the front seat while you are driving the horses," she declared.
Ramza stared at her face for a moment, he groaned inwardly, 'Man, this is getting harder.'
She looked at him and raised her brows. "What's the problem Ramza? You don't want me messing up with your job?" she asked.
He shook his head. "Nah, it's okay," he said.
They finished devouring the boiled banana and packed up their things to continue their journey.
Kate was having a good time sitting beside Ramza on the front seat directly facing the horses' rear.
The wind was blowing her hair away from her face.
"Having fun?" he asked the smiling girl beside him.
"Yessss!" she gushes. "I never know it would be this fun! I should have done it on the first day," she chattered merrily. "Can I take the rein of the horses?" she asked.
Ramza shook his head. "No way! It only takes a minor mistake and the horses will gallop fast and we might get thrown out of the wagon. I don't want you to get hurt. I hope you understand," he said, feeling concerned for her well-being.
Kate smiled. "It's okay, I won't force you to hand me the rein," she said.
"Are you upset?" he asked and studied her face.
"No, I'm not. I'm glad that you're after my safety and only want to protect me," she said and winked at him.
Ramza smiled, there she goes again, winking at her. He finds it so cute and adorable! It made his heart beat faster.

All of a sudden, the horses swirled...
"Holy!" Kate yelp and grabbed Ramza's waist instantly in order not to fall from the wagon.
"Are you okay, Kate?" he pulled the horses in a full stop.
"Yeah, I'm okay. I'm just shaken a little bit," she answered.
"Would you like to go back inside the wagon? At least there — you're safe," he suggested.
She shook her head. "Nah. I like spending my time here with you. It's boring inside the wagon. But when I'm with you, I don't feel bored," she told him, her eyes sparkling.
Ramza smiled. "Alright, stay with me, then..."
They continue their journey side by side.
During lunchtime.
They settled again in the riverbank, so far, it's the 4th river they've come across during their voyage.
"You want roasted fish or roasted chicken for our lunch?" Ramza asked her.
Kate giggled a little. "Can I have both?" she asked him with a puppy dog's eyes.
Ramza smiled. "Alright Princess, I shall provide all your request, just give me a few minutes. But first, I'll catch fish so that you can start cooking for lunch then afterward I'm going to hunt for wild chicken nearby," he said.
Kate laughed a little, she's liking the way he calls her princess, she finds it cute and endearing. "Hey, I'm just joking. You don't have to find a wild chicken for me, I'm okay with the fish since they're easier to catch in the river..."
"Alright, I'll catch the fish for you," he said in a casual tone.
"Can you please make fire first?" she asked him.
"Sure," he answered.
After gathering the stone and firewood in one place, and making the fire, Ramza went down into the river to catch freshwater fish.
A few minutes later he was able to catch ten medium-size trout fish, he cut banana leaves nearby and put the fish on it, he cleaned them one by one, then he emerges from the water and handed the ready to cook fish to Kate.
"Oh my, yummy fish, thank you!" she beamed.
Ramza turned around to find a chicken, hope he can catch one today.
Kate was already busy rubbing salt on the fish, she will roast it later after the rice is cooked.
Ramza inspected the tall bushes twenty meters away from the riverbank, 'coz he saw the bushes moving around that area, maybe he could find a wild chicken there.
When he checked out the area, he saw one of his kind standing behind the tall bushes, grinning, holding three chickens in his hands.
"Are you looking for this?" the winged creature handed him the chickens.
"Wow, thank you, Simus! You're quick!" He only took two chickens with him. "This will be enough for us until tomorrow," Ramza said.
"And what about this one?" Simus asked, holding the remaining chicken.
"You can roast it yourself after we're gone. I'll leave behind some salt for you. Trust me, the roasted chicken here tastes delicious!" he winked at him.
"Okay, I believed you," Simus responded.
"I'd better go, thanks for this!" Ramza said and left the bushes.
He went back to the river and cleaned the chickens ready for roasting.
After cleaning the chicken, he went back to the clearing and joined Kate in roasting the fishes and the chickens.
One hour later, Kate was done roasting the fish.
They start eating their meals, at the same time roasting the two chickens above the fire.
Another two hours went by and they had finished roasting the chicken for dinner later.
"Time to resume our journey. I'll do the cleaning up here, just go and wash your hands in the river," he instructed him.
"Okay, Boss!" she grinned.
A few minutes later.
Kate and Ramza left the riverbank and resumed their journey.
While Simus was left in the clearing roasting his chicken after rubbing salt on it.
