Zemeth, Ramza, and Jegun arrived on the island through the portal just when the break of dawn was taking place on the horizon.

Bhork and Dredo were jogging on the beach during that time because the weather is good.

Zemeth called them to inform them of what happened last night. "Guys...the castle releases a lot of monsters last night. We have done everything we could to kill them, just to save the people from death. But still, death was unavoidable. I'm afraid that the vampires will release another batch of monsters anytime, either during daylight or nighttime. To make sure the monsters can not reach the populous town, we need to station some men in the castle to monitor the situation there day and night. Make a group of two, if something comes up, send a message right away to inform us. Wear a camouflage, you can't be seen by anyone," he warned them.

"On more thing... use your teleportation technique this time for quick movement, times are changing. We got to show those monsters that they wish they never get out of the castle!" Zemeth said.

"Okay, we will head to the castle after we inform Ogeme and Simuz," Bhork said.

Zemeth, Ramza, and Jegun hurriedly entered the house and went upstairs to sleep.

Meanwhile, in the mountain.

Esmeralda was not able to sleep right away after lying in bed. She was still reeling from the shock and horror after seeing the monsters exiting the castle in glee. They go rampaging into the small villages and slaughtered anyone, either animals or humans.

If things will go on just like that every night...what's going to happen? People will die in numbers!

What if the vampires will release more than five hundred or one thousand monsters at the same time? It would be super hard to track them one by one. Blood will be spilled into the ground especially in towns.

The horrific thoughts make Esmeralda wide awake. While Vearah was already sleeping soundly in her bedroom.

It was only after one hour of nonstop thinking, finally, slumber catches up with Esmeralda and she dozed off.

In the castle.

Early morning, Maxwell sent his brothers outside the castle to check on the progress of the monsters. He was expecting mass slaughter in the neighboring areas near the castle. One hour later, Lothaire and Zenon returned with bad news.

"I can't see living monsters anywhere, I think they all died!" Xenon reported to his elder brother.

"That's right! We have seen burnt and dead monsters body everywhere. Aside from that, we discovered human severed body parts as well. I think before the monsters were annihilated by the enemies they were able to kill some villagers successfully," added Lothaire.

Maxwell's hands formed into a fist. His eyes flashing with anger! He did not expect this! Who are the enemies? It could be Esmeralda, Ivy's boyfriend, and the others who successfully escaped the castle. The people in the neighboring areas cannot fight the monsters that are much stronger than an average human.

"Who are the enemies this time?" asked Xenon.

"It's the Nephilim race!" answered Lothaire.

Maxwell nodded his head. He looked at his siblings. He was not sure anymore if he did kill Ivy's lover, maybe that guy survived the poison he planted in his body using the knife he uses in stabbing him in the neck. "Don't worry much about our failure last night. We only lose two hundred monsters that are too few casualties...to think that we have at least a thousand monsters waiting to be unleashed from the monster's pit. And don't forget, we still have our armies of dark shadows as reserved," he reminded his siblings.

Xenon and Lothaire smiled feeling relieved.

"Now that we know we have enemies, we can no longer release two hundred monsters in one night. The enemies can easily wipe them out. I'm planning to release five hundred monsters in one night. Let see if our enemies can still kill them all," Maxwell's lips twitched in amusement.

"That's a brilliant plan, brother. They won't be able to wipe out five hundred monsters at the same time!" Xenon wore a smug look on his face.

"I'm sure next time, the monsters will finally eliminate the enemies, I'm confident of that!" Lothaire said confidently.

Maxwell rose to his feet. "I'm going back to my room, brothers. Talk to you, guys, later," he said and left the room.

Inside Maxwell's bedroom.

His happiness was shattered after his brothers informed him that the two hundred monsters they released last night were already slaughtered by the enemies.

He was pacing back and forth in his room, furious that his monsters were only able to inflict small tragedy on the people. It's still a small victory for him. The gossips and rumors will spread like wildfire soon enough and everyone will fear the existence of the monsters. It will torture the heart of the masses giving them extreme horror and anxiety.

He will release five hundred hungry monsters into the public as follow up, that will be fun!

He grinned maniacally.

Back in the mountain.

Esmeralda woke up late in the morning, precisely near lunchtime. After exiting the toilet, she left her room to find her mentor.

She found Ella and Kate in the living room.

Kate smiled at her. "Good morning, Granny! Let's go to the dining table. I will prepare your breakfast," she offered.

"Okay," Esmeralda replied.

They went to the dining area and Kate put the dishes on the table.

"Bon Appetit, Granny!" Kate said.

"Have you eaten breakfast with your sister already?" Esmeralda asked her.

Kate nodded her head. "Yes!"

Esmeralda holds the spoon and scooped porridge laden with strawberry bits from the bowl and put it in her mouth. "Did my teacher Vearah already eaten her breakfast?"

Kate nodded her head. "Yes..."

"Where is she?"

"She told me that she will go down in the mountain and go to the forest to gather more roots from the Drilizir Tree to make a lot of poison powder," Kate answered. "Granny, why the Immortal Vearah wants to make a lot of poison, what it is intended for?" she asked in confusion.

Esmeralda sighed. "We encounter lots of monsters last night outside the castle..."

Kate's eyes widened. "Huh? You mean..." she covered her mouth in shock remembering the terrifying look those hungry monsters gave her when they saw her above the magical net on her first night in the forsaken castle.

"Yes...my worst nightmare has finally arrived! The monsters went on a rampage and slaughtered several village people in the neighboring areas of the castle. Severed human torso, arms, head, and intestines were scattered on the ground eaten by those monsters. It was a horrific sight to see!" Esmeralda said. She halted eating the porridge for a moment.

Kate was shaking in fear. "Granny! Can the monsters reach this mountain?" she asked, alarmed.

"No, this mountain is very far. The monsters have no idea where this mountain is located. You and your sister are safe here," Esmeralda answered.

Kate sigh in relief. "Thank God! If those monsters will come after me and my sister... we will be dead for sure!" she said in a tensed voice. "What happened last night, Granny? Why did you and Granny Vearah arrive home late?" she asked.

"We hunt the monsters one by one. Because if we don't hunt and annihilate them, they will kill all the innocent people that they will find in that area," Esmeralda replied.

"I'm glad you and Granny Vearah were able to go home safely last night, Granny," Kate said, feeling grateful that nothing bad happens to her two favorite grannies.

"We're safe for now. I'm just not sure what's going to happen next," Esmeralda murmured.

Kate stopped asking questions so that Esmeralda can finish eating her porridge.

A few minutes later, Esmeralda finished eating.

"Granny, when can we enter the castle so that we can rescue my sister?" Kate asked.

"We need perfect timing to enter the castle. You don't need to go with me anymore. I will go there alone. I still need to discuss the plan with the others," Esmeralda replied and stood up. "I'm going to the flower garden to relax and unwind," she said and left the dining area.

Kate put the dirty dishes in the sink and began washing them.

"Sister, you need my help?" Ella asked.

"No need, I'm just washing this bowl and the spoon. We will prepare a dish for lunch in a while. Let's collect eggs from the chicken shade, as well as herbs and spices, and make a delicious egg soup for lunch. Then we also need to catch some fish and grilled it over the fire," Kate said.

Ella smiled. "Okay, I'll wait for you outside..."

Done with her task, Kate wiped her hands with the dry kitchen clothe, then left the dining room going to the backyard with her sister to gather some eggs and then catch some fish for lunch.

At the flower garden.

Esmeralda was sitting on the wooden bench, admiring the colorful flowers in full bloom. She loves this place... so peaceful and wonderful. This amazing place can soothe her troubled mind and her troubled soul.

She closed her eyes and enjoyed the gentle breeze caressing her skin, blowing her hair away from her face.

After the bloodshed and carnage last night... this is a welcome relief.

Today is a good day to enjoy the beauty of nature and indulge in relaxation, surrounded by the beautiful flowers that brighten her despondent mood.
