"Kill them!"
A burst of shouts came from below.
In an instant, those who were fighting against the Daemons all rushed towards Locke and Hathaway.
Even though there were Daemons destroying the town, they did not seem to care. It seemed that Locke and Hathaway were even more hateful than the Daemons.
"What's going on?"
Hathaway could not help but frown at the situation.
"Who cares. Since they want to kill me, I'll show them no mercy!" Locke's eyes flashed as he ordered his Divine Dragon to use Dragon Breath!
"Roar!"
The Divine Dragon raised its head and let out a long roar.
The soundwaves from the dragon roar turned into a ripple and spread rapidly.
The terrifying sound waves shook the enemies around until blood flowed out of their seven orifices.
Some people even exploded into a bloody mist, without even having the chance to scream.
"So strong!"
In a dark corner of Mountain City, a man clad in black armor and carrying a heavy sword on his back could not help but let out a gasp of surprise when he saw Locke's explosive battle prowess.
"No wonder the city lord likes these two so much. I see." A sinister smile appeared on the corner of the man's mouth.
Then, he used a secret technique that no one in earshot could hear, he ordered the imperial guards in the sky, "We must take them down no matter what. They are the culprits behind the Daemons that are invading the Mountain City!"
"Protecting Mountain City is our duty!"
"Those who invade the mountain city shall be cut into pieces!"
Upon hearing the man's voice, the imperial guards immediately roared in unison, raising their morale.
The Daemons' sudden invasion had woken up almost all the civilians in the city. Upon noticing Locke and Hathaway's figure, they immediately prayed for the imperial guards' victory!

The invader — Locke said to Hathaway, "They're treating us as invaders."
"But we haven't done a thing!" Hathaway was puzzled.
'The Daemons were the ones that invaded Mountain City. What do they have anything to do with us?'
"There might be a misunderstanding." Locke suggested.
Then, he shouted at the guards, "You misunderstood. We are not invaders!"
However, the guards did not seem to hear him. They continued to charge forward, their eyes burning with the flames of hatred.
"We must defend Mountain City!"
Countless guards roared like thunder.
Following which, they charged towards Locke and his Divine Dragon.
"Damn it, they refuse to listen." Locke cursed.
At the same time, he ordered his Divine Dragon to defend against the attacks of the guards.
Then, without hurting the guards, he retaliated.
Locke was working under the assumption that it was a misunderstanding. As such, he did not treat the guards as his enemies.
However, he could not use words to resolve the misunderstanding.
Locke was in a dilemma.
If he fled, he would be chased by the guards.
His goal was to travel around the world with Hathaway, not to be runaways.
However, if he were to stay in Mountain City, he would have to face the imperial guards' attacks.
Even though the imperial guards could not inflict any major harm to him, they had the advantage of numbers.
Sooner or later, his mana would run out, and he could no longer summon his Battle Beasts to protect him.
"Stop!"
At this moment, a majestic voice sounded out.
The moment the voice sounded out, everyone stopped attacking.
The imperial guards all looked towards the west.
A middle-aged man riding a six-winged lion appeared in everyone's sight.
"Who is he?"
Locke asked in confusion.
At the same time, the System's screen appeared in his sight, displaying the information of the six-winged lion.

Upon realizing that the Six-winged Demonic Lion was a Stage 3 Battle Beast, Locke was stunned.
He did not expect such an expert to exist in Mountain City. Furthermore, the Battle Beast was rose gold rank.
With such a Battle Beast in his possession, he had a limitless future before him.
'Could he be the city lord of Mountain City?'
However, the guards' greetings immediately dispelled Locke's suspicions.
"General Accius!"
Upon noticing the man, the guards immediately bowed and greeted respectfully.
When the man in the dark corner of the mountain city saw Accius, he asked in a low voice, "Why is he back?"
Then, he scolded Accius, "Why can't you pick a better time to return?"
On the other side, Accius asked the imperial guards, "Why did you attack them?"
The imperial guards glared at Locke and Hathaway and replied respectfully, "They are the culprits behind the Daemons that are attacking Mountain City!"
After hearing this explanation, Accius frowned and shifted his dignified gaze to Locke and Hathaway.
Locke calmly looked at him, ignoring his dignified gaze as if he was communicating with an old friend.
After a moment, Accius retracted his gaze and calmly said, "They aren't the ones who are commanding the Daemons. You don't have to chase after them anymore. Hurry up and protect our citizens."
Even after hearing Accius' order, the imperial guards did not immediately move. Instead, they stood on the spot, looking somewhat troubled.
"What? Do my words mean nothing to you all!?" Accius shouted sternly. He gave off an invisible pressure that made the imperial guards tremble.
"I asked them to attack. Of course your words are useless."
At this moment, a man's voice entered everyone's ears.
Upon hearing the voice, Locke and Hathaway immediately looked around to see who was speaking.
They wanted to see who was trying to frame them.
They looked in the direction of the voice and saw a middle-aged man in black iron armor standing on the roof of a building.
'Who is he?'
Locke mentally asked.
On the other side, Accius also saw the middle-aged man.
"Asgela, the imperial guards don't think anything's wrong. Don't you feel it too? These two Beastmasters aren't the ones controlling the Daemons!" Accius'calm voice contained a trace of anger, as if he was blaming the black-armored man.
"Hmph!" Asgela snorted and said, "I don't need you to tell me that, but killing these two Beastmasters is the city Lord's order. Are you going to disobey the city lord?"
Accius was surprised. 'To think that this was the city lord's order.'
It was not just him, however. Locke and Hathaway felt the same way as well. They did not expect the city lord to want their lives.
"We've just arrived at Mountain City and have never done anything out of line. Why is the city Lord making things difficult for us?" Locke couldn't help but ask in a stern voice.
"Outsiders like you have no right to question the city lord's orders!"Asgela shouted angrily.
"If you can't give me a reasonable explanation, what will you do when I destroy Mountain City?"Locke was annoyed by Asgela's attitude.
Asegla wanted to kill him for no reason, and he even said it so righteously. He had never seen such a shameless person before throughout his life.
