Master Of None Chapter 683

"So we will need the fire elemental spirit to help again? How will you spirit forge when the core is mostly done?" Walker wasn't sure what the process would be once the core had cooled. He thought that the fire would be needed to forge but not that the core would be cooled already.
"We need to add the elements mana crystals and shape the core properly. As it is now there are some rough surfaces that will hinder the runes we carve." This made more sense with the elders' explanation. If they needed to inlay the for elemental crystals in to the metal it would make more sense. They would need to carve and push the crystals in to place using multiple tools and a lot of mana.
"Also, when we say cool we mean holding its shape cool. But soft enough to mold and manipulate still." Grey realized that the elder had left some things to assume and that Walker would be better off with more specific information since he was absorbing everything he heard.
"Oh, I see. But would it be better if you could cool it faster and then work on it?" Walker was wondering if the cooling was important to the process or if it was just something they were forced to wait on.
"Actually, if it was cooled faster it would be better. The more mana that it retains while cooling the better. But if we add heated oil or water to it to cool it then we would warp the metal with uneven cooling." This worry was one that any blacksmith had and Walker understood well. If the item warped then it could be seen as a failure due to the weaknesses it would have.

"I think I can help with that." Remey walked in to the room and stood in front of the mold. "I was teaching the alchemists how to make my basic potion and decided that the older one could join me in the alchemy guild when I received a quest to rush here and help with a bow. Now you are making some round ball and can't even cool it properly."
Remey had a skill that would allow her to cool the potion she was making. However, it was a skill that cooled the item she was directing the skill at. It would pull the heat out of it without directly removing elemental mana. It was a skill intended for potions but easily could be used in other situations.
Remey held out her hands and began to use her mana on the skill. The room was instantly pushed down in temperature. Midnight shot her head up to find that it was Remey that was making it colder and held her growl back. If it had been someone else she would have been annoyed because she was enjoying the heat that Walker and the fire spirit had made.
The group watched as the mold cooled and the elder kept an eye on it. He was sure that this was some form of perfect cooling that they had not ever had before. "This is an alchemy skill? Why don't our alchemists use this in the forges? They would be much more useful." The elder wanted to force the alchemists to the forges immediately but was stopped by Walkers' words.
"This skill is for cooling cauldrons usually. Remey is just applying it here but I recommend you let the alchemists continue to be alchemists. They might not all have the same skills as Remey and they will most likely become part of the alchemy guild when it forms. I would recommend when that happens you put in a request to work with the guild." Walker wanted to help Remey with the future bonds the guild would need to work efficiently.

"Alchemy guild? Why would anyone need that?" The elder was used to the fact that there were different medical systems that didn't put weight on potions here in the dwarf city.
"There is way more use to potions outside the city. It is a difference in culture, yes, but one that puts alchemy above medical practices when it comes to healing. I believe that the two could come together but in the end, that would mean the dwarves need to work with the other races more." Su heard the conversation and chimed in.
"Alright stop!" Grey yelled for Remey to stop cooling the mold and jumped to start opening it. He soon revealed a rough orb of reflective silver metal that looked to be burning in flames constantly even without being directly next to them. The small dots of flint stone in the metal made it appear rough if looking from an angle which was what Grey would need to smooth out.
"Watch this. I will show off a little." Grey was already pulling some tools to smooth the surface out. "I will pass this on to you master in just a moment." Grey was fast and precise to remove the larger pieces of additional metal as the elder sat down in front of his working space. He had multiple tools at the ready and the first spirit hovered around him.
"It looks like everyone is ready. Remey, just in case. Do you have some mana potions with you?" Walker knew that greeting Remey and asking what she would be doing would come later. At the moment they were busy and needed to focus on the task at hand.
"Of course I do. Who do you think I am. I am always ready." Remey pulled a few low tier mana potions from her bag and placed them on the work table. She didn't want to use the high tier ones just yet since she wanted to reserve them for Gil's quest.
"Alright, I smoother the core and it's ready for the spirit forging process." Grey handed the smoothed and even more reflective orb to the elder. The fire spirit was already pulling more elemental mana towards them for the elder.

The Edgars
A serial killer is wreaking havoc in a small European village, and Charles Edgar believes his estranged brother to be the culprit. But little does he know that a much darker truth lies behind the bloodshed; one that will bring betrayal and destruction to the entire Edgar lineage. (This is a one-act play. A (beat) indicates a pause in the dialogue.) Also, please feel free to rip this story apart in the reviews (if you're so inclined). I really want to improve as a writer, so any criticisms are more than welcomed.

The Legend of the Fake Hero
*I don't own the cover image**This has the Tragedy Tag; please no genre hate. Bad things can happen to good people, just like in real life (not that they will. I almost didn't put the tag there as it doesn't really fit the genre. I like happy endings.).The year is 201X, and the line between reality and the imaginary has become blurred. Approximately nine months ago, the event which became known as "The Convergence" occurred. People on Earth began to obtain powers. Some received them for seemingly no reason while others had obtained them after they had returned from the many different worlds that they had unwillingly been abducted to. These new worlds existed beyond time and space, and many could have different rules different from what we know as standard reality. That is because these many worlds seem to have traits taken from imagination. Things from stories and myths, like magic and plots, existed in these worlds as if they were inspired by them, and that was only a start. On earth, there was a young man. On appearance, he could be considered only slightly better-than-average. The only thing he was known for was his incredible mind that left him feeling bored and out of touch with reality. But soon he would leave this reality altogether. One moment he was lying in his bed. The next, he was face-to-face with a beautiful young lady who he had just woken up upon him falling into her bed. This young man has an incredible fate and will soon visit many worlds, gain many powers, and meet many women who, like the young girl whose bed he had fallen into, will blow him away.Upload Schedule (Updated 3/28/2021)Upload one chapter every-other-weekend PST (with rare exception, typically due to length).Breaking Fate/Origin Arc (Done) Albion Arc: Vol 1 - Origin, Vol 2 - Rise of the Red Dragon (Done) New Earth Arc: Vol 3 - New Earth (Done) Dealing with the Past Arc: Vol 4 - Ghosts of the Past, Vol 5 - The Dracul Descends, Vol 6 - War of FateBound Fate Arc Fake Hero Arc Vol 7 - Martel Side Stories #1 Shield Hero Arc Vol 8 - Second Chance Vol 9 - The Adventure Begins (Current) Vol 10 - First Quest Vol 11 - TBD (Writing [37%]) (Multiple Future Volumes TBD)Currently ONLY posting on Scribble Hub, Royal Road, and Wattpad (Same user name)If you find my work on other sites please let me know!

Reasons to Stay
Immortality has a cost, it differs from person to person. Some regret seeing their loved ones die, some regret they themselves cannot die, some regret the boredom and some regret nothing. This man regrets not having a choice, so after millions of years of getting shot, beheaded, beaten, stabbed and stoned he escaped from the world by hiding in a bunker with his books. He had studied all forms of science, he had lived history and created art, he was content with being alone with his mind until one day a man with a monocle appears, and he learns the truth. Hi! This is my second novel and I just had this idea when I was trying to sleep and my mind was making me re-live all those goddamn nightmares you don't want when it's 1 am and dark as shit, so I thought of happy things like the fantasy genre and my inevitable death and i'm like why not?

HEIMDALLR
After his first life, Heimdallr felt he had lived a decent way; he wrote stories and lived a simple life, avoiding publicity and focused on promoting growth to the few who cherished his works. But after being reborn as Heimdallr Dagrsson, one of the many sons of Daesal's greatest warrior Dagr, he was put into a world devoid of wide-spread access to reading and writing. Instead, he was dropped into a world where fighting and death commonly reared their heads. Now, faced between his unsupported passion and his new life's innate talent and upbringing, he will have to find his new path. He will forge a new story that would make even himself dubious of whether or not it's fact or fable. HEIMDALLR is a story taking place in the setting created for another previous work of mine called KOBOLD. It follows a reincarnated person trying to wrestle between their old life and new life's wants and needs, all the while adapting to the situations that arise out of his control. Heimdallr starts out trying to survive and live a new life, all the while facing challenges and growth both fantastical and painfully real. Loosely inspired by Norse mythology and histories (names and some themes), spun into a fantasy, grit-rooted world. Skål! All content warning tags are applied so as to allow freedom of writing but there is no intent of excess or even regular use of these themes. Regardless of this, any and all uses will have dedicated warnings presented in the chapter whenever they are present! Reader beware!
