Primordial Dimensions Chapter 81

A few hours had passed and it was evening when Shane's sour mood brightened up.
"Finally!" he exclaimed as he purchased a particular beast sealing card.
The price was already considered cheap for its rarity. It only cost him 750 gold coins for a 50 cubic meter beast sealing card with an [extraordinary] quality that had the [soul connection] ability.
However, this was only due to a certain reason.
The [Mortal-(extraordinary)] Beast sealing card that he had purchased was worth nothing for the race he bought the card from. At most, it was considered a training material for their younger generation.
The beast sealing card that he was holding in his hands was purchased from the high-elven race that had begun their journey in the Intermediate Primordial Dimensions.
Considering their extremely sensitive control over mana, they still had to practice inscribing complex runes in order to become runemasters.
Due to this, High-elves were known for making "low" quality beast sealing cards, gaining them a huge profit from a young age.
For Shane, these 750 gold coins were everything he had left, because he had to pay the transfer fee of 10% in addition to the surcharge of 15% for belonging to a different race i.e human.
In the end, he was almost completely ripped off of his wealth, due to the final payable amount totaling 937 gold coins and 50 silver coins.
He was barely left with 6 gold coins and a few dozen silver coins, which shocked him more than it should have.
Gritting his teeth, he pierced his dagger into his thumb as a drop of blood fell onto his newly obtained beast sealing card with the soul-connection ability.
As a few notifications popped up, he knew that everything had worked.
[Host's blood has been detected. Binding [Mortal-(Extraordinary)] beast sealing card to host's soul. ]
[!Remark: Beast sealing cards can be inserted and extracted from the soul whenever the host wants to.]
[!!Re-Remark: Once the beast sealing card is shattered or damaged, every living being within might sustain heavy injuries or even die!]
Reading through the messages, Shane was shocked to know that the beast sealing card could be destroyed and the last remark was equally frightening.

With this in mind, he had to try out multiple things in order to figure out the working mechanism of the beast sealing card.
Otherwise, he could inadvertently cause something unfavorable to happen. As such, Shane tinkered with the soulbond card for a few minutes to figure out its usage without storing Umbra in.
Absorbing the card into his body itched only a little while extracting it felt exactly the same.
Reassuring himself that it was easy, Shane looked at Umbra, who immediately knew what was going on. He slithered towards the small beast sealing card which lit up with complex runes.
The beast sealing card expanded in size until it was perfectly adjusted to Umbra's height and width. The snake gathered all of his courage to enter the black-colored card with golden shining runes on it.
Only a moment later, Umbra slithered inside the card and vanished. Shane immediately tried to feel their bond, and he sensed two connections at the same time, which was somewhat odd.
Even if it felt weird, Shane was glad to notice that everything seemed to work. He inserted the card into his soul, to carefully experiment if it was possible to store and release Umbra while the card was still within his soul.
Unfortunately, exactly as he had predicted, Shane figured out that it was not possible to summon or store Umbra within the beast sealing card without releasing the card from his body. Thus, he was forced to extract it every time he wanted to store or release something.
This increased the dangers by a large margin, as the process of extracting the beast sealing card and releasing Umbra and vice versa took roughly ten seconds in total.
`It's even inferior to a bronze tamer's beast storage skill..` Shane sighed deeply, but it was quite obvious. Otherwise, everyone with a taming skill would do the same as him, purchasing a beast sealing card, while picking a different occupation.
"Well, It should work for the moment" Shane mumbled, as he released Umbra in order to explain his current plan to him.
Considering it a plan could be a joke, as he plainly said
"Umbra, I'll provide you with enough mana crystals and mana stones, while you fill your evolution bar, alright? Going into a hibernation might as well work. If you're bored just try to see through my eyes.

Otherwise, I can release you for a few days...
However, both you and I know that increasing your evolution rate will increase our overall combat prowess by a hundred-fold if not more, right?"
In the end, he tried to compliment and motivate Umbra, but the small shadow-snake was more than aware of his use to Shane.
Rather than being useful, he was a hindrance to his master, which annoyed Umbra a lot.
Over the last few days, his use had been more than apparent. The only time he had been really able to help Shane was within the elemental crystal mine when he had served as his eyes on the back.
Considering that Shane's strength would only increase with time, Umbra didn't want to fall too far behind. He nodded his head vigorously, accepting everything Shane said, as he slithered back into the beast sealing card while transmitting a certain thought to him.
Receiving this particular thought, Shane smiled, as he mumbled "Glutton".
Umbra wanted to have a bunch of dishes within the beast sealing card, causing Shane to smile lightly.
'Preservable food will also work..right?' He thought while asking himself what to purchase for Umbra. There was also a possibility that the small snake would hibernate or sleep for days on end.
But before he would purchase anything, Shane pulled out a large chunk of mana crystals from his spatial ring and stored them within the beast sealing card.
A spatial ring and a beast sealing card were innately the same because both could store items within them. But, the most important difference between them was that a spatial ring could only store dead or inanimate things.
In addition to that, the time within a spatial ring would come to a standstill, while a beast sealing card could store animate and inanimate objects without having a slower time course.
Shane also knew that such rings, bags, and bracelets existed, but his need for them was minuscule. They would most likely have the same disadvantage as the beast sealing card had.
Once they would be destroyed, everything within would be destroyed as well…
In the end, it was too much of a risk to store his tamed beast in an external accessory that was at the risk of getting destroyed all the time by a mere slip of his finger.
His blood-bound ancient susurro ring was different, as it sat firmly on his finger. There was no need for him to release it like the beast sealing card.
Having finished doing everything he needed, he was about to walk out to purchase some preservable food for Umbra, when he noticed the Inn owner's worried expression.
"What is going on?" He asked and only now did he notice that it was already dark outside. The Inn owner saw Shane walking towards him and replied
"It's best if you don't go out for the next few days, kid. The military has begun setting up counter-offensive measures because of the bloodlust thunder wolf's existence. They went out with more than half of their troops, while only a small number remained within the shelter."
Shane frowned as he listened to the Inn owner, It seemed to him that the military was being impatient, without considering certain kinds of problems, as the inn owner added
"Weirdly enough, the stationed soldier said something about the radar being broken...." as he continued to mumble to himself "Was it overlapping fluctuations? Well, it doesn't matter.."
Hearing this, Shane recalled what Uncle Lars had explained to him about the radar when he was young. A frown appeared on his face as he thought
`Are these soldiers even learning anything in their military training?? It's not broken, but multiple races have gathered together!!`
"F**K!" he exclaimed, as he circulated a quarter of his mana within the lower body in order to accelerate his speed. He then pushed himself up from the ground, as he rushed towards the shelter hall.

The Werewolf Cheerleader
Being a cheerleader is easier than being a werewolf. Jessica Tumbleleague is a typical teenage girl who loves being a cheerleader at Moondale High. But after an encounter with a werewolf in the woods, Jessica discovers a frightening world she never thought is real. Dangerous magic, deadly fierce spirits, and other malevolent creatures. Now Jessica must fight the forces of darkness to protect her hometown while balancing her supernatural life with her high school life. But can she control the beast within herself? Note: This is a rewrite of the original with the same name. I decided to change the third-person style to first-person because I liked Jessica's voice better. She is funny and very strong. With the story only focusing on her, I can keep the mystery suspenseful and the reader can experience what Jessica is experiencing. It is a typical YA style, but it is fun to write as your main character. There are changes, but the first and second books will be similar to the third-person chapters. Let me know what you think and I hope you will enjoy this new version of the Werewolf Cheerleader. I will post the chapters every Friday in the afternoon. P.S, there is a Werewolf Cheerleader short story published in the Tales of Dungeons, All Hallows book. Titled The Werewolf Cheerleader: Castle and Ghouls. The short is also in first-person, which made me decide to change the book series into first-person. The link is below if you want to check it out. https://www.royalroad.com/amazon/B08MCS82R5
