Primordial Dimensions Chapter 117

Even if he didn't have to go to school in order to either apply for certain lectures or receive the ranking rewards, Shane still wanted to attend the first theoretical lesson in order to figure out if his teacher had something important to say.
Afterwards, he would receive his reward which was most likely, access to the Dimension-spheres and he could immediately request to enter it.
Shane was not sure about the number of hours that he would receive, but it had to be several hours.
Having crossed the threshold for the martial arts and knowledge exam for the first ranking, Shane knew that he would receive at least four hours from these two rankings, while the mortal combat ranking would most likely reward him with two additional hours.
Other than that, there was only the [Wealth] ranking for him, because the [Stage-to-age] ranking was nothing he would fret over, which included the [Lifestyle occupation] ranking.
Doubtful of receiving more than six hours from the [Wealth] ranking, he told himself to be satisfied with 10 hours access for the Dimension-spheres as his first reward.
Changing into a dry set of clothes, instead of wearing the wet, but cleansed uniform after drying his wet body, He rushed towards the education building and barely made it to the classroom in time.
As he opened the door of his classroom, he immediately felt several hundred pairs of eyes glaring at him, causing him to furrow his brows.
'Why is everybody glaring at me as if I murdered their entire family?' He asked himself, astonished by their gazes, before he sat down on an empty seat, and waited for their teacher to arrive.
Sharp at 8 am, Mr.Larka entered the room, causing the gossiping youths to quiet down almost immediately.
Mr Larka raised his eyebrows in amusement when he noticed Shane sitting in one of the first rows while being eyed by everyone with anger, jealousy and even greed gleaming in their eyes before he started the lesson with the standardized greeting.

Afterwards, he began to talk about all kinds of experiences over the last few weeks, while comparing their class with the previous batch of first-years.
Apparently, this first-year seemed to be slightly above-average compared to the prior students which caused a few youths to exclaim loudly, which was immediately intercepted by Mr. Larka, who didn't like to be disturbed.
Once he was done with providing the students with a general overview of the class, he asked everyone to look at their ranking, and check the additional rewards which were sent to their inbox.
"After everyone is done with looking through their inbox, I'll analyze a few students' results, while picking out their strengths and weaknesses, with the provided information from all rankings and the teachers' observations who monitored everything Other than the students I choose, if any other student is interested in having me look through their profile and help them understand their flaws; they are more than welcome to raise their hands."
Saying this, Mr. Larka muttered "good example" as he looked through the system before he cast a fleeting glance at Shane. This made Shane frown as he could sense what was in store for him.
Sighing, he opened his system's inbox, only to see multiple notifications about his ranking.
The first message was as expected because there were already tens of thousand students at the Expert stage with a martial art technique. With his gradeless martial art technique, at the Superior grade, he was at most comparable to someone with a [Tier-1 (Bronze)] martial art technique at the profound proficiency, which was already difficult for anyone below the age of 17 to reach.
Considering that he was still in the top 2000, there didn't seem to be many students with a [Tier-1] or even [Tier-2] martial art technique, while their proficiency was at most average, compared to his gradeless superior ranking.
Smiling lightly, Shane knew that he wouldn't be able to receive any rewards at the next martial art proficiency ranking because the first one was the only time the Shirai academy set up a threshold to reach in order to be rewarded.

After figuring out the martial art proficiency degree of his peers, he took a look at the knowledge exam reward, which caused him to smile a little.
He was not sure if Aunt Kia had a hand in the distribution of the rewards, but either way, it was a good method to motivate others in order to show them that hard-working students would be rewarded.
Furthermore, it was only the first knowledge ranking, with many, more difficult in line, which would consistently increase the rewards with the difficulty of the exams.
After reading the fourth message, Shane was satisfied with the reward, even if it was not much compared to the time he invested.
However, by fighting against his peers, he figured out their strength, even if they were only opponents at the Mortal stage.
As such, he gained a lot of experience.
The last notification about the [Wealth] ranking was also exactly as he expected, even if there were a few students who astonished him with their wealth, as they earned between 3,000 to 5,000 gold coins during the last month.
This caused him to wonder if they had a similar beneficial encounter like he had or if the reason for their accumulated fortune was something else.
However, in the end, he was ranked first, which was everything that mattered to him at the moment.
His eyes widened lightly, as he read the time he was allowed to enter the Dimension-sphere, but after thinking about it for some time, Shane could only nod his head in admiration.
'Was it Aunt Kia who decided this? She is really sly!' he thought, and it was mostly because everyone could see the rewards received by others.
With the [Wealth] ranking rewarding the most hours to access the Dimension-spheres, Shane could only regard this reward as a means to motivate all students to earn more gold coins by themselves.
This would cause students to either become more interested in merchants and their way to barter and trade with other races, venturing into the Primordial DImension to kill beasts in order to sell them, or search for expensive treasures.
Another way to earn funds would also be to learn an occupation that would allow these students to become blacksmiths, alchemists, or choose any other type of lifestyle occupation that earned fortune once they made a name for themselves.
In the end, the rewards he received were merely a bait for other students to strive for more and become motivated, even if it would make him the most hated person in school as he received the most benefits from the first rankings.
Not many cared about the prices that students at the second and third place from the [Wealth] ranking received, or even the number of hours of access to the Dimension-spheres the winners from the other combat rankings at the Apprentice and Expert stage received, as Shane's name was plastered everywhere.
He couldn't help but feel extremely uncomfortable with everyone gazing at him with jealousy and a tinge of hatred. It was not his fault that his ranking was better than theirs.
Mr.Larka chuckled before he shrugged his shoulders, clearly amused at Shane's predicament, causing him to frown a bit.
In the end, even he himself found it quite ridiculous, causing him to smile lightly, as Mr.Larka started analyzing all kinds of rankings.
