Primordial Dimensions Chapter 211

"Wait!! You won't grow more when I enhance your quality, right??"
Staring at Umbra who seemed to understand him perfectly fine, Shane couldn't help but frown when Umbra transmitted him the pictures of his growth when his quality increased.
"I totally forgot that your maturity process will be prolonged each time your quality will be upgraded...but...you are already so large!"
Umbra was not only 50 meters in length but his whole body had a width of around 1 meter.
To put it simply, Umbra looked like a huge, terrifying snake and Shane would be scared shitless if he didn't know that Umbra was completely loyal to him.
Shane and Umbra were talking to each other through their deep connection that became stronger over time before they became inseparable.
There wasn't a shred of doubt in their minds because it was obvious that they had grown inseparable.
It was an undeniable fact that Shane had tamed Umbra and it would be weird for him to release Umbra after he had worked hard to increase Umbra's loyalty, quality and evolve him into the strongest possible being.
With that thought, Shane couldn't suppress his curiosity anymore which caused him to take a quick look at Umbra's status panel.

He expected Umbra to become a powerful beast, but that he reached the 7th Awakened stage while having a [Trash] quality was still shocking to him.
This told Shane that Umbra was strong enough to liquefy his mana to enter the Myst stage.
Furthermore, if Umbra stored enough mana to increase his quality as high as possible before liquefying his mana, he might be on par with the bloodlust thunder wolf if not stronger!
That was if Shane was able to increase Umbra's quality quickly enough.

Nevertheless, this wasn't the most shocking to Shane!
What astonished him the most was that Umbra had reached a loyalty of 100% which was something unheard of, at least nobody he knew had been able to attain such a feat.
This, however, caused Shane to wonder what he could do with Umbra's loyalty, now that it had reached 100%.
Was there nothing he could receive in return for reaching such a great milestone?
With that thought, he looked at his notification log.
There were many unread notifications which he should have received while he was in the [Zone] during the last two weeks.
Shane was about to take a proper look at the system notification log when he was interrupted by Uncle Max and Aunt Kia.
He hoped that there was a notification telling him that Umbra's loyalty of 100% would give him anything in return.
Yet, before he could check everything out, Tiamir descended inside the crater with Max and Kia on his back.
However, what astonished Shane, Kia and Max were that Umbra swiftly turned around before he roared out threateningly, which caused Tiamir to stiffen as it halted its descent mid-air.
Max had asked his beast to descend slowly so as to prevent creating hostility with the gigantic snake that released strong mana fluctuations even though it was barely at the 7th Awakened stage.
Tiamir did as told but Umbra who sensed Kia, Max, and Tiamir's mana fluctuations couldn't help but feel shocked as he roared yet again, amplifying his voice with mana to sound more threatening to his supposed enemies.
Releasing his intention to attack and kill everyone who came closer, Umbra used his connection with Shane at the same time to indicate that he should flee.
Shane who noticed this couldn't help but smile oddly as he explained to Umbra that this was his family and not a foe.
When Umbra heard this transmitted thought, he retracted his killing intent without hesitation before he slumped back to Shane.

Sliding around to find a comfortable position, he placed his large head next to Shane who continued to caress Umbra who had taken over the responsibility of guarding his master like a faithful watchdog.
Shane noticed this and Umbra's fiercely protective nature reiterated the fact that choosing Umbra as his first tamed beast had been one of his best decisions.
As he smiled brightly at the thought, he saw that Tiamir was still reluctant to descend which astonished him.
Uncle Max and Aunt Kia were equally surprised by the beast's hesitation.
When coaxing Tiamir didn't work, Uncle Max forced Tiamir by utilizing the taming skill, he descended slowly.
Everyone was able to feel its reluctance and Shane began to wonder how terrifying Umbra's aura had to be to create such a distinct fear within Tiamir that he seemed to be frozen in fear for a short moment.
When Max and Kia saw that Umbra had visibly calmed down, they approached Shane.
While Kia was still walking calmly, Max rushed towards and grasped his hands.
Max's eyes gleamed brightly as he asked
"How did you find and tame a beast that could evolve into a Horned Darkness snake... within 5 months after you awoke the system at that???"
Though Shane had expected to hear such a question, he felt that his uncle was too worked up.
In his excitement, he pushed Shane backwards a little, only noticing that something was off when he heard the Horned Darkness snake hissing at him.
When he figured out that he was taking it a bit too far, Max scratched the back of his head in embarrassment before he retreated a few steps.
"Sorry, but...how did you do that? It's extremely diff--"
Yet, before Uncle Max could finish his sentence he was pushed away by Aunt Kia who asked with a similar curiosity gleaming in her eyes as Uncle Max.
"How are you feeling? Is your soul-bound world okay? Does anything feel uncomfortable? How is your mana absorption rate? And how large is the demand of mana has your world, the Hidden Paradise right now?"
Uncle Max who was astonished about Kia pushing him away got the hang of himself quickly as he charged back to Shane before doing the same to Kia as she did to him.
As they continued to bicker and push each other away, momentarily forgetting that Shane was around. He was unable to get his aunt and uncle's attention which caused him to lift his eyebrow
'Wait...they're not married, right?'
Shane was wondering if they quarreled like an old married couple or if they simply hated each other.
However, after thinking about it, he concluded that both of them had been single for a long...very long time.
According to them and his other aunts and uncles, Uncle Max and Aunt Kia prioritized their research over everything else.
With that information, Shane smiled brightly as he figured out a way to attract their attention again.
Taking a deep breath he asked in a loud, teasing voice
"Why don't you get married? You two already act like an old, married couple!"
"HUH?" Uncle Max reacted loudly, while Aunt Kia stared daggers at him as she approached him.
This caused Shane to gulp down his saliva as he retreated several steps, only to fall over Umbra's large tail.
Seeing this, both Max and Kia couldn't laugh and Shane could only say
"Do I have your attention now? If you two continue to quarrel it might take several days before I'm able to answer you two!"

When they get dragged into a grand scheme to unpick the ancient secrets entombed within one its foremost forbidden zones in their world, the Yin Eclipse Mountains, they must all try to survive the dark machinations, eldritch undercurrents and the echoes of a terrible conflict trying to re-emerge into an unsuspecting cosmos that had rather hoped it was done with that kind of thing a few eras hence. So please come join Arai, Sana, Juni, Ling, Shu and the rest of my cast as they journey through strange lands, meet all kinds of unusual beings and unravel some of the power and glory of a land time tried very hard to forget. I promise terrifying mushrooms, angry snakes, confused gods, even more confused cultivators and much, much more! Update schedule: (02/6/2022) As chapters are done, sorry. Progress: Currently up to old chapter 13-15. Chapter 24(or 25)/13, Parts 1 & 2 will be the end of the rework. Part 2 has been temporarily delayed due to me getting a frozen shoulder in the middle of June, which has been very slow to properly clear up. It is getting better, though, but Shoulder/neck is the worst set of muscles to have issues with ;( You can currently pick up most story threads after the rewritten chapters, starting from chapter 13-14 (old) Genre-wise, this is a bit hard to pin down. It's technically a Xianxia (because cultivators!), but it also veers towards Xuanhuan and has more traditional High Fantasy elements and a bit of Gods and Monsters and All Myths Are (on some levels) Valid. It also has a fairly large, ensemble cast, so if multiple point's of view are not your thing I am sorry. It won't ever really be considered 'grimdark' by any real measure of that definition but it does go to some complicated and fairly places dark occasionally, which I will note in author pre-chapter notes when expedient!. About the Author I mainly write fiction for my own hobby, it makes a nice change from academic scribbling! I started writing this quite a number of years ago. It has grown somewhat organically out of a bunch of different interests in all kinds of Mythology, World Building, Drawing Maps, Archaeology, Anthropology, History and Epic Fantasy fiction into what it is today. So I hope you enjoy the story and thanks for reading! Other stuff The cover is made by the author, using photos taken by the author. There is a Discord Server- Please come and chat, but beware of spoilers.

Murphy's Law
****Story has been dropped for being too dark**** "Anything that can go wrong, will." But what if you know what goes wrong in advance? On Earth, monsters come in human form. Some are ostracized or locked up, but others walk amongst us. They’re more common than one would think and they grow in number the higher in the hierarchy you go. With 1 in 100 people preying on the other 99, eventually, a world trying to summon a hero might end up with a monster that doesn't feel like playing along. _____________________________ The story is my take on some of my favorite genre's and tropes, some of which I have no I idea if they'll work well together. English is not my main language so if you notice any typos or grammar mistakes please tell me so I can correct them. Criticism and critique are more than welcome:) A chapter every Tuesday.*I do not own the cover image, it's taken from google.
