The Dream Saga Chapter 48

"Ugh, may I know if I did something wrong. My lord" the doctor looked up to Lee with eyes full of fear and his one hand wiping non-existent sweat on his forehead.
"Yes. You did something, you were leaving without something!" Lee's tone was so rude and rough that I felt he was acting like a completely different person now. What a duality, just chef's kiss.
"I am so sorry for whatever I did. Please don't kill me," the doctor cried out.
"HAHAHA HAHA" Lee suddenly burst out into laughter. I and the doctor had no idea what happened to him. Maybe he had gone insane.
"Lee!! Are you okay??" I yelled at him in order to check if he was in his sane mind or not.
"Don't you want to know what you forgot?" he controlled his laughter and asked the doctor in a funky tone.
"Ye-yes my lord." shuttered that wise fella.
"Your reward!"
"What were you expecting? I'm thankful to you. I'm sorry for my behavior. I use to get extremely violent when I'm scared."
"Well, I want to reward you. Ask whatever you desire. I Lee Ouroboros of house Ouroboros will reward you with anything under my power."
"For real? It's no joke right??"
"Well, my lord, I know what I want to ask is quite too much to ask for, but may you grant me and my family the permission to live in the capital of your state?"
My lord, I live in a small village that's not even on the map. My kid wants to become a royal educator, but it's not possible in my village. I just want to provide good education to him, but if it seems too much, I have another wish as well …."

"Oh, is that so?"
Alright, you have the permission. Now bring your family to the capital.
Hmm... Wait, but I guess you will have a problem settling inside the city too. I am gifting you a mansion in the capital and assign you as the royal doctor of the district. And I'll even subsidize you for your kid's studies. How about that?" Even though he acted rude earlier but he knew how to act on his deeds. He had a heart of gold.
"Thank you. My lord, it's too much for a commoner like me. I'll never forget this in my entire life." The doctor got emotional. He was so happy that he couldn't express it.
"You can go now,"
The doctor left the room and the only people who were left in the room were I and Lee. He pulled a stool off and sat near my bed. And asked me.
"Are you okay? The healer will be here in a few hours..."
"Hey, Lee." I interrupted him with my question.
"Where are Rahu and Victor? Are they alive?" I was sweating when I asked about them. I was scared inside. What if I'll receive negative news...what if due to me something happened to them...
My wildly assuming mind was playing with my nerves when an assuring voice interrupted this train of guesses.
"Yes, both of them are okay. Don't worry about them" as he said those words, I took a whiff of relief. Our efforts didn't go in vain. The risk that I took paid off.
"Victor is awake he's with Rahu. His legs were treated on time, so that's a big relief for all of us. But Rahu, he is critical for now. He's okay, but he's being transferred to his hometown for further treatment."

"But our city 'Levilee' it's the capital of the country, so doesn't it mean that best treatment is being provided here, by the way, what happened to him?"
"Kai, well, you know the 'champion of hell' tournament is around the corner, so everyone is going to be so busy, so it's better to treat him where his family is. In order to train you the best, he forgot his own limits."
"What do you mean, he forgot his own limits?"
"He used a forbidden spell that is bound to use when the world is ending or when there's grieve threat. But there wasn't anything like that, so he tried to use half power of that spell, but during his incomplete energy formation, you struck him with your attack that caused the spell to activate incompletely. So, his demonic energy aura was blasted and affected on everyone else as a curse."
"Oh, is that why he needs more care?"
"Whatever you did for us was heroic. I don't think if I can ever fully thank you for this..."
"Lee, stop it."
"It's not me who was the hero. I might have done something cool, but compared to what you did for us, it was nothing."
"You saved Victor from my attack. If it weren't for you, I don't think when we'd have pulled Rahu out of the debris. You ran continuously with me on your back, you never gave up on us, you supported Victor in standing up again, you saved everyone. You're the true hero, not me."
"Well, you know I feel so good when I have you by my side. I feel as I am safe and nobody can hurt me."
I took a deep breath after speaking too much. Lee listened to everything I said. He hugged me again and spoke in a soft tone.
"I felt I will lose all of you today. Please never leave me alone. I had many thoughts at this time. Who will I talk to about music if anything happened to you? Who will play chess with me instead of Victor? Who will go on drinks with me if something will happen to Rahu? I was so scared to bone, I'm so glad to see all of you alive." while a little precious droplet escaped from the corner of his eyes and his attempt to look normal.
His tears wetted my shoulder. I looked into his eyes and consulted him.
"Lee, listen I'm here. I will never leave you again because that's what best friends do!"
"Best friend? Did you just call me your best friend?" his eyes were shining bright because of the tears in his eyes.
"Yes, you're my best friend Lee."
"Thank you, Kai my first best friend!" He looked at me with a smile on his face as I bestowed him with the highest reward in the world.
"Thank you, Kai, again."
