Loving A STRANGER Chapter 121

Before Khloe could even finish, Ken started nodding excitedly, "Good, good. Then I'll wait for your call!"
Khloe impatiently raised a smile on her face and waved good-bye to him. When Ken was finally gone, she spat heavily, "Shit! What a loser!" Khloe then poured out two glasses of wine and took out a small package from her pocket. In one of the glass, she poured a white powder and mixed it carefully, setting it aside. Khloe then called Aiden, "Babe, I'm at Royal Private Club, and I don't feel so well. Can you come to pick me up?"
***
Everyone thought Ken was stupid, and he loved to play that character as well. He'd rather have people underestimate him than know the real him. He did not like working with Khloe, but she paid pretty well for wanting him to do small tasks. Ken walked over to the lobby and sat down, directly within sight of Khloe's room.
Ordering a glass of beer, he fixed his eyes upon the door. He knew Khloe would not be in there alone for long and would probably meet someone. Ken wanted to scope out who she would be meeting, and there was a chance that he could get more money out of her. The ten thousand she had given him would not even last him a month!
***
Aiden arrived after half an hour looking like he'd rather be anywhere else than here.
"Honey, Aiden." Khloe pulled his hand, walked him over to the sofa and sat down, leaning into his body. "Aiden? What happened? You don't seem, okay?"
Aiden shrugged his shoulders in response; he was less and less patient with Khloe, but she was still carrying his baby after all.
Khloe continued, "Is it because you don't have a job recently? You know that's just a phase; people will forget everything soon, and you'll go back to being the best male actor in the industry."

Aiden scoffed and looked away, the fact not escaping that it was because of Khloe in the first place that he had no job right now!
Khloe lowered her head and pouted, "Aiden…you can tell me if anything else has happened. Please don't keep it to yourself. You're making me worried, and that's not good for the baby. Don't you care about your child?" Khloe asked with fake concern in her voice.
"Nonsense! I care about the baby, which is why I'm here in the first place." Aiden scoffed and looked away. "If any other woman was carrying my baby, I would probably ask her to abort it!"
"What!? There is another woman?" Khloe cried out completely, ignoring the fact Aiden could ask her to abort the baby.
Aiden sighed and grabbed Khloe in a hug. He was so stupid; he should not have said that! However, Khloe's whining had been getting on his nerves lately.
Khloe sobbed into Aiden's shoulder, "I swear Aiden if you have another woman, I'm going to die. I'll kill myself!"
Aiden sighed, "Don't worry. There is no other woman. I'm already suffering…no, satisfied with you." Aiden smiled slightly at what he was just about to say while wiping off Khloe's tears.
Aiden had been having a tough time in the company and had absolutely no time to relax. On top of that, Khloe and his baby had been an added stress, which he certainly could have done without. Of course, he was a decent human being, so he was not going to abandon his unborn child no matter how annoying Khloe was.
Luckily, Khloe stopped crying and looked up at Aiden.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to cry…but you know the baby is just…" Khloe laughed and patted her flat stomach. "Here," Khloe handed Aiden a glass of water, the same glass that she had poured the powder into.

Aiden took the glass of water; however, a knocking came from the door when he was about to drink it. Khloe, thinking it was the waiter, yelled out, "Come in."
Ken White walked in with a red face, seeming quite drunk. He stumbled inside the room and looked at Aiden threateningly.
"Khloe, Is this my brother-in-law?"
Khloe stood up and rushed over to Ken, trying to push him out the door, "Ken, what the fuck are you doing? Get out!"
"Why?" Ken's eyes were red, and his pupils were enlarged. He escaped Khloe's hands and staggered towards where Aiden was sitting. "Nice to meet you, my brother-in-law. My name's Ken White."
Aiden looked at Ken with cold eyes. Without responding to Aiden, he growled to Khloe, "Khloe, who's this?"
"Aiden…um…he…" Khloe stuttered out. She did not want to humiliate herself before Aiden, but she could not get away with not knowing Ken since he had already blabbed out her name.
"He…he's Kylie's cousin," Khloe replied confidently, hoping Aiden would not detect the lie from her voice.
Khloe could tell from his face that Aiden hated Ken. Killing two birds with one stone, Khloe thought. Maybe Aiden would hate Kylie the same way. After all, birds of a feather flock together, right?
"Oh, really? You're Kylie's cousin?"
Khloe did a double-take when she heard Aiden ask Ken. He had seemed to lose his cold expression and detected a hint of warmth in his tone.
"Well, since you're here and you're our friend's cousin, why don't you join us for a drink, eh?"
Khloe was speechless, absolutely speechless. Was God playing with her?
"You're a nice guy, I like you," Ken slurred out and then turned to Khloe. "Hey, I like this guy." Ken then walked over to sit beside Aiden, where Khloe had been previously sitting. Aiden handed him a beer, and both clinked their glasses and drank.
Khloe just stood by the door and watched in awe; was this actually happening? Was the loser, Ken White, actually having a drink with her boyfriend?
"Khloe, what's your cousin's favorite food? Why don't you order some?" Aiden chimed. He gave the menu to Khloe and picked up a glass of water from the table.

The Voice of the World
Jason Elric used to be an ordinary college student living in the heart of San Francisco. He had a part time job, he played online games with friends he got along moderately well with, and he earned reasonably good grades. The worst he really had to worry about in life was turning in his coursework on time and not being late to class. Now, though? Now fighting for his life and running from a horde of giant frogs that want to make him their next meal is just another Tuesday. Thanks to a summoning ritual gone terribly right, Jason has found himself trapped in a world eerily similar to the role playing games games he used to play for fun. Unfortunately for the now ex-college student, everything happening around him is terrifyingly real and if he wants to survive, he’ll have to figure out how to exploit the system for his benefit before it’s too late. The Voice of the World is the first part of what is planned to be a multi-book, Isekai LitRPG story with crafting elements, set in the fantasy world known as Verdania. This is my first time posting online for public consumption, so bear with me as I work to find a style that people like. While I may occasionally write scenes that may deal with heavy concepts, expect this story to be primarily light hearted high fantasy. There will be a lot of common fantasy tropes involved, as this story got its start as a simple practice exercise, rather than any plan to actually post it. However, it’s grown on me, so I felt it’s worth sharing after all. Thus, if you’re looking for more serious/original/unusual stories, you might want to look elsewhere. For the rest of you, feel free to leave suggestions, as well as to point out grammar and spelling mistakes; I’ll do my best to make edits to correct them. I do my own editing currently, and it’s easy to miss things when you know what’s supposed to be there, so such call outs are highly encouraged. Content TLDR: No harems, probably no romance (unless it makes sense for the story later on) (it did, eventually), definitely no sex (keeping this PG-13 or close to it), limited profanity. Does/Will contain mixes of magic and technology (think Warhammer, Final Fantasy); copious amounts of blue tables; race, gender, and sexual equality concepts; crafting sequences; and (slightly, but not overbearingly) strong protagonists. If you don’t like these things, go elsewhere instead of downvoting people for content instead of writing quality. Update Time currently varies, due to personal injury, but the goal is 1/week on Wednesdays, with a possible smaller chapter on weekends if time/health permits.

Humanity's End
Given a year to prepare by the mysterious ‘system’ for contact with the wider galaxy, humanity must work to ensure the Earth’s defense is ready to meet any challenge. Sadly, most of the world seems dedicated to tearing itself apart as the year-end deadline gets closer. The west is in barely contained Chaos, while the east descends into internal conflict and war. The Pillar Forts, one of the few successful projects of the United Nations headed by the United States, stand ready to defend humanity against any invasion that may come through the strange Connection Pillars that appeared on each continent. Massive steel and stone walls that surround the Connection Pillars. They are filled with deadly men and women trained in all manner of warfare, each trained in the newly acquired System with skills and magical abilities that they put to deadly purpose. Beside these brave warriors, tanks, helicopters, artillery and more stand ready to defend humanity at each of these powerful installations. But, can they overcome the disparity in levels and experience between themselves and the forces that threaten them and the rest of humanity? Main Characters Jessica Brown- A young African American girl. Her 18th birthday in Detroit was the same day the systems message appeared. She discovered she was Level 7, much higher than most of the rest of the world. Why she is blessed, or cursed, with the power she doesn’t know. But what she does know is that she rather likes the feeling that comes with manipulating magic. The week after her birthday, government workers started testing every person in the US in a massive census effort of skills and abilities. Jessica Brown found herself conscripted into the US Magical Corp, a new branch of the US Military, and shipped off to a Pillar Fort. Somewhere hot and muggy in her ancestors’ home of Africa. As she grows stronger, she finds she has some connection to the pillars. While everyone else sees beauty or danger when they look at the pillars, after connection is made all Jessica can see is a Tree. A tree the size of the entire universe. Isaka Smith - is a third generation American and farmer who just wants to be left alone. But she is dragged into the situation by events beyond her control. When people in her small town had to deal with rioters and looters after the system announcement, she rallied them to defend themselves, earning her a trait that the government found extraordinarily useful. After a visit to a local reservation, she finds herself conscripted to lead one of the many small support towns erected around the great pillar forts. Not near her old home, but in far-flung Africa. John McIntire, the “Fighting Bull” -The commander of the African Fort, but because of circumstances beyond his ability to contend with shortly after taking command after being re-activated from retirement, he finds communication with his chain of command increasingly difficult. The US government, hell, even the United Nations, seems to have fallen into complete and utter chaos. The African Union is embroiled in a bitter civil war just outside his door, and supposedly, most of the world governments are in similar situations. Meanwhile, John must do his best to be ready to facilitate diplomacy, or to match the hostile argument of whatever force might come through the pillar of light when the year timer finishes counting down. Can our heros defend Earth from outside threats, while it tares itself apart? Or will they need to rebuild from the ground up? DEDICATION: This story is dedicated to my father who passed away recently. Jim Holloway, you’ll be missed you old silverback gorilla. Love you dad. Always have, always will.

The Supreme Cultivator
This story is a parody for xianxias, and some litRPG, where our protagonist, Bòhé chá, faces no problems at all in his life controlled by the evil author... Is the author actually evil? (This is not a rhetorical question, I'm actually curious.) PS : this is only written as a method of wasting time, so don't expect me to upload regularly. Edit : removed the LitRPG and replaced it with Satire since that is more accurate.
