Loving A STRANGER Chapter 338

Stephen didn't expect Kylie saw right through him.
"Kylie..." He clasped her hands. "You..." Since she already knew it now, who would she choose?
Kylie took his hands and looked at him with sincerity. "Star, when I needed friends most, it was you who kept my company. And you're in a difficult time now, so I must stay by your side till you find your love."
Stephen nodded heavily and looked gentle.
Kylie felt she had never been so relaxed after being so honest with Stephen, so she soon fell into a deep sleep after lying for a while longer.
When she woke up, she saw a circle of gauze wrapped around the busy housekeeper's wrist in the kitchen.
It must be the wound he had got in Stephen's room.
"Hi, may I help?" Kylie walked to the kitchen.
The housekeeper was a little surprised. Although the kitchen knife was handed over to Kylie, he still stood at the door of the kitchen.
"Cut it to small pieces, so they'll taste better," the housekeeper said with an expressionless face.
"Are these small enough?" Kylie asked while she was chopping.
"Yes, don't put too much pepper... Just a little of it is enough... the water isn't hot enough..."
Kylie stopped and turned to look at the housekeeper. "If you continue to do that, I'll think you're actually a nanny."
How can he, a grown-up man, be more careful than a woman!
The housekeeper's forever expressionless face was struck dumb for a second, then he turned to walk outside, but his sight still fell on Kylie.
"Don't worry. I won't drug the food, because I'm going to eat them too," Kylie said. She didn't bother to look back, because she knew the housekeeper was standing behind her.
"Are you sure you won't leave Lord Stephen?" the housekeeper asked quietly.
Kylie turned around with a kitchen knife in her hand, then made a stroke in the air. "If your young master finds his beloved woman, he'll chase me away. Ha-ha."

"He won't," the housekeeper quickly replied. "Lord Stephen won't like anyone else. You're his first and last beloved woman."
"You'll never know." Kylie turned back to her busy work in the kitchen, and said, "He's so obsessed with me, maybe exactly because it's his first love. Haven't you heard of it? First love never ends well." After saying that, she put the chopped vegetables into the pot.
However, the vegetables were too hydrated, and some hot water splashed out at once, which scared her off.
The spatula also fell to the ground, jingling for a while.
The housekeeper sighed, then pushed Kylie out of the kitchen.
"Do you want to blow up the kitchen?" The housekeeper picked up the spatula and cleaned it.
Stephen suddenly appeared from Kylie's back. He patted her shoulder and said with a smile on his face, "Just leave it to him. Let's go out and have a walk together. There is a big garden downstairs in the Empire Hotel."
The two walked on the cobblestone trail, and Kylie asked all of a sudden, "Is this hotel your family business?"
Stephen glanced at the skyscraper, then nodded. "Kinda."
"Why do you study medicine, while your family is involved in the business?" Kylie asked.
Such a family generally would choose a management course for their children when they went to study in colleges, but Stephen majored in medicine.
Stephen remained silent for a while before he opened his mouth again, "Because of my mother."
Kylie's steps stopped for a second.
Stephen looked up at the less glaring sun and smiled, "I am an adopted child of the Cecil family."
There was something flashing through Kylie's mind, but she couldn't catch it quickly.
After a moment, Stephen picked up a fallen leaf from the ground. His tone was full of sadness. "When the family adopted me, they promised to treat my mother. I didn't expect that I had just arrived at the family for a week, and my mother died."

"Do you think the family hasn't taken good care of your mother?"
"No, they took very good care of my mother." Stephen let the leaf go, and it flew away from his palm by the wind. He then put on an absent look. "They took my mother's kidney."
Hearing that, Kylie didn't know what to say.
She had heard that the rich would pay a lot of money for healthy organs, which were illegally removed from the poor's bodies. However, when it really happened right by her side, she felt utterly uncomfortable.
She wanted to comfort Stephen but didn't know-how.
Probably, Stephen had trained himself to be tough during the past years, so he snorted and went on.
"After a long time, I finally learned that my stepmother had a very serious uremia. In order to have her own child, she sent her biological younger sister to my stepfather's bed."
"However, the woman was very angry and escaped after knowing their conspiracy."
"Was she pregnant?" Kylie suddenly asked.
"I don't know. They've searched for her for a long time, but she was nowhere to be found." Stephen held Kylie's hand again, then they ambled among the trees. "My stepmother didn't have much time, so I became the sole heir."
"Well, you've carried a lot on your shoulders." Kylie nodded.
Stephen gave her a glance, then wore a resigned smile. "I do hope you can share the burden with me, but it seems it won't happen."
Before Kylie could say something, Stephen suddenly looked at her belly.
"You've been with Ethan for so long. Why are you still not pregnant now?"
Kylie touched her stomach, then smiled, "He said my career is on the rise, so..."
She shrugged and smirked. "Oh, it's just his excuse. Maybe he has a problem."
Stephen was amused. "Let me check his body sometime!"
"Forget it, what if I have a problem!" Kylie waved her hand.
All of a sudden, her smile froze on her face, and she turned around at a slow pace.
Seeing that, Stephen frowned a little, turning around too.
Not far behind was an artificial fountain, and there was nobody around.
"What's wrong?" Stephen asked.
"I just have a feeling..." Kylie compressed her lips. "Nothing. Forget it."
The kind of feeling that someone was staring at your back and the sharp look was full of hatred.
Kylie walked with him for a while longer, then suddenly asked, "Do you know how Aiden is doing now?"
"He's detained and is under the investigation of the Department of Justice." Stephen turned to look at her. "Do you want to visit him?"
"It must be very difficult for him to accept it that his father trapped him," Kylie said, "After Khloe's death, her stocks are all in Matthew's hands now, but it seems he has no intention to bail Aiden out."
"Is it real that the super-rich families value fortune above family?"
"That's because of Ethan." Stephen became serious. "Ethan has always been outstanding. When he was in school, he was the best student all the time. Matthew has done whatever he could to sell Ethan, but Ethan still came back safely. And he was also the best soldier in the special forces."
After stopping for a few seconds, Stephen smiled.
"When Ethan came back this time, he's very afraid Ethan will take revenge. Thus he's doing his best to collect as much money as possible," He looked at Kylie and said. "Didn't I tell you Ethan is very good at using the shortcomings of human nature?"

I do hope you enjoy the story I shall endeavor to tell. ~ Average post between 1000 - 3000 words. This is a work in progress, and will be edited and adjusted over time.
