Alexander pulled the chair. He waited for her to walk to him and take a seat.

Yan Xiaoran stared at Alexander and said her thanks to him before sitting on the chair. Alexander walked around and sat across her while a trolley with food on top of it was placed beside their table.

Instead of going to the private booth, Yan Xiaoran asked Alexander to change his reservation and chose to sit in one of the tables in the public area.

When Alexander heard her the first time, he only raised his eyebrows before taking his phone out to call someone to make her wishes happen.

He didn't even ask her why she suddenly wanted to sit in the public area when they could use the private booth that he reserved in the first place.

"Don't you want to know the reason why I chose to sit here?" She suddenly asked him after he sat on his seat.

He titled his head and smiled, "If your sweet lips will give me an answer then, I will gladly listen with both ears."

Yan Xiaoran smiled upon hearing his words and said two words, "Zhao Shuxin."

Alexander's eyes blinked before he asked, "She's here?"

Yan Xiaoran nodded and looked towards the door the stairs that lead to the private booth upstairs. She's been receiving messages from the woman who was serving Zhao Shuxin and knew that an abominable woman still hasn't left the booth.

Apparently, one of the messages that she received told her that Zhao Shuxin ordered several dishes and their prices exceeds a thousand dollars.

Yan Xiaoran nodded her head. She held a fork and a knife in both her hands, "She wanted to meet me."

Alexander paused cutting the piece of meat on his plate and looked up at her. "I didn't think she would be here." He resumed cutting the meat before asking, "Is she here because of you?"

Alexander had always wanted to bring the whole Zhao family down after what they did to the woman he loved. Unfortunately, he was afraid that Yan Xiaoran would get angry at him if he did that without her knowing.

He's seen a lot of men who liked naive and weak young females whom they could protect and needed protection. And honestly, Alexander wished he could do the same.

However, that would mean that he would block her from growing out of her shell and pain. He believed that she needs no saving as she will definitely become a beautiful disaster.

These past two years that they have been away from each other, Alexander thought out several plans to get the Zhao family inside his net. He even created a few problems here and there for them but alas, there's seems to be someone helping them out of their crisis.

"So you're now starting with your manhunt." Stated Alexander who raised his plate with the meat cut into a few slices and exchange it to hers, "Here, take mine."

"Thank you." Yan Xiaoran stabbed one piece of meat with her fork and put it into her mouth. The flavors of the meat exploded in her mouth.

Alexander watched her close her eyes in bliss and his eyes darkened. Averting his eyes, he gave a sign to a waiter who was tasked to serve them.

The waiter nodded his head and disappeared behind the counter before reappearing again while pushing a trolley.

When he reached their table, Yan Xiaoran raised her eyes to look at the waiter before she directed her eyes to Alexander who suddenly stood up from his chair.

He lifted the lid off the plate that she assumed that has food inside it. However, upon looking at it again, she almost broke into laughter as instead of food, there were two red rectangular cards inside.

It looks like a passport in size and if one would look at the writings on the cover, they will know what it really was just by a glance.

"Alexander… are those what I think it is?" Yan Xiaoran wiped the tears at the corners of her eyes.

Alexander smiled, "What's the point of asking when you already know what it is."

She couldn't help but look in surprise at Alexander as she asked him, "Since when did you prepare this?"

"This morning."

Yan Xiaoran shook her head in disbelief, "This is the first time I've never seen anyone serving marriage certificates on a trolley in all my life." She touched one of the certificates and opened it to look at what's written inside.

Inside the booth, Zhao Shuxin gritted her teeth. The sound of her teeth against each other was loud and distracting.

She looked at her wristwatch and saw that it was almost 8 in the evening and still, the person she was waiting to come didn't even appear.

Looking at the food that turned cold already, Zhao Shuxin was in a daze. She clearly picked the most expensive dishes in the restaurant so that she could taste them while waiting.

However, because there were too many dishes on the table and she was the only one who was eating, she didn't manage to finish them all and most of the dishes were left untouched and turned cold after waiting for three hours already.

Biting her lower lip, Zhao Shuxin stood up and took her bag in her hand and stepped towards the door.

As she was about to leave, the door suddenly opened and the woman who was serving her was pushing a trolley and asked her, "Miss Zhao, where are you going?"

Zhao Shuxin frowned and said, "The person I'm waiting for didn't come so I'm leaving."

The woman nodded as if she understood her and Zhao Shuxin stepped forward but was blocked as the woman stepped to the side to stop her.

"Miss Zhao, since you're leaving. Please do pay this bill at the counter." The woman said as she took out a long receipt and presented it to Zhao Shuxin.

Zhao Shuxin looked down at it and felt weak as she saw the five zeroes in the receipt.
