Keep calm and write something...

"No! You can't take me!" Zhao Shuxin screeched loudly as she tried to claw the police officer beside her.

Her hand was already cuffed and even though, she tried to resist and threaten them, they were didn't give in to her threats and still captured her.

"This is an illegal arrest! You can't just take me without talking to my lawyer or a warrant of arrest!" Zhao Shuxin elbowed the police officer beside her but missed.

"Miss Zhao, please refrain from attacking us. We can file a case against you if you continue to act this way." The police officer said and nodded towards Yu Jin Yan who sat next to Zhao Shuxin in the middle of the backseat, "Why don't you learn from your mother and act calmly."

Calmly? How can she possibly be calm at this moment?! She's going to be taken to the police station and this event in her life would surely put a smear in her reputation!

"And if it's a warrant of arrest you want. We already showed it to you earlier but you tore it anyway. Another offense we have to mention to the court." Another police officer who sat at the front passenger seat said.

When the cops arrived in front of Zhao Shuxin and Yu Jin Yan, they tried to explain their cause for the visit and calmly told them to go with them and cause any trouble. However, Zhao Shuxin ripped their warrant of arrest into pieces and spat at it.

She resisted quite a bit before three police officers finally subdued her and put a cuff around her wrists.

Unlike Zhao Shuxin, Yu Jin Yan was calmer and didn't try to do anything. She only watched as they put a cuff around her wrists and got inside the car without saying anything.

As someone older than Zhao Shuxin, she knew that whatever she does or say against the police officers who came to them could be used against her.

Besides, she was confident that she could get out of this misunderstanding and when everything was done and put to its original state, she would make sure that the police officers who captured them would pay tenfold for what they did to her.

Her husband would never let this happen to her. He loved her too much that anyone who tried to hurt her would end up badly in the end.

"Officer, can you tell us what really happened? We just arrived today and didn't know the details of what's happening." Yu Jin Yan asked.

"Why are you even asking?" Zhao Shuxin glared at her, "Surely, they made a mistake and will pay for this once the misunderstanding is cleared up!"

She pointed at the police officers inside the car, "You, you, and you! I'll remember your faces so I can make you all pay for this!"

Yu Jin Yan sighed. Threatening the officers won't do anything but only worsen things but she didn't stop Zhao Shuxin. On the contrary, she was glad that Zhao Shuxin was doing her best to scare the officers and expected for them to hesitate.

However, no hesitation was shown in their faces, making her feel like something is going on.

Still, after her question, one of the officers explained.

It took five whole minutes to finish the story. It began when someone gave them some heads on the activities that the Zhao family was involved in.

Of course, the police didn't have the evidence and it was hard to get one too. So in the end, they couldn't do anything.

A week passed and the investigation had nothing. The Zhao family was too highly guarded and nothing could pass through their security. That's why the investigators who were put into place to investigate the whole matter almost gave up after gaining nothing at all.

Until a few days ago, a box was delivered at the front desk of the police station addressed to one of the investigators handling the case.

At first, the investigator who received the box thought that it was a prank. The box weighed nothing at all and when they opened it, there was nothing at first glance.

On the second glance, they saw a small memory card stuck at the bottom of the box.

Inside the memory card, all their assets were written inside. Their annual income didn't match the taxes that they paid to the government. A big chunk of it was missing.

Their taxes were far too small for the assets that they possessed. And in another file, the names of the tax preparer that filed the Zhao family's taxes were given a huge amount of money. For what reason and how they got it, it wasn't clear.

However, the fact that it came from a single account that was connected to the Zhao family, anyone could deduce that they had something to do with it.

Not only that, other family members of the Zhao's were involved in extortion. They demanded money from other people and threatened to harm them if they don't pay. These family members were from the lower branches of the family who benefitted from the graces of the main family and used it to extort money from others.

"If that was the case then why am I taken as well?" Yu Jin Yan frowned. She was an outsider despite being married to Zhao Shuxin's father.

Once she spoke, Yu Jin Yan instantly received Zhao Shuxin's murderous glare but she ignored it.

Sighing deeply like he was tired from explaining things to some idiots, the police officer beside Yu Jin Yan scratched his head, "Madam Zhao, you also did something bad, didn't you? You bribed a few minister's wives and politicians to get you some benefits around the country. So, don't even think you're one of the victims here."

A snicker was heard and when Yu Jin Yan looked where it came from, she saw Zhao Shuxin giving her a mocking look and laughed, "Ha! You really think you can get away?"

"And what about you? You think you got nothing ln your name?" Yu Jin Yan countered.

Zhao Shuxin snorted and confidently said, "They have no evidence that they can use against me. Besides, I may be part of the Zhao family but I'm married to the Lou family."

Her husband will help her, Zhao Shuxin became confident and arrogant with that thought. The pieces of evidence that could be used to her were also erased by her the moment transactions were made so the court won't be able to do anything to her but question her only.

Unfortunately, as soon as these thoughts entered her mind, the faster it was crushed as the officer in front said, "Ah, well... The evidence against Miss Zhao was actually sent to us yesterday."
