"What!" Zhao Shuxin whipped her head towards the officer who spoke to look at him like he had grown two horns on top of his head.

She genuinely looked like she didn't expect this to happen. After all, the pieces of evidence that she left whenever she did bribery and insider trading were soon erased.

She made sure of it. She even paid hundreds of thousands of yuan just to get some people to erase her tracks. So, how did these pieces of evidence suddenly resurfaced when it should be non-existent already?

Did the men she paid before stabbed her in the back and saved some receipts of her transactions? But how can that be?

Whenever she made transactions and let these men erase her tracks, she would personally check them if they really did erase everything and didn't hide some of it behind her back.

There was one time a few years ago that went and hid one of her receipts, and that person paid a whole lot of price of doing so. It cost him his job and his family. She made sure that his entire family won't ever get the chance to get a job in this lifetime.

Zhao Shuxin was known for her ruthlessness but when things were done right, she was like a saint and would give lots of bonuses to her people.

That was why most didn't even try to go against her and wanted her as their master or friend.

"That's impossible! I have nothing in me! There must be someone who wanted to do me dirty and created some false evidence so they can trap me!" Zhao Shuxin went hysterical. She looked extremely pitiful and with her beautiful face, the officers couldn't help but blush and sent her some glances of sympathy.

Just like in the past, when Zhao Shuxin used her face to make people believe her and pity her, most wouldn't be able to resist thinking that she was innocent.

Even the step-sister that she drove to hell didn't even have the chance to get away from her and suffered greatly because of her traps.

Wiping a tear from her eye, Zhao Shuxin completed her pitiful look and said, "How can someone be this evil? To even falsify evidence just to entrap me. Huhuhu! Officers, you need to do your job and catch this evil person!"

At the side, Yu Jin Yan almost raised her thumbs at Zhao Shuxin's masterful acting. She could see that the officers on their sides were starting to go soft with them. They were absolutely captivated by the damsel in distress and wanted to save her from the disaster.

She almost wanted to do the same. The keyword to that was 'almost'.

Seated at the front passenger seat, the officer who broke Zhao Shuxin's delusion about the evidence spoke.

"Miss Zhao, we're mere police officers." He said and looked at her through the rearview mirror, "If you want to plead not guilty. Do it in front of the court and the prosecutors. Our chief investigator will question you tonight so you can convince him all you want."

Like a string being cut off, the officers who were bewitched by her pitiful act woke up. They shifted in their seats albeit still wanting to comfort Zhao Shuxin.

The officer in front wanted to roll his eyes. He was one of the people hired by Madam or Mad X. As a police officer, he already saw through a lot of lies and method acting that could be used to evade troublesome situations like this.

And Zhao Shuxin's acting didn't do anything to him as he already saw through it. He wouldn't be affected by it even if she tried to seduce him by getting naked in front of him now.

"Zhang Shi, you're too strict. These ladies are only trying to express themselves. You don't have to be such a jerk about it." Said the driver. He was also one of the police officers but he had to act as a driver to these foolish bums.

Zhang Shi frowned at this and sent a glare towards him. "Officer Gao, you might want to watch the road properly rather than keep staring at our guests of honor." He countered.

Officer Gao clenched his teeth when Zhang Shi mentioned that he was keeping his eyes at the ladies.

With that, the conversation died and the drive towards the police station went well with no hassle. There wasn't even traffic to hold them.

When they entered the police station with Zhao Shuxin and Yu Jin Yan, a few people in suits welcomed them. Zhang Shi instantly recognized their faces.

It was the Commissioner Second Class, Li Wang, and the Constable First Class, Huo Yan.

Immediately, the officers with Zhang Shi saluted them. He also showed his respect by saluting them but it was done half-heartedly as his loyalty was owned by someone else named Madam X.

Officer Gao smiled at the two who came to welcome them and politely asked, "Sirs, what cause this humble visit yours?"

Li Wang returned his smile and said, "Oh, we're here to receive Miss Zhao and Madam Zhao. We heard that they will be taken here and as someone who had some relationship with the previous patriarch of the Zhao family. It is only fair we give them some respect."

Zhang Shi frowned at that. This wasn't part of the plan. Zhao Shuxin and Yu Jin Yan were supposed to be put inside the interrogation room to be questioned but these people came here to show some respect? To criminals with solid evidence against them?

He suddenly became worried that things would go wrong. But upon remembering that Madam X has arrived in the country, his restless heart calmed down.

No matter what endless help the Zhao family will get, they will stay end up behind the bars. That was what Madam X promised him and he will also do anything in his power to help her turn that dream into reality.

Raising her head in smugness, Zhao Shuxin went to the side of Li Wang and Huo Yan. She was happy to see them here and felt that nothing could keep her from doing anything. That also means the crimes that were put in their names will cease to exist and they will return to their normal lives.
