My Villainous Wife Chapter 168

NO!
He can't find me out!
"Mademoiselle X!" Just as Yan Xiaoran was about to faint from the suspense, a man's voice was heard from behind her, "There you are... I've been looking for you!"
As if she saw a bright light coming from the end of the tunnel, Yan Xiaoran bit the first bullet and quickly turned around and saw Adam standing by the entry door with his female companion.
"Adam!" Yan Xiaoran quickly raised her feet and walked over to the man/her savior.
However, just as she was about to take a step forward, she saw a huge shadow blocking her way. It turned out that the shadow was actually Alexander when she saw his face.
Damn it, why can't he let me go?
Just as she was about to open her mouth and tell some lies once again, he beat her to it and said, "You're Madam X? The woman behind the Black Organization?"
"I've been looking for you as well."
His unwavering, indifferent words made her grind her teeth in annoyance. What shit luck; she couldn't believe that Adam did not just save her, he also put the last nail to her coffin.
The roughly 6'2 feet (190cm) man rapidly approaching her made her feel like the entire weight of a thousand ton was bearing down on her.
His overpowering presence invading her personal space and making sure she couldn't escape from the web he inlaid before her.
She raised her chin confidently. Clearing her throat, she banished the fear and uncertainty she was feeling and slowly said, "You are looking for me? Why is that?"
When Yan Xiaoran heard that Alexander was looking for her, not as Yan Xiaoran and not as his wife, but as some other woman with the pseudonym Madam X, she felt a slight twang in her heart. The jealousy she felt after hearing him looking for some other woman gave a strange and sickening feeling in the bottom of her stomach.

"The Red Flame from the East is mine and so is the cargo carrying the goods you stole from me." His cold and collected voice said.
Hearing the name of the force that almost robbed her millions of dollars coming out from Alexander's lips and hearing him say that it was his, greatly shocked Yan Xiaoran.
His confession made her feel like a thunder struck her straight to the bone and now, she couldn't recover from the shock.
"The… the Red Flame is yours?" She asked in disbelief. She had not known of this at all. How could Alexander be the man behind that sanguinary force?
And does this mean, they have been going against each other.
Since last year, the Red Flame has been quite a headache to her. They were a force that was feared by a lot of people, even the most notorious crime organization would think twice before they try to go after them. And because they were somehow affiliated to the government and the royal family in M Country, Yan Xiaoran hadn't thought that Alexander could be the man bossing these ruthless Red Flame armies.
After all, Alexander was connected to the Underworld, he might even probably be controlling the entire Underworld because he was the man who would produce and release the firearms and weapons that everyone in the Underworld used.
But contrary to the Underlord Alexander, she imagined that the man behind the Red Flame was an old general or commander of the military.
Yan Xiaoran grimaced inwardly.
She shouldn't have cared so much before, but she should have cared.
And now she was screwed.
Both she and Alexander were actually against each other!
It was comical, really.
She was up against her husband, stealing his goods while getting revenge because he made her waste a million dollar, while on the other hand, Alexander lost tens of billions worth of goods because she robbed it from him. And this all happened because the two of them didn't know that they were each other's enemies.

Was this what they meant by keeping your enemies close?
She opened her mouth, about to defend herself, but then, Alexander stepped closer to her. Her eyes narrowed cautiously and she backed away, desperately searching her mind for ideas or excuses could throw at him.
If the man before her was not Alexander, Yan Xiaoran would definitely not try to look this intimidated and scared like a prey before a lion. But this was her husband.
She committed two sins to him in a span of a few minutes of finding it out.
"How are you going to compensate me for my losses, miss?" Alexander's words held no compassion or pity that a gentleman would reserve towards a lady. His thoughts were only full of how he could make the woman before him pay.
Yan Xiaoran continued moving backwards unconsciously, "I… You can't do this to me, Mr. Stranger. You should understand that once you lost, you lost and that's it. There's no other way around. We had a bout as two competitors and there's bound to be a winner and loser in the game." She desperately explained to him.
"But that was no game, miss. That was cheating." Alexander pushed further, ignoring the stares and crowd that had gathered around the two of them. "You let your people enter a restricted land I own and took what is mine. You call that a fair game?"
Of course, she knew that it wasn't a fair game.
There were unwritten rules even amongst monsters and beasts in the Underworld which no one could disregard, and different organizations also had one.
However, if Yan Xiaoran followed through that rule, she wouldn't be able to win the game against Alexander.
Even with the growth that the Black Organization has shown these past two years, it was still not enough to kick the top organization, Red Flame out of their throne.
That was why she had to do something about it, even if it meant cheating.
Yan Xiaoran stared fixedly at the man before, thinking carefully.
Should she sneak out of the party and run away? Or should she tell him the truth? She wheeled around both options in her mind for several seconds before she came to a decision.
She should run quickly and fast.
