Chapter 269: The Nemesis
Translator: Transn Editor: Transn
Shortly afterward, a bloody figure smashed onto the floor. He was spewing blood and had disheveled hair and ragged clothes. Apart from this, there were dozens of wounds that constantly bled.
“It’s Xin Wuming!”
The crowd was stunned. The first entrant to the seventh floor was not Feng Xiu but Xin Wuming.
As strong as he was, Xin Wuming could only reach the seventh floor. Could the other talents make it?
The crowd was eager to find out.
At this moment, Xin Wuming’s face looked very pale. However, when he looked around and found that the other talents had not come out, he became more upset.
He was the first into the tower. After continuously overcoming many obstacles, he had finally reached the seventh floor.
However, this floor was too difficult to pass through. With his incredible strength, he should not have been defeated so soon even if there were 64 white-shadowed figures at the Late Stage of Lv 5 True Spirit Realm.
What astonished him was that the 64 white-shadowed figures had jointly attacked, and he could not handle their ferociousness.
Soon after, Xin Wuming got up with a dark face and sat cross-legged while surveying the upper part of the tower.
Right at this moment, the seventh floor lit up once more.
Meanwhile, Feng Xiu looked pale while facing the 64 white-shadowed figures on the seventh floor.
He felt great pressure at his moment as there were 64 enemies that were two levels above him. He ranked top 78 in List of Top 100 Talents and could be considered the best young expert amongst the seven countries South of Yan River, but this status would not get him anywhere.
Rumble!!
The white-shadowed figures suddenly attacked. Then, their fist radiance rushed out and combined midway, forming a mountain-like fist.
Although the raging fist had not approached, the air around him exploded and constantly pushed against him, which firmly tied him to the ground.

“How could it be so powerful!”
Feng Xiu was dead serious.
“Eight-armed Divine Fist!”
At present, his aura rose swiftly and six extra arms suddenly appeared on his shoulder.
Those arms were made of Genuine Vitality but they looked identical to his real arms.
With a glaring fist radiance, the eight arms rushed out to confront the huge fist.
Buzz! Buzz!
The fist radiance formed an interconnected circle, bringing about an overwhelming power that could shake the earth.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
They then collided with the huge fist and caused a destructive, terrifying explosion, and the shockwaves swept across the area like ocean waves.
Swoosh!
Feng Xiu was pushed back dozens of meters.
“Haha! Cool!”
Although Feng Xiu was at a disadvantage, he was not angry and began to laugh instead. His fighting desire was greatly aroused in this kind of situation.
Then, the fight continued as the two forces collided and deafening blasts went on.
The battle lasted for a full hour before finally ending.
Feng Xiu was on his knee. He was looking slightly pale as he spewed out a thin thread of blood. Meanwhile, all the white-shadowed figures were gone.
In the meantime, Su Mo was now on the sixth floor.
There were 32 white-shadowed figures surrounding him. They were all at the Middle Stage of Lv 4 True Spirit Realm, one stage higher than those before.
Swish! Swish! Swish!
With shining sword radiance, their overwhelming attack rushed toward Su Mo.
Su Mo was being encircled by golden aura amidst which a huge shadow of an elephant appeared. It symbolized the peak of his body strength.
Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh!
Su Mo brandished his sword and formed a shining sword curtain that shrouded him and crushed all the approaching attacks.
“Attack!”
He rushed toward the white-shadowed figures, and a figure would be killed every time he swung his sword.
For now, with overwhelming sword will and body force strengthened by Genuine Vitality, he was unstoppable. The white-shadowed figures were no match for him at all.

Although Su Mo’s combat strength was powerful enough, his Genuine Vitality was weak. Otherwise, he could wipe out all the figures with just a few long-distance attacks.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
He destroyed the white-shadowed figures one by one until they all dissipated after several dozen breaths.
Swoosh!
A little while later, another white-jade box flew toward him.
“Martial scroll again?”
His eyes glowed with excitement, but it was a palm-sized white Jade Charm instead.
Taking a look at the delicate and shiny Jade Charm, Su Mo was left in a daze.
“What kind of Jade Charm is this?”
He was confused because the Jade Charm was similar to the Messaging Charm given by Elder Wei, but it was not identical.
Since he could not figure it out, he just kept it without further inspection.
After a little while, he appeared on the seventh floor as the surroundings swiftly shifted.
The white-shadowed figures started forming right away and 64 of them appeared in the blink of an eye.
Seeing this, Su Mo slightly paled as the 64 white-shadowed figures were stronger again and had entered the late stage of Lv 4 True Spirit Realm. Hence, he dared not look down upon them this time.
Swish! Swish! Swish!
In the next moment, the 64 figures rushed into the sky and swung their sword together. They weaved a huge web over Su Mo.
The 64 sword Qi combined and integrated to strengthen its power over tenfold.
“Sword Formation!”
Su Mo paled. If the 64 white-shadowed figures attacked him individually, he would not be afraid at all. However, their power had increased tremendously with the sword formation and it was looking grave for him despite his strength.
“Break!” Su Mo shouted and did not back down.
With his sword giving off glorious radiance, Su Mo swung his sword nine times in a row, hitting the sword formation in the same spot.
Slice!
The sword formation was ripped, but it was restored almost immediately and continued to rush toward Su Mo. In a blink of an eye, it was near Su Mo’s head.
“So powerful!”
He was stunned and quickly winced before unleashing his Devouring Martial Spirit without holding back.
Buzz! Buzz! Buzz!
The devouring power swept across the whole space. The Sword Formation and the white-shadowed figures then somehow started to quiver violently and began to fall apart.
Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!
Su Mo attacked again, instantly slashing the Sword Formation into pieces.
“What? When did the devouring power become so strong?”
He was astonished because he never expected that the devouring power of Devouring Martial Spirit would affect the white-shadowed figures this much.
There were two factors that decided the power of his Devouring Martial Spirit. Firstly, the higher its rank was, the more powerful the devouring power would become.
Secondly, Su Mo’s higher cultivation would bring about the strengthening of his driving force, thereby increasing the devouring power significantly.
Su Mo had not recently improved his Martial Soul’s rank and it was still at Rank 1 Earth Class. But his cultivation had been improved greatly, thus enhancing the driving force.
Although his devouring power increased and could affect a martial artist at Lv 4 True Spirit Realm, how could it possibly be so powerful?
The thing was, all the white-shadowed figures had lost their ability to fight and were almost falling apart.
“I get it!”
All of a sudden, he figured it out.
The white-shadowed figures were made of the purest form of Spiritual Qi and so were their attacks. Meanwhile, the Devouring Martial Spirit could devour Spiritual Qi, so it was a nemesis to the white-shadowed figures.

To Blunt The Sharpest Claw
The Velvet Paw of Asquith Novels are a series of New Fable genre novels that involve cats and dogs and high adventure and romance and espionage and food-fights and hotels and explosions and car chases. With large casts, exotic locations and an absurdity only possible in the absence of human characters, the Velvet Paw of Asquith Novels blend Wind in the Willows with James Bond, though with more cafes and fewer badgers. This submission is the third title in its Morigan Trilogy, beginning two-thirds of the way through the series' longest adventure yet. Here's a quick recount of what's happened so far: When Oscar Teabag-Dooven, a Velvet Paw of Asquith, is ordered to investigate how a mysterious poet, the Ar'dath-Irr, is able to travel instantaneously around the world, two very bad things happen. Firstly, he meets Lydia, an insane librarian who punches everyone in the face, and secondly, the Ar'dath-Irr reveals he is intent on taking over the world. Although this second thing might be considered worse than the first, Oscar feels differently following Lydia’s destruction of a cafe, a library and his face in one afternoon. In comparison, thwarting world domination just seems easier. Along with Binklemitre, a fellow Velvet Paw of Asquith, and Lydia, Oscar infiltrates the Ar’dath-Irr’s realm of dark poetry to discover the dog not only intends wrenching the world apart but has no intention of cleaning up afterwards. As a result, Oscar decides it’s all too hard and goes home to have a bath. After lots of arguing and the sort of food fight that posh restaurants were invented for, Lydia and Binklemitre convince him that they must stop the Ar’dath-Irr for several reasons, one of them quite serious. A vibrant cast of characters collide as Oscar, Lydia and Binklemitre battle the Ar’dath-Irr and his disciples in an adventure involving exploding cafés and appalling hotels, car chases and inadvertent surgery, dreadful poetry, lots of arguments and at least one temper-tantrum, all of which draw the three into dark and convoluted corners of a world they weren’t aware existed. Moreover, any chance of sitting down and discussing things over some buns disappears when Lydia punches the Ar’dath-Irr in the face. This results in her having a psychotic episode and Oscar getting run over by an ambulance. Although Binklemitre suffers neither, he witnesses both, which is almost as dreadful, though not nearly so messy. An enormous battle ensues, followed by a dinner party and then everything explodes.
