Chapter 319: Bad Luck?
Translator: Transn Editor: Transn
Su Mo won the first battle easily. His Dragon Luck increased by nearly a foot after devouring part of that gaunt young man’s Dragon Luck.
The fights went on as Su Mo flew down the fighting ring.
Leng Yunfeng and Honglian, geniuses in the List of Top 100 Talents, both defeated their opponents in three strikes.
“Honglian, are there any strong experts in the western fighting ring?”
In the audience, Su Mo and Honglian stood around and talked about the contestants.
After the battle in Dreamcloud Manor of Topsun Country, they became familiar with each other.
“In our western fighting ring, there’s no doubt that Han Qianze and Duanmu Ying, ranked 6th and 10th respectively, are the strongest. Besides, Yu Yuankai, Tang Yingjie, Dai Qian, Shi Zhengyang, and Luo Ning, who are ranked 16th, 19th, 25th, 32nd, and 41st, are all strong foes that you must not underestimate.” As she spoke, Honglian pointed out these experts to Su Mo and he agreed in silence after glancing at them.
He could feel that these people were strong and they were all at the Lv 4 True Spirit Realm and what’s more, two of them had even reached the Peak Lv 4.
A large proportion of talents who joined this competition were at the Lv 3 True Spirit Realm and only a few had reached the Lv 4.
“On the surface, they are the strongest contenders, but time will reveal if there are any dark horses!”
“Of course, you are a dark horse too,” Honglian added.
Hearing her, Su Mo said with a wry smile, “How am I a dark horse if everybody knows!”
Su Mo did not deny that he was strong.
In his mind, no one could threaten him except those geniuses at the top of the list.

Honglian shook her head and said, “All they know is that you’re incredibly talented, but they don’t realize that you actually have the strength to reach the top 40!”
Su Mo also paid attention to the four other fighting rings while they were talking.
The combat strength in each fighting ring was well-balanced thanks to the Top 100 Talents token allocation. The number of experts in each ring was similar and the top geniuses were all distributed evenly.
Su Mo discovered that Duan Jingtian was in the central fighting ring.
Su Mo secretly sighed and hoped that Duan Jingtian could reach the top 20 in his ring so that they could have a chance to fight.
A few moments later, Su Mo’s token trembled again which meant that his second fight was beginning.
Although his new opponent was not in the list of Top 100 Talents, he was an expert at the Lv 4 True Spirit Realm.
It was a tall, square-faced young man who gave off a strong aura.
“Su Mo, your cultivation is one level below mine. How can you win?” The square-faced young man laughed.
Although Su Mo’s attacks were extremely fast, he believed that he would win!
“It’s just one level!” Su Mo chuckled and rushed toward that youth like an arrow.
“You’ve lost!” The square-faced man cried and sent a wall-sized palm print toward Su Mo.
Puff!
A cold light flashed and it divided the palm print in two, while Su Mo continued to rush toward him.
“What? How can he be so powerful!”
The young man was surprised that Su Mo had easily broken his attack that even a martial artist at the Peak Lv 5 True Spirit Realm could not directly withstand.
“Skysea Wind-breaking Palm!” The square-faced young man yelled and struck with his palms, sending out a wave of endless palm prints.

“Break!” With a calm face, the sword ray of Su Mo’s Spirit-slayer Sword grew quickly and reached hundreds of meters in length.
Puff! Puff! Puff!
The incomparably sharp sword ray swept away all obstacles and tore all the palm prints to pieces.
Su Mo did not slow down and neared him in the blink of an eye.
“No!”
The young man was horrified and jumped back immediately, however, the blinding sword radiance was too fast and almost exceeded his reaction speed.
Splash!
As his Body-protection Genuine Vitality broke, the square-faced young man flew off the fighting ring.
“Senior Brother Luo, Su Mo’s actually strong enough that he could defeat someone who’s a level higher so easily!” In the audience, a youth spoke to the young man in purple beside him.
That young man in purple was Luo Ning who ranked 41th on the list.
“Not bad! But he’s still not worth my attention. It’s Shi Zhengyang, Dai Qian, Tang Yingjie, and Yu Yuankai who can threaten me!” Luo Ning replied after hearing the youth.
He knew that it was impossible to defeat Han Qianze and Duanmu Ying so his opponents were those people who ranked higher than him in the List of Top 100 Talents.
Su Mo’s Dragon Luck grew again after another victory.
One round after another, the competition continued.
In the western fighting ring, Han Qianze was invincible. No one could avoid the fate of being frozen.
Duanmu Ying was strong too. She brandished two short sabers and won every battle with a single lethal strike.
As time flew by, Su Mo already had five successive victories and his Dragon Luck was now four and a half feet long.
Meanwhile, Yu Yuankai, Tang Yingjie, Dai Qian, Shi Zhengyang, Zhu Shaojing, Honglian, and the other experts in the List of Top 100 Talents had yet to taste defeat as well.
However, Leng Yunfeng, who ranked 91st on the list, had lost one battle. He was decent, but not enough to withstand even two strikes from Tang Yingjie, who was ranked 19th.
The Second Elder stared at the western fighting ring with a solemn face as he stood in the spectator stand.
“There are actually many experts in Su Mo’s ring. Entering the top 20 can’t be easy!” he said anxiously.
“Fortunately, Su Mo is lucky! He hasn’t met any experts on the List yet!” Elder Wei said with serious complexion.
“That’s true!”
The Second Elder nodded and said. “I hope this kind of good luck will continue. If that were the case, even if he loses a fight or two, he can still enter the top 20.”
“Well, it’s Su Mo’s turn again.”
Both of them stopped talking and turned to look at the fighting ring, however, upon seeing Su Mo’s opponent, their faces changed at the same time.
“What bad luck! It’s Zhu Shaojing. He’s 86th on the list!” the Second Elder frowned and said.
Elder Wei stared at Su Mo with a serious face without saying anything. He was hoping that Su Mo could create another miracle.
Meanwhile, Su Mo laughed immediately when he realized that Zhu Shaojing was his opponent.
On the other hand, Zhu Shaojing’s face turned pale as he saw Su Mo.
“Zhu Shaojing, let’s fight again!” Su Mo smiled.

Gateway

Now he has to come to terms with a significant loss of recent memory and his apparent death and rebirth, provided he can survive the rigors of the Tutorial on Gateway Station and whatever waits for him after the Tutorial. Updates. When I can... sorry. Author's Note. Gateway is a portal/isekai style GameLit novel, but it has two main lead characters and will eventually have a small cast of minor lead characters to support them. There will be small elements of base building / kingdom management added as well over time, but they will not be the focus. Gateway really is a slow burn that takes some time to get going unfortunately, but I hope you find it's worth the wait. Thank you! p.s. Book One is finally done (only needed one more chapter unfortunately...) but I'm off hiatus now and will be starting on Book Two right away!

The Tales of YAP: The Superhero Series
“Listen well, and listen kindly, for my story is a story of contradictions; of the dead becoming alive and the weak becoming strong. Likewise, those nominated as the strong are reduced into the weakest of foes. And lovers, those sweet companions, are nothing but crazed psychopaths. This is the type of story I will tell. The story only I can speak of for it is solely mine. And now, as I recount it to you, thence forth it shall belong to all that hear of it. Listen well, then, for I shall begin.”Sooo, that’s it. The world isn’t what it is. The dead are alive. The weak become strong. And bla bla bla. The normal days of a superhero-in-training, I suppose. I hope you have a bit of patience because my story is a long one, and it starts out in the same old, boring world. My name is Yassi Anne P. Sorento, and this is my story before I became the superhero I am today. (First posted on Webnovel with the same title and under the name, Hua_Li_An.)
