Chapter 477: Gravitational Field
Translator: Transn Editor: Transn
“Murong Wudi wants to fight Su Mo? Su Mo will lose for sure!”
“Murong Wudi’s talent is unprecedented. He will be listed on the List of Top 10,000 Continental Talents someday!”
“Haha! There’s no other Lv 3 Enlightenment Realm martial artist that can beat Murong Wudi!”
The crowd burst into a clamor and the entire valley suddenly became noisy.
The purple-robed young man looked handsome with his hair dancing in the wind. The edges and corners of his face were sharp, his eyebrows looked like swords, and his eyes looked like stars, all of which made him look incomparably noble.
This person was called Murong Wudi, a name that was known to everyone in the Celestialspirit Sect. He was known not only for his talent but also for the fact that he was the Sect Master’s pro-disciple in the Celestialspirit Sect.
All eyes were fixed on Murong Wudi. They looked at him with many different emotions, such as envy, admiration, adoration, and appreciation.
Murong Wudi ignored the crowd and just stared at Su Mo down in the fighting ring.
“Do you dare fight me?” he asked gently.
Su Mo was looking up at Murong Wudi. He was surprised that the pro-disciple of the Sect Master had come to challenge him!
“I already said that anyone under Lv 4 Enlightenment Realm can challenge me!” Su Mo said with a smile.
His words contained a confidence of invincibility— he was not scared at all. He would not even be afraid to fight the Sect Master at his level, not to mention the Sect Master’s disciple.
“Good! You’re qualified to fight me!” Murong Wudi nodded slightly. He did not land in the fighting ring but remained in midair.
Su Mo curled his mouth and said with disdain, “That’s big talk. I’m wondering if you are qualified to let me move!”

“Interesting.”
Upon hearing this, Murong Wudi narrowed his eyes and curved his mouth into a smile. “Since I started practicing martial arts, I’ve never lost a single battle against a martial artist at the same level as me. That’s why I’m named after ‘Wudi’ (invincible). I’ve never lost before, and I’ll never lose in the future!”
On Murong Wudi’s face lay the confidence of invincibility. It was a confidence built on accumulated victories and a confidence of matchlessness.
Su Mo scorned inwardly. “It turns out that this guy named himself ‘invincible’. What a stupid, cheeky fu*ker.”
“Unfortunately my friend, since I started practicing martial arts, I’ve never lost a single battle against a martial artist who was two or three levels higher than mine. I’m afraid that the ‘invincible’ in your name will need to be changed today!”
Su Mo gave a tit-for-tat answer. He could not stand such an arrogant guy.
Even Su Mo did not dare to say that he was truly invincible against those at the same level. After all, in such a big world, there had to be numerous, incredible talents like him!
Su Mo’s voice spread out in all directions and stunned the crowd.
“Oh, Lord! Su Mo’s too arrogant!”
“Shamelessly boasting in front of Murong Wudi… how ignorant Su Mo is!”
“Haha! Even if Su Mo is a monstrous talent, even if he has incredible combat strength, he’s no match for Murong Wudi. Maybe he doesn’t know what he was saying!”
Everybody was talking about it and thought that Su Mo was blindly arrogant. Almost nobody thought that he could win.
On the mountain peak, Hong Qingxuan became serious because Murong Wudi’s reputation was so great. It was said that the martial arts technique that he practiced was extremely extraordinary and nobody could exert their full strength against him.

“Junior Sister Hong, do you think that Su Mo can contend with Murong Wudi?” Huang Yao stared at Murong Wudi with keen eyes full of adoration. However, she knew the sad fact that she did not deserve him at all.
Compared with Murong Wudi, Su Mo suited her better!
Huang Yao did not ask if Su Mo could defeat Murong Wudi; instead, she used “contend”. There was no chance to defeat him, not to her knowledge.
“Brother Su Mo shall prevail!” Hong Qingxuan answered affirmatively. However, her eyebrows furrowed tightly.
Huang Yao was shocked for a moment and murmured, “Uh… I don’t think so.”
Upon hearing Su Mo’s words, Murong Wudi’s face fell and a mocking look glittered in his eyes.
“I thought that you were a good talent, but it turns out you’re just an ignorant piece of sh*t!”
Murong Wudi shook his head and coldly said, “Well, then I’ll just crush your confidence and show you what invincibility at the same level looks like!”
Murong Wudi’s aura surged after he finished his words. His robe started to dance without the wind, and then an invisible force instantly shrouded Su Mo.
“This is…” Su Mo’s face changed suddenly. He could feel a massive force of gravity being exerted on him.
The force of gravity was more than 500,000 kilograms and was crushing down upon Su Mo like a huge mountain, making his bones creak and groan.
Murong Wudi smiled in midair and said, “Su Mo, this is the Gravitational Field of the Mountains-weight Skill that I practice. Even if you have incredible combat strength, in my Gravitational Field, you can’t wield a tiny part of your strength. You’ve lost!”
Murong Wudi looked full of pride. The Gravitational Field could completely crush a normal Lv 3 Enlightenment Realm martial artist in a split second.
“Gravitational Field? That’s where your so-called ‘invincibility’ comes from?” Su Mo looked solemn now because he had never encountered such an unusual martial arts technique.
However, Su Mo was not afraid. He loudly said, “Even so, you will lose!”
Su Mo’s body shone with a golden light with golden scales covering him. The upsurge in physical strength had greatly lessened the force of gravity on him.
Then, Su Mo moved suddenly. The Sky-crushing Sword was unsheathed instantaneously and it danced in an upward arc.
The dazzling, five-colored Sword Qi tore apart the Gravitational Field and skyrocketed.
However, due to the Gravitational Field’s effect, the power of the Sword Qi was halved.
“A trifling trick!” Murong Wudi disdainfully smiled and easily shattered the Sword Qi with a single punch.
“Su Mo, you will not defeat me!
“Under my Gravitational Field, not only will your body undergo a tremendous force of gravity, but so will your Vital Spirit and attacks. Everything is under the influence of the Gravitational Field, so you can’t exert even half of your strength. How can you defeat me?”
Murong Wudi was teasing Su Mo now. He was pissed off by Su Mo’s arrogance, so he decided to toy with Su Mo before his victory.

Greg Veder vs The World
The average person can easily understand that when it comes to living in a villain-infested, crime-filled city like Brockton Bay, treating life like a game can get you killed. It's kind of ironic, then, that Greg Veder has always been far more serious about games than he ever has about life. (Worm/The Gamer AU)

Of Men and Dragons, Book 1
Book 1 is now available on Kindle, or in paperback/hardcover! You can buy it here! Jack crash-landed on a planet where the natives are seven-foot-tall carnivorous cat-lizards currently somewhere between stone and bronze age. The good news is the natives think the ship that crashed into their mountain is a dragon and are steering clear of it. The bad news is they just left one of their own as a sacrifice to appease the beast. No matter what Jack and his AI co-pilot decide, his life just got a lot more complicated... ATTENTION: This is soft sci-fi rather than hard sci-fi, hence why I chose that tag. For those of you unfamiliar with the distinction, here's what Wikipedia had to say. 1. It explores the "soft" sciences, and especially the social sciences (for example, anthropology, sociology, or psychology), rather than engineering or the "hard" sciences (for example, physics, astronomy, or chemistry). 2. It is not scientifically accurate or plausible; the opposite of hard science fiction. Soft science fiction of either type is often more concerned with character and speculative societies, rather than speculative science or engineering. The term first appeared in the late 1970s and is attributed to Australian literary scholar Peter Nicholls.

Apex Immortal: a LitRPG system rampage
"Across the multiverse where the contest for power is the only constant, only a handful have succeeded in reaching the ultimate heights of ascendency and gained the title Apex Immortal. Dominus is one of them, unsurpassed in overwhelming violence, feared across universes. Now, memories locked and stranded far away from everything he’d built, Dominus will face enemies that will challenge even his powers and discover that change is more difficult than destruction." I’ve been writing fiction on and off for the last decade and I’ve always wondered how a peak immortal (or an OP superhero) would single handedly conquer a world that mirrors our own in all of its complexity. As a politics nerd, this is my attempt at answering that question using Machiavelli’s “The Prince” as the primary playbook. The “monsters” are entire political systems with entrenched culture. Expect many versions of real world political systems (and cultures) to be on the hit list. The MC has to successfully institute regime and cultural change without engaging in wholesale genocide and causing the state to fail. Expect things to go wrong pretty quickly as escalating and cascading political and economic effects rapidly go out of control. Methods deployed are not for the faint hearted.
