Chapter 612: Showdown
Translator: Transn Editor: Transn
Everyone was dumbstruck.
It turned out that Su Mo wasn’t being unreasonable, instead his answer was impeccable.
But the judge had accused him of quibbling and then he eliminated him.
No one had doubted the Horse-faced Elder, Shan Gu. He was not only an Upper King Craftsman, but he was also the deputy Deputy Hall Chief of the Sky-sea Pavilion’s Craftsmanship Hall.
Given his social status and the level of his craftsmanship, he couldn’t possibly be lying.
The face of the judge kept twitching. He felt his face burning with embarrassment and he could sense that the people were staring at him and they thought that he was incompetent and unfit to be a judge.
He unconsciously dropped his head, and he was also very furious. He thought to himself that if it weren’t for Su Mo, he wouldn’t be humiliated like this!
At this moment, he harboured a bitter resentment toward Su Mo!
Su Mo let out a smile of relief. “There are indeed experts within the Sky-sea Pavilion after all!”
This old man deserved the title of the King level craftsman, and indeed others were not even comparable.
Su Mo walked back immediately. Since he passed the first round of differentiating materials, he certainly wouldn’t leave just like that.
A while later, the test continued as there were still several people behind Su Mo.
However, the judge was too embarrassed to continue hosting, so another middle-aged man with darker skin took over him.
This dark skinned man was tall and his facial features were rough. He also belonged to the Upper Lv 5 craftsman.
” I’m Zhao Quan, an Upper Lv 5 craftsman of the Sky-sea Pavilion. I’ll preside over the following contest. Let’s continue.” He announced loudly.
Soon, the first round of differentiating materials was over.

The first round eliminated more than half of the participants, with only about 3,000 remaining.
“Now let’s proceed to the second round of the competition, it’s a test of your craftsmanship!” Zhao Quan stood up and announced loudly, “All participants in this round will be crafting the same weapon, the Lower Lv 5 Frost Saber. You can only pass the round as long as you could craft an Upper Grade Frost Saber within two hours. In other words, you will be eliminated if you exceed the time limit, or fail to craft a Frost Saber of acceptable quality.”
After hearing Zhao Quan, many participants looked heavy. The Sky-sea Pavilion gave them a tough challenge!
Weapons with ice property were the most difficult to craft.
As known to all, smelting materials with fire was necessary for crafting weapons. However, weapons that had ice properties had a natural resistance to fire.
Therefore, crafting the Lower Lv 5 Frost Saber was as difficult as crafting a Medium Lv 5 weapon.
“There are 500 identical crafting furnaces here. You will be split into groups of 500 and take turns to craft your weapons. The materials will be uniformly distributed by the Sky-sea Pavilion.” Zhao Quan pointed to the hundreds of crafting furnaces in the center of the site and continued.
After that, he acquired a storage ring from the previous host and distributed batches of the crafting materials onto the crafting furnaces.
“Let’s begin!” Zhao Quan said loudly.
500 participants immediately walked out from the crowd and began crafting the Frost Saber.
57 materials were needed to craft the Lower Lv 5 Frost Saber. The Sky-sea Pavilion had prepared identical materials for every participant.
The tedious process began, and everyone was at their own pace.
Ming Yu was in the first batch. She was the fastest of them all and it only took her less than an hour to successfully craft her weapon.

A light-blue long saber appeared in her hand. It was about one meter long, and it gave off a powerful frost air without any Qi strength injected into it.
The frost air seemed to have frozen the surrounding air. The moisture in the air turned into drops of ice shards, which fell to the ground with a spluttered sound.
Ming Yu’s expression was indifferent although she was oozing confidence. She believed that no one in this Craft Tower could surpass her in craftsmanship, except Shan Gu, the Lv 6 craftsman.
Not even the judges of the Sky-sea Pavilion could surpass her, they were at most equivalent to her.
After Ming Yu’s success, many people successfully crafted their weapons one after another.
However, there were many who failed due to the same reason. The intense conflict between the ice property and the flame caused the materials to disintegrate.
There wasn’t a second chance given, so they were eliminated right away.
Time slowly passed by, and one by one, the craftsmen successfully crafted their weapons .
Two hours passed by quickly. There were already over two hundreds participants who had successfully crafted their weapons. Several dozen people were eliminated, while the rest were still trying.
Zhao Quan stood up, glanced at the people who were still working on their weapons, and said “Time’s up. You are all eliminated.”
All of those people carried a bitter look upon hearing Zhao Quan. Their failure wasn’t entirely due to the lack of craftsmanship skill but of the lack of time rather!
One by one, those who failed left sadly.
Zhao Quan then stepped into the field to inspect the quality of the successfully crafted Frost Sabers.
“Upper grade, qualified!” Zhao Quan briefly checked Ming Yu’s Frost Saber and nodded with satisfaction.
“Upper grade, qualified!”
“Low grade, out!”
“Medium grade, out!”
“Upper grade, qualified!”
Zhao Quan inspected all of the Frost Sabers and eliminated many participants in the process.
The Sky-sea Pavilion imposed strict requirements and only the upper grade weapons were qualified. Even if a participant managed to craft the weapon within the given time, he would be eliminated if his weapon’s quality failed to meet the requirements.
In the end, only over 80 people in the first batch passed the test. The rests were all eliminated.
Su Mo sighed with sympathy. “They don’t even accept medium grades. Sky-sea Pavilion is extremely picky!”
Soon, the second batch of 500 people began crafting, followed by the third and the fourth batch…
Su Mo was still at the last of the line, but to his surprise, Sikong Yan was also waiting.
He even gave Su Mo a malicious look provocatively.
Su Mo immediately realized that Sikong Yan wanted to compete against him in this test of craftsmanship!
Su Mo shook his head helplessly as he wasn’t interested in comparing with anyone. He was solely aiming to become Sky-sea Pavilion’s honorary craftsman!
However, he wasn’t afraid of Sikong Yan either. He was equally confident in his craftsmanship as he was in his strength.
Time passed by quickly. A few hours later, there were five batches of participants that finished their test.
Amongst these five batches, the most successful batch had over 90 people who passed, while the least successful only had 35.
Zhao Quan distributed the crafting materials and said to the remaining 400 participants, including Su Mo. “The sixth batch can start crafting your weapons!”
Su Mo stepped into the field upon hearing Zhao Quan.
Right at this moment, Sikong Yan glanced over.
“Su Mo, why don’t we have a showdown?” Sikong Yan exclaimed loudly
