Chapter 809: The Wildfire Formation
Translator: Transn Editor: Transn
Su Mo had completely lost himself in killing.
Every time his Dark Force ran out, he took some elixir and continued to kill.
The Lv 9 True Darkness Realm malicious ghosts were nothing but sandbags in front of Su Mo. They did not stand a chance to attack him.
Basically, every strike from Su Mo could kill a bunch of ghosts. The total number that he killed grew quickly.
Bunch after bunch, the ghosts were cut into pieces and then vanished.
After a certain period of killing, there came a huge rumble when his strike killed the last 100 ghosts.
Subsequently, the hellish space spun and everything vanished.
Su Mo then appeared in a passage. He turned around to discover that he was just three meters away from the big hall.
After a short while, he took a deep breath and walked forth carefully.
The passage was not real, as if it had been formed by some formation power. He had to beware of the dangers.
He kept his Dark Force running while advancing, prepared for unknown dangers.
After walking for 15 minutes, he felt happy when he saw the end of this passage, then he picked up his pace.
Then, he went out of the passage and appeared in a space of void.
Su Mo looked up and saw a huge mansion hanging in the sky.
The mansion was about 25 kilometers long and wide. It looked like a city floating in the void.
There were numerous palaces in the mansion, and they were well-preserved.
At this point, many people were flying above the mansion, madly attacking something. There were dazzling firelights and continuous massive rumbles.
“Are they fighting for some treasures?”
As Su Mo’s eyes glittered, he immediately skyrocketed toward the mansion.

He arrived at the closed front gate in no time.
Above the gate, there were two imposing words, “Fire Burn”, which looked like two burning fires.
Su Mo murmured, “So this is the inner mansion of the Sky-burn Mansion.” The name though was quite similar to the Firescorching Palace of the Firmament Palace.
“Rumble!”
Huge explosions rose continuously. Su Mo looked up and saw more than 20 martial artists who were under attack.
There were Sikong Yan, Sang Tian, and many Martial King Realm experts.
Only one of them was not in the Martial King Realm, but the Half Step to Martial King. He was tall and strong, wearing a moon-white robe and looking resolute. He was incredibly powerful because he could casually cast out fist radiances that carried massive power. His aura was even stronger than that of Sikong Yan.
Obviously, these people were trying to invade into the mansion by force. But the defensive formation of this mansion was continuously firing huge fireballs to repel them.
This defensive formation did not attack for no reason. The fireballs were only against those who tried to break into the mansion.
The fireballs cast out by the formation were extremely powerful; even Sang Tian could not break through them.
The fireballs were still raging with dazzling firelight and they kept the intruders away from the mansion.
“Swoosh!”
Suddenly, a firelight flashed downward and stopped in front of Su Mo. It was Sikong Yan.
“Su Mo, this is the inner mansion of the Sky-burn Mansion. But we are blocked outside!”
Sikong Yan sighed. He had tried many times yet he failed.
Fortunately, the defensive formation was not set to kill the intruders. People could still flee after their failed attempts to break in.
Su Mo looked at the gate and asked, “Why do you have to break in from above? Can’t you enter the mansion through the gate?”

“A Lv 5 Martial King Realm expert tried to open the gate, and then he was killed instantly!” Sikong Yan looked solemn.
Su Mo’s brow furrowed tightly. With that being the case, they could only stand and stare at this treasure-filled mansion.
After a short while, the rest of the martial artists gave up and stayed away from the mansion.
Then, the formation stopped shooting fireballs and everything became silent again.
Everybody looked serious and had no idea what to do.
At this point, Sang Tian looked at the crowd and said loudly, “Everyone, there’s one way to enter this mansion, and it will require us to work together.”
“What is it?”
“Sang Tian, are you sure?”
“Tell us!”
The crowd began speaking. Su Mo also looked at him curiously.
Sang Tian paused for a while and said, “The formation that shrouded this mansion is called the Wildfire Formation. It is indeed powerful, but most of its power has diminished after so many years!
“As you all know, formations need power supplies. The Wildfire Formation needs to absorb fire element powers from the void. Its power will decrease as long as we keep attacking it.
“Therefore, if we keep attacking it, I think it will take three days tops to drain its power. By then, we can all enter the mansion easily!”
The crowd started to think about this dumb solution. They could not come up with any better idea.
“What do you think?”
Sang Tian scanned the crowd with his eyes and said, “We can only enter the mansion if we join forces.”
“I agree!”
“Me too!”
“Then let’s continue!”
The crowd agreed, as did Su Mo.
As long as he could enter the mansion, he would not say no.
Meanwhile, he had some thoughts while looking at the cold and ugly Sang Tian.
“This guy will be a dangerous person if we enter the mansion and find some treasures.”
“What are you waiting for? Let’s do it!”
Then, Sang Tian took the lead and flew above the mansion again.
The defensive formation responded instantly, casting out a number of formidable fireballs at him.
But Sang Tian was extremely powerful. He wielded his glowing long saber and chopped at the fireballs.
“Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh!”
The others also followed him and started to attack.
So did Su Mo.
“Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh!”
As soon as he flew above the mansion, a dozen fireballs, which contained the eruptive fire element power, dashed toward him.
“Break!”
Su Mo swung his sword that cast out rows of Sword Qi toward the incoming fireballs.
“Rumble!”
One after another, the fireballs were destroyed with a series of explosions.
All of a sudden, he was shocked because his Holy Son Token vibrated again.
“What happened?”

Dear Spellbook (Link to rewrite in blurb)
A rewrite of this story has been posted here: https://www.royalroad.com/fiction/49881/dear-spellbook-a-fantasy-time-loop-rewrite Live. Study. Repeat. Tal is a sorcerer in a world where they are killed on sight, traveling with a man charged with carrying out the task. Every night Tal must pretend to study his spellbook to maintain his disguise as a Wizard’s Apprentice. If his disguise slips and his charade is uncovered, it will be his death. Seeking answers to mysteries that arose after his parent’s murder, Tal must accept any allies, no matter the risks, to uncover his family’s secret. But when he wakes up one morning to find himself trapped repeating the same day, he has to overcome his challenges all on his own. This story is an adaptation of a D&D campaign I ran but never was able to complete. I tried to capture the feel of a table-top RPG session —tropes and humor— without relying on the mechanics. This is not a litRPG or gamelit story and no D&D mechanics or system appear in the game. It follows one member of an adventuring party as he deals with the problems with that arise from being an adventurer. Namely, getting roped into adventures. The story has a time loop element, but will eventually move past that. This story explores the magic systems, the history, and the lore of the world through the lens of Tal's entries in his Spellbook and interludes from other written works in the world. New entries on Mondays Credit to JackOfHearts for the cover.
