Chapter 816: Be Everlasting
Translator: Transn Editor: Transn
Taking Su Mo, the burning middle-aged man shuttled through the portals and spaces without staying in the third floor.
They were inside the Sky-burn Tower and were about to go to the very top floor.
About 10 minutes later, they succeeded in arriving at the top floor without any impediments. The top floor was narrow compared to the first, it had a radius of more than a thousand miles.
The ground was only surmounted by a flaming mountain in this space.
Swoosh!
The burning middle-aged man brought Su Mo to the foot of the flaming mountain before he stopped.
“Huo Yan seeks to see Lord Fire!” The burning man worshipped the flaming mountain with reverence.
Su Mo looked at the mountain in puzzled astonishment and speculated that Lord Fire was in it.
“Since they were at the Sky-burn Tower of the Firescorching Palace, and I am the Holy Son of Firmament Palace, it should be safe!” Su Mo thought quickly.
However, he could not be completely relieved until he was out of danger.
After all, Su Mo had no idea of Sky-burn Tower’s history as well as Lord Fire. Whether Lord Fire would let him go because he was the Holy Son’s sake or not seemed uncertain.
Anyhow, Su Mo was not sure what would follow.
All was silent after the middle-aged man’s words.
Another dozen seconds later, a sound broke through the flaming mountain.
“Come in!”
The voice was rich but contains endless vicissitudes of life.
Then, right above the mountain, the flame dispersed and a spacious passage appeared.
“Let’s go!”
The middle-aged man said to Su Mo and then strode into the channel.
Su Mo took a deep breath, following at his heels.
He had never thought about escaping as he was no match for the man.

There was not a single trace of fire in the deep passage, which led to the interior of the mountain. It seemed extremely tranquil.
A moment later, Su Mo and the burning man came to a commodious stone chamber.
There was nothing but a crimson figure sitting cross-legged at the center.
This crimson shadow with his back to Su Mo was similar to the middle-aged man, just without flames.
There was neither strong fire property nor aura on his body. It was as if he did not exist.
“My Lord Fire!” The middle-aged burning man bowed at once.
“What’s the matter?” An aged sound rose from the sitting figure.
“Lord Fire, a few people broke into the tower today, and I captured a man with the Holy Son token who said he was the Holy Son of Firmament Palace!” The burning man reported.
Then he took out the Holy Son token while he was talking.
“Holy Son!”
Hearing what the middle-aged man said, Lord Fire suddenly opened his eyes which had been closed for thousands of years. A ray of dazzling light emitted from his eyes, incinerating the space into nothingness.
Whoosh!
As soon as Lord Fire raised his hand, the Holy Son token flew towards him and landed in his hand.
Lord Fire nodded slightly after sizing up the token carefully.
Obviously, he had confirmed the token was authentic.
Then, Lord Fire slowly turned his body, looking at Su Mo.
Su Mo was slightly moved on seeing Lord Fire’s face. He looked unassuming and was just like any other elderly man. However, his lined eyes were imbued with signs of age and seemed as if he had seen the changes the world had undergone and experienced the vicissitudes of life.
“How did you get this token?” The old man asked in a low voice.

It was a gift from Earth Palace Master!” Su Mo answered truthfully. There was no need to conceal at that moment.
The old man nodded and waved to the middle-aged man, then he said coldly, “Huo Yan, you can go!”
“Fine, I’ll go right now!” The burning man nodded, taking a deep look at Su Mo.
Within minutes, only Su Mo and the elder were left in this stone chamber.
The old man sized up Su Mo carefully, then said in a low voice, “It seems that you have cultivated the Grand Chaos Five Elements Skill!”
Su Mo was startled that the old man not only knew of the Grand Chaos Five Elements Skill, but also could judge his cultivation. It seemed that his ranking in the Firescorching Palace was rather high.
“Senior, who are you?” Su Mo asked cautiously, placing his fists together. He could converse with the man only after ascertaining his identity.
On hearing Su Mo’s words, the old man said with a sigh, “I was the 10th Palace Master of Firescorching Palace!”
“The 10th Palace Master!” Su Mo’s eyes dilated with astonishment.
The position of the 10th Palace Master was much higher than Earth Palace Master!
One must know that the Firescorching Palace was the same as Firmament Palace, having dozens of masters.
The Earth Palace Master who retained his thoughts was just the last master of the Earth Palace. This elder, therefore, must have existed for an unimaginable long time.
However, doubts entered Su Mo’s mind. It was impossible for the 10th Palace Master of the Firescorching Palace to stay alive!
If so, why was he here instead of returning to Firmament Palace?
The elder sensed Su Mo’s confusion and said, “I am now the Item Spirit of Sky-burn Tower!”
“Item Spirit? How did such an expert become an Item Spirit?” Su Mo thought in dismay.
The old man’s eyes revealed the endless vicissitudes of life experienced as if he had been carried back into his memories. He said, “My lifespan had almost ended, so I assimilated myself into Sky-burn Tower so that there will be eternal spiritual wisdom in the world and also for the development of the Firescorching Palace.”
The old man’s words left Su Mo in a state of astoundment. Su Mo knew what the Item Spirit was. Theoretically, this man could exist forever as long as the Sky-burn Tower remained intact.
This was such a terrible mean that had realized immortality in a sense!
After a while, the elder looked at Su Mo again and asked in low tones, “How’s the Firmament Palace now? Is it still the overlord of the continent?”
Su Mo was startled by his question. A look of puzzlement appeared on his features. The old man was unaware that the Firmament Palace had perished!

The London Phantom: A Superhero Webnovel
London is an old city. It has survived floods, fires, plagues and the man-made smog of industry. It has stood firm against the armies of Vikings, Saxons, Normans and the aerial might of the Luftwaffe. It has borne witness to dynsatic feuds, civil wars, military occupation and the sin of regicide. Through all these disasters the city has survived not through force of arms, though its walls were once the envy of the world, but through adapting to the times. Enemies become dependant on the city, and the wealth of the world that flows through it, and so become new allies. If the rulers change, then the city welcomes them with open arms, and open lines of credit. In this way the city seeks to preserve its ancient rights and position of power. Superheroes are a new phenomenon. The first superpowered man walked out of the Nevada desert in 1950, and the world was forever changed. Across the planet, men and women with exceptional abilities made themselves known. At first, they were little more than another source of fear in the era of Mutually Assured Destruction, but over time attitudes changed and the concept of the Superhero was created in the city of Los Angeles. From there the phenomenon spread across the globe; superheroes went from being feared arms of the state to a symbol of hope in these maddening times. Times have changed. Sixty years from the emergence of the first superhero, the City of London stands on a precipice. Two years have passed since the madman Fawkes nearly brought down the United Kingdom and the remnants of the Bow Street Runners, London's premier superhero team, are struggling to keep order in a city that seems on the brink of collapse. London stands on a knife's edge, with criminal organisations that once stuck to the shadows becoming more bold, and ancient powers from myth and legend making themselves known. Alexander Laszewski has recently 'awakened' and has become entirely unremakable, effectively making himself invisible to the world. He must use his newfound power to navigate a city on the edge of collapse. If only he could figure out how to turn it off.

Quantum Worlds (A LitRPG dark fantasy)
Find the missing VIP in an illegal game world. Kill the monsters. Return home for the paycheck. Decorated Marine commander, Damon Williams, never thought his latest mission would take place in a full-immersion world fighting monsters… but when a high-value VIP disappears after being stealthily transported to a banned MMORPG, he's their only hope. Damon must lead a group of rescuers into an unforgiving world infested with terrifying monsters and worse. Pain is real. Death is permanent. He and his crew must adapt quickly, trust each other, and fight to survive. And if all that's not bad enough, they'll also have to race against time to avoid the realm’s disintegration and mutation effects. Quantum Worlds features race and class designations, unique creatures, dungeon crawling, level progression and Easter eggs that reference video games and pop culture. This a dark fantasy, but it also has sprinklings of humor throughout. It is a multi-cast, multi-pov story. In many ways, it is a melding of one of my favorite novels, “The Stand”, with my favourite genre, LitRPG. I don’t espouse to be anywhere near Stephen King, but I would like to think that I have succeeded in many areas here (you’ll be the judge of that). So, this thriller-style story has a lot of build-up and lots of drama. When it hits the 100-page mark, it starts to take off with some intense action and fight scenes (although there are battles long before that). Nothing comes easy for this group of rescuers. And the dangers are very real. This saga is already over 100 chapters with more to come. I hope you enjoy it and look forward to your reviews, comments, and feedback. Thanks. Chapters are uploaded every day at noon ET. Please do not repost this work anywhere without my written permission. Quantum Worlds is a participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge.
