Chapter 1220: The Lecture
Translator: Transn Editor: Transn
“There’s a big difference. The higher the level of your Martial Soul, the more powerful your Fighting Soul will be, after it has evolved!”
Mu Li said this nonchalently. Although she did not understand why he had asked such a question, as a instructor of the Southern Yard, she was obliged to answer any question of her students.
Su Mo now completely understood. It looked like he was right after all. In other words, he must raise his Martial Soul to the highest level before evolving it into a Fighting Soul.
The highest level–that would be Rank 9 Heaven Class!
“Thank you for your guidance, Instructor Mu!” Su Mo thanked her. He had originally wanted to ask about the situation of the Academy but thought better of it.
He could learn about it once he entered the Academy.
“The Southern Yard Square… there will be instructors lecturing there every month. Tomorrow’s a lecture day. You can visit the place to listen!” Mu Li said.
“Yes, I definitely will!” Su Mo nodded. He was quite curious. Instructors lecturing every month–the Academy really spared no efforts in nurturing its students.
Mu Li raised her head slightly. She did not stay. Instead, she turned and breezed out.
After that, Su Mo returned to his tower and continued cultivating quietly.
At this time, his Mind was communicating with and probing his Martial Soul.
To cultivate a Fighting Soul, he must first merge his Martial Soul with his Spiritual Soul. Then, with the help of the Ultimacy, they could evolve into a Fighting Soul.
It was not too difficult to merge his Martial Soul with his Spiritual Soul. With effort and some time, he could easily succeed.
But the Ultimacy was a tenuous, insubstantial force. He did not know how powerful it must get, before he could use it to evolve a Martial Soul!
After much pondering, Su Mo finally shook his head. There was no benefit in thinking too much. There must be a way. He would cross the bridge when he come to one.
Two days passed quickly as he cultivated quietly.
Early morning.
The Southern Yard had become lively. A large number of her disciples were walking to the square from their residences.
“There will be two lecturers today–Instructor Sun Zhongwen and Instructor Mu Li!”

“Every time Instructor Mu Li gives a lecture, it will be crowded!”
“Ha ha! Indeed. Although there are very few craftsmen among the Southern Yard disciples, every one wants a glimpse of a beautiful lecturer!”
“Oh, haven’t you heard? There is a new disciple in our Southern Yard. He was asked to be Grand Master Huoyuan’s disciple, but he refused!”
“I’ve heard about it. He must be a silly idiot who knows nothing!”
“… ”
In the tower.
Su Mo opened his eyes. He had overheard the conversations of the disciples passing by and was frowning slightly.
How did everyone know about this?
Then, he sighed and opened the tower gate. He left like the others in the direction of the Southern Yard Square.
The Southern Yard was vast like a city. Su Mo finally arrived at the Southern Yard Square after traversing countless buildings.
The Southern Yard Square had a radius of five kilometers. It was very big, standing in the middle of the Southern Yard.
When Su Mo arrived at the Square, he cast his eyes around and found a huge crowd there. More than 4,000 people had congregated.
The disorganized place was bustling with noise and people.
Su Mo was secretly stunned by the auras of these few thousand disciples. Very few were below the Martial Emperor Realm–not even 10% of them.
Nearly 90% were of the Martial Emperor Realm. They were brutally strong.
Su Mo could only sigh in his heart. This martial arts school was so terrifying. If an ordinary outer mansion disciple was of the Martial Emperor Realm, an inner disciple would definitely be of the Martial Honored Realm.
A wooden, 6-meter-high platform had been erected at one end of the square. The platform was not large, with a radius of 9 meters or so. It was clearly a lecturing platform.
Su Mo knew no one in the Shenwu Academy. After arriving at the square, he stood in a corner, waiting quietly.
After a short wait of about an hour, a middle-aged man soared over from a distance, landing steadily on the wooden platform.
The middle-aged man looked imposing. The aura from his body was expansive and powerful. It was impossible to gauge its strength.
“Our salutes to Instructor Sun!”
“Our greetings to Instructor Sun!”
With his arrival, many disciples on the square began to salute him with a cupped fist in a hand, bowing.

“There’s no need for such courtesy. Pay attention to the lecture!” The middle-aged man waved his hand and said loudly.
Soon, the crowd quietened down. Almost all the disciples sat down in a cross-legged position.
Su Mo saw that and followed suit. He too was waiting for Instructor Sun’s lecture.
“Today, I shall expound on the Fighting Soul!” Instructor Sun’s eyes swept across the entire square, shining fiercely as he lectured aloud.
Su Mo was first shocked. Then, his face lit up in delight. He did not know enough about the Fighting Soul–and yet here was a lecture on it. How timely!
He immediately concentrated and prepared himself to listen.
After some time, when Instructor Sun had organized the thoughts in his mind, he finally spoke aloud.
“As we all know, a Fighting Soul evolves from a Martial Soul. A Martial Soul has many unique uses, like helping a martial artist absorb the Spiritual Qi of the Heavens and the Earth!
“Take a Sword Martial Soul for example. It can improve the attack of a martial artist, making it keener and more lethal. Or a Monolith Martial Soul. It can intensify a martial artist’s attack, improving his defense as well.
“Of course, there are many different kinds of Martial Souls, like those supreme Martial Souls on the Ancient Martial Soul Board. They all possess incredible, unique powers… !”
Instructor Sun kept expounding eloquently. He began first with the predecessor of a Fighting Soul–the Martial Soul.
Below him, in a corner of the square, Su Mo’s eyes shone with astonishment as he listened on.
Instructor Sun was lecturing a fundamental introduction to the Martial Soul. Yet a phrase of his had provoked Su Mo’s curiosity.
The Ancient Martial Soul Board!
What kind of a board was that? A ranking of all the Martial Souls in the universe?
It looked like he must study this Ancient Martial Soul Board in the future. He must know if he possessed a Devouring Martial Soul like theirs!
“The evolution of a Martial Soul into a Fighting Soul is a Martial Soul’s first metamorphosis. To make sure it happens, you must depend on the Force of the Ultimacy. That will determine how powerful your Fighting Soul will be!
“It’s best to learn an Ultimacy suitable for your Martial Soul. Of course, certain supreme geniuses in the Five Elements can cultivate many different kinds of Ultimacy as well.
“After evolving into a Fighting Soul, a Martial Soul is not just stronger… it can soar into the sky and penetrated under the earth… as well as overturn rivers and the seas!”
Instructor Sun was serious about his lecture. He expounded on the evolutionary stages of a Martial Soul, as well as a Fighting Soul’s unique uses.
Below him, many disciples were listening carefully–although the knowledge expounded was not very profound and many already knew about it.
And yet, Instructor Sun’s lecture could deepen their understanding of the Fighting Soul.
Su Mo listened as if intoxicated. Instructor Sun’s points enlightened him and stimulated his understanding.
Take one example: to evolve a Fighting Soul from a Martial Soul, he would have to master an unique Ultimacy useful to his Martial Soul. Yet he knew nothing about the Ultimacy or the Devouring Martial Soul.
Instructor Sun’s lecture took two hours to complete.
After that, Instructor Sun did not stay. Instead, he soared instantly away.
Below the platform, Su Mo resembled a meditating old monk, trying to digest the contents of this lecture, sorting them out.
Whoosh!
Soon, the sound of something breaking through the air. A lovely white figure streaked in from afar, landing ethereally on the wooden platform.
Instructor Mu Li is here!
“Our greetings to Instructor Mu Li!”
“Our greetings to Instructor Mu Li!”
“Our greetings to Instructor Mu Li!”
The disciples all got out one after another to salute her, cupping a fist in a hand. They all looked agitated and more passionate than they were when facing Instructor Sun.
Mu Li was the youngest lecturer of the Shenwu Academy. She was also the prettiest, supported by countless disciples in the Academy.
Su Mo saw her and stood up at once. He was, however, not excited–he was preparing to leave.
He knew that Mu Li was a craftswoman and her lectures were all on craftsmanship. They would give him little help.
He did not want to pursue this art anymore. He would at most forge a few Natal Spiritual Swords and instead aim for the ultimate in martial arts.
Furthermore, what Instructor Sun had expounded was so vast and extensive. Su Mo would need some time to ponder it over.
