Chapter 1221: Taishi Xuan
Translator: Transn Editor: Transn
Su Mo turned and strode out of the square. There were inspirational flashes in his mind right now. He needed time to sort them out.
In the Firmament World, he had obviously no opportunity to hear an expert lecturer! His mind had opened up now as a result.
Since Su Mo was the only one leaving the square, Mu Li could tell it was him at a glance. She frowned her willow-shaped brows slightly.
She was already here, ready to lecture. And yet Su Mo had left. He was obviously not giving her face.
However, she did not make things difficult for him. After all, to attend a lecture was entirely the free will of a disciple. She had no right to keep him here to listen.
Moreover, in her eyes, Su Mo was simply an unreasonable person. He had even rejected Grand Master Huoyuan.
“No need for such courtesy!” Mu Li waved her sleeve and motioned for the disciples to dispense with ceremony.
Although Mu Li did not blame Su Mo, someone else did.
“Stop!”
A bellow erupted and reverberated throughout the square. At the front, a young man in purple turned his head around and stared at Su Mo, shouting coldly. “Who allowed you to go? Come back!”
Su Mo heard him and frowned. He halted his steps and turned back to look.
It was a handsome young man, with distinguished features and a fair complexion. He was clad in a lavish purple robe like a suave young master.
Su Mo’s eyes stared into the young man’s. A fierce glint glittered in his own.
The man was very powerful and Su Mo could not tell his cultivation. Yet he felt that the man must have reached at least Lv 5, or even Lv 6 Martial Emperor Realm.
“I’m telling you to come back. Didn’t you hear?” The young man in purple roared out coldly. His head was slightly raised and he spoke in a forceful, bullying tone, not entertaining any rejections.

Many other disciples in the square stared mockingly at Su Mo.
This lad had offended someone he should not have. He would most likely suffer for it!
Su Mo frowned and his eyes narrowed. A desire to kill had arisen in his heart, but he was fearful of the other man’s power.
“Taishi Xuan, what do you want?”
Mu Li spoke. She glared icily at the young man in purple, her voice glacial.
The young man in purple heard her and turned around to look. His expression became normal again and he laughed lightly. “Instructor Mu Li, this man did not give you face. I can’t bear it–I must teach him how to behave!”
“Don’t make any trouble. Let him go!” Mu Li shook her head.
She was feeling very helpless inside. This Taishi Xuan was arrogant and absolutely lawless within the Shenwu Academy, thanks to his backing and status.
Even worse, he had been bothering her incessantly, wooing her fervently.
“Instructor Mu Li, I’m not making any trouble!”
The young man in purple, Taishi Xuan, shook his head and continued. “Your presence here has honored all of Southern Yard. If he wasn’t here in the first place, I would let him off. But he is insulting you if he comes and then leaves!”
Taishi Xuan turned back and stared at Su Mo intently. He snorted. “Anyone insulting Instructor Mu is insulting me, Taishi Xuan. You will only learn and remember after I teach you a harsh lesson.”
Taishi Xuan’s eyes were like a glacial knife, keenly and relentlessly cutting into Su Mo’s body.
“But you must have the ability to do that first!” Su Mo replied indifferently. Although he had no confidence of winning, he did not want to eat humble pie and submit.
He did not want any trouble, but he was not afraid of trouble himself!
“Oh-ho! So you’re tough, aren’t you?”
Taishi Xuan saw Su Mo answer back and he raised his eyebrows. An urge to fight came over him.

Not many people had dared to oppose him in the Southern Yard. Yet this greenhorn had dared to contradict him. He must be feeling quite brave!
Clackety-clack!
Soon, Taishi Xuan had strode over to Su Mo. The Dark Force within his body was raging, as if he would powerfully assault him.
“I’d like to see how powerful you are, acting so arrogantly!” Taishi Xuan’s eyes shone with brilliance as he mocked Su Mo.
Su Mo immediately tensed up and the five divine elixirs inside his body were mobilized, ready to fight.
“Hold it!” Mu Li’s lovely face was icy-cold. She yelled in a tender voice and her powerful, Honorable aura overwhelmed the entire square.
Her mighty, coercive power was terrifying, like a towering mountain or the torrential sea.
Instantly, everyone felt a heavy weight on their shoulders, as if the pull of gravity had increased ten-thousand fold. They were restrained and could not move.
Mu Li was enraged too–enraged by Taishi Xuan.
His bullying ways had made her very unhappy. If it had been anyone else, she would have acted.
Then, Mu Li issued a cold warning. “Taishi Xuan, he’s someone Grand Master Huoyuan values highly. You’d better not act rashly!”
She had announced Grand Master Huoyuan’s name to frighten the man.
Taishi Xuan’s status was too high for her try anything else. She could only use Grand Master Huoyuan’s name in an effort to stop him and forestall any trouble.
After all, Su Mo was indeed someone whom Grand Master Huoyuan valued highly. She could not allow anything to happen to him.
“Grand Master Huoyuan?” Taishi Xuan was already suppressed by her powerful, Honorable aura. He halted his steps and started.
He sized Su Mo up with some astonishment, finally realizing something. “I was wondering why you look so unfamiliar. Are you the boy who rejected Grand Master Huoyuan’s offer to be his disciple?”
“Oh, so that’s him!”
“I was wondering who he is. So, it’s that lad!”
“Is he so gifted in craftsmanship?”
“A brain-dead idiot!”
The rest of the disciples on the square realized the same thing and sized Su Mo up with their astonished eyes.
Somehow, the fact that Grand Master Huoyuan wanted to teach Su Mo craftsmanship had spread around. Now, they were saying that Grand Master Huoyuan wanted to take him as a disciple as well!
Su Mo’s refusal had astonished everyone.
Who, after all, was Grand Master Huoyuan? A pre-eminent craftsman of the Saint class–a supreme presence in the entire Ancientspirit Galaxy!
In their eyes, anyone who had the audacity to reject him was either an extraordinary person, or a brain-dead idiot.
In their eyes, Su Mo was very ordinary. He was not anyone special.
Su Mo turned his gaze at Mu Li. A look of apology and gratitude flashed across his eyes. He had not realized that his departure would constitute an insult to her.
However, she had still helped him out, making him feel quite apologetic.
“You may go!” Mu Li put away her powerful, Honorable aura and said icily to Su Mo.
Su Mo nodded and saluted her with a cupped fist in a hand. He cast a glance at Taishi Xuan and then strode out.
Taishi Xuan did not make things difficult for Su Mo. He stared at Su Mo’s departing figure and bellowed coldly, “If you dare to do the same the next time, I will make you regret coming to the Shenwu Academy!”
Taishi Xuan’s voice was full of arrogant conceit, reverberating in Su Mo’s ears. It made Su Mo clenched his fists involuntarily.
What an absolute bully!
However, Su Mo’s stature was inferior to the man’s. He could only endure for the time being.
Su Mo left the square very quickly, disppearing in everyone’s sight.

Who will gain strength and who’ll leave with trauma? Find out on this week’s episode of the Species Tournament! ................................................................................................... Additional notes (for those who want more details before giving the novel a try): - It’s a battle royale type of setting between humans, pixies, elves, and dwarves organized by a Television Channel from the Demon World. - The MC foolishly decides to join the competition and will struggle to redeem himself throughout the story. The unfolding events will force him and his friends to mature in different ways. - Each round will be held in a different location/planet. The rounds and the locations will become crazier as the plot progresses. - There will be a mystery aspect to the story, since the demons don’t really like spoon feeding contestants on what is going on. - You can expect some magic elements, though contestants won't have much access to them. - The members of each species will have their own unique worlds, back-stories, motivations, and traits. Some will fight for personal reasons while others for the sake of their people. The needs of many vs. the needs of the individual will clash on several occasions. - Finally, there will be twists and turns at every corner, so one should never get too comfortable. Thanks in advance to all who read my story, and I’d love to hear your thoughts on it!
