Gu Tianyu nodded and then turned to Su Mo and said, “Brother Shangguan, please stay at my residence while I go and meet my father!”

“Sure!” Su Mo said as he cupped his fist at Gu Tianyi. He had expected Gu Tianyi to bring him to the King but Gu Tianyi intended to go alone.

However, it did not matter to Su Mo as long as he could rescue Nie Qian and Han Ying.

Gu Tianyi then instructed a thin servant, saying, “Xiao Liu, this is Brother Shangguan. He is my honored guest. Bring him to the Emerald Residence.”

“Yes, Your Highness!”

Xiao Liu bowed to receive the instruction and with great respect, he said to Su Mo, “Sir, please follow me!”

Xiao Liu then led Su Mo deep into Yi Palace while Gu Tianyi left to meet the King.

As Su Mo was walking on a shady path, he noticed that there were many maids and servants. They came and went without stopping. In other palaces, there would be lots of eunuchs but there were only ordinary servants in this palace.

Soon, Su Mo came to the Emerald Residence. There was a large courtyard which was formed by a small palace and two lofts.

The courtyard was clean and beautiful and many unique plants and flowers were planted in it, filling the air with sweet fragrances.

A maid in a green shirt was watering the flowers.

“Sir, this is the Emerald Residence!” Xiao Liu said respectfully to Su Mo when they stepped into the Emerald Residence.

“This is quite a nice place!” Su Mo nodded. He was pleased with the residence.

Xiao Liu then turned his head and shouted at the maid who was watering the flowers and said, “Xiao Yan, come over now to greet Mr. Shangguan!”

When the maid in a green shirt heard him, she quickly ran over and bowed at Su Mo, saying, “Greetings, Mr. Shangguan, my name is Xiao Yan.”

“Please dispense with the formalities!”

Su Mo sized the maid up and waved his hand. The girl was pretty and she was about 18 years old. Her cultivation level was only at Rank 1 Spiritual Martial Realm.

“Mr. Shangguan, Xiao Yan is the maid who takes care of the Emerald Residence!”

Su Mo waved his hand and Xiao Liu left the residence.

Su Mo then walked toward the palace in the Emerald Residence, but after taking a few steps, he came to a halt.

Xiao Yan was following closely behind him.

“You don’t have to follow me. Please go on and water the plants!” Su Mo said with a smile.

“Yes!” Xiao Yan immediately nodded and dared not disobey him. She quickly went back to water the plants.

When Su Mo saw that, he turned away and walked into the palace.

The palace was not big. There was a hall, a side room, a cultivation chamber and several other things. It was clean and well maintained.

Not bad! Su Mo was full of praises in his heart. Xiao Yan must be the one who had cleaned up the palace.
