Chapter 1655: Birthday Banquet
Su Mo quickly arrived back at his stone palace in Red Dragon Camp after he left Saint Royal Palace.
“Wu Fengtian of the Sorcerer Tribe!”
As he sat in the palace, Su Mo muttered to himself. The Sorcerer Tribe was literally like gangrene on one’s foot, he could never get rid of them.
Wu Fengtian was mercilessly prideful and completely arrogant.
“I’d better raise my cultivation rank quickly!”
After a long moment of pondering, Su Mo sighed helplessly. He wasn’t in much danger now that he was in the Imperial Ancestor Court.
However, Wu Han and Wu Fengtian were not able to achieve their goal today and they would probably not leave yet.
The two might act recklessly and find an opportunity to assassinate him. Either that or they would return to the Sorcerer Tribe and find an expert and high-ranked martial artist there to take over their task.
If the Grand Priest came personally, Gu Tianyi might not be able to protect him.
Su Mo felt utterly helpless in this matter and he decided to stay in Imperial Ancestor Court Faction a while longer and hide himself.
Even if the Grand Priest came, it would be useless if he wasn’t able to find him.
With that, Su Mo started to cultivate. He did not merge the five elemental skills and did not ponder over other matters but concentrated solely on his cultivation.
His current cultivation rank was the Rank 3 Martial Honorable Realm but it was very hard for him to raise it to the Rank 4 Martial Honorable Realm and he required more time to stabilize himself.
Time flew by and half a month passed by in the blink of an eye. Su Mo peacefully lived this half a month cultivating.
One day, Su Mo received an invitation for a banquet.
The invitation invited Su Mo to attend the birthday banquet of the Second Princess of the Imperial Court.
The Second Princess was the most outstanding princess among all the Imperial Court. Her talents were unordinary, and she was no weaker than the Third Prince.

There were many princes and princesses in the Imperial Ancestor Court Faction. However, among the ten princes and princesses, the best talents were only 4 individuals, the First Prince, the Second Princess, Third Prince and Eighth Prince.
According to the man who sent the invitation, the Birthday Banquet of the Second Princess invited all talents who were below one hundred years of age.
Not only that, the Second Princess had also invited many exceptional talents from other superpowers.
However, the Second Princess did not know Su Mo. The person who had invited Su Mo was not the Second Princess, but Gu Tianyi.
As the most exceptional prince in the Imperial Court, Gu Tianyi could also invite a few familiar geniuses to attend the banquet with him.
Su Mo sighed inwardly. Since Gu Tianyi had invited him personally, he couldn’t reject the invitation.
3 days passed by in a flash!
At the dawn of the day, Su Mo put on red-colored armor. Looking dashing, he strode confidently out of the Red Dragon Camp.
This was armor specially customized for the Red Dragon Camp. As a troop of the Red Dragon Camp, he had to wear his own camp’s armor for the princess’ banquet.
The banquet was held in the west of the city, the garden of the Second Princess’ palace.
Saint Royal City was broad and Su Mo arrived on the west side of the city not long later. In front of him, a grand garden stood.
This garden had a length of a few dozen meters and a width of around
7 to 8 meters. The green walls of the garden were around a hundred feet high, and it was like a city wall that surrounded the inner garden city.
On the large gates of the garden, two large words, ‘Harmony Garden’, were written smoothly and elegantly, like flowing water.
Ten guards stood before the garden and they all had strong auras bursting from them. A few of them were even top Martial Honorables.
At that point, a stream of martial artists were presenting their invitation cards to the guards as they headed into the garden.

Su Mo did not hesitate and he handed his invitation to the guard before the garden.
“Shangguan Hao of the Red Dragon Camp?” The guard who took the invitation confirmed.
“Mm!” Su Mo nodded his head. Only Gu Tianyi, Commander Zhu Yi, Heng Fei and a few other people knew his real identity.
Of course, due to his fame, or because he did not really make an effort to conceal himself, there could be others who recognized him. However, Su Mo didn’t bother about that.
In his current circumstances, there was not much need to hide his identity.
He stuck with the name Shangguan Hao because he had used it when he arrived at the Imperial Ancestor Court previously.
“Please enter!” The guard gestured inwards, indicating for Su Mo to enter the garden.
Su Mo walked into Harmony Garden and saw a large pavement lined by jade stones that led from the front gates into the palace
Wondrous flowers bloomed beside the pavement, competing among each other to find the most pretty flower.
“It is a nice place!” Su Mo praised. However, according to what he knew, the second princess wasn’t some dainty girl who appreciated flowers.
He had heard that the Second Princess was a female but had trained in the army since a young age. She had participated in many wars and experienced much bloodshed and many hardships.
The lady’s aspirations were not any smaller than the three princes’.
Su Mo followed the jade stone pavement and quickly arrived at a large jadestone ground.
These grounds were large, with a radius of about 5,000 feet. Numerous seats lined the four corners of the grounds, surrounding it in a circle.
At that point, many guests were sitting on the seats. With a quick scan, Su Mo realized that there was no less than 300 people.
These people were all youngsters and famous geniuses.
Laughter and words of congratulations filled the air, creating a lively atmosphere.
Su Mo looked around the area and did not find a familiar face. Gu Tianyi had not arrived and hence Su Mo found a random seat and sat down.
A few people glanced at Su Mo. After all, those who had came to the banquet were all geniuses.
However, upon seeing that Su Mo was only a Rank 3 Martial Honorable, many people turned away.
Spiritual Wine and Spiritual Fruits were placed beside every seat, and after Su Mo sat down, he began to sample the wine.
“Good wine!” As he gulped down the wine, a warm wave of Spiritual Qi spread through his entire body and Su Mo exclaimed with wonder.
The effects of the Spiritual Wine generated Spiritual Qi that amounted to slightly over a dozen Medium Spiritual Crystals.
If such a good wine could be fermented for the Firmament Palace, it would be a hugely beneficial thing.
However, Su Mo was sure that the ingredients of such a good Spiritual Wine were of higher worth than the effects that they brought along.
Groups of people would occasionally arrive to the grounds and greet familiar faces.
Su Mo drank the wine and observed the geniuses who arrived at the banquet. Most of them were indeed geniuses.
There were no less than 30 individuals who were high rank Martial Honorables.
Right at that moment, another group arrived to the grounds. There were three young men who were all impressive-looking and had strong auras.
Su Mo whipped his head around and immediately narrowed his eyes. Among these three men was Zhu Ying, who had been slapped by him previously.
Zhu Ying arrived at the grounds and scanned the crowd with his eyes. He immediately spotted Su Mo and they stared fiercely at each other.
A dark look crossed Zhu Ying’s face. The news about how he had been slapped by Su Mo and had his Squadron Leader position stolen had spread through the Saint Royal City.
In just one day, he had turned into the joke of the town and he could hear gossip about him everywhere he went.

Flap Merganser: Space Duck
This story began as joke to troll some dude on reddit, but I fell in love with the premise and kind of went crazy writing without any direction or planning. Luckily for me, I spent a couple months convinced I was dying and stepped away from the project. I'm not dying by the way, at least not any more than in the traditional sense. But during that period of inner turmoil, I was able to step back and realize I wasn't too thrilled with the direction this was going. So I have relaunched this project under the name Duck Around and Find Out. Some elements will be the same, and some early chapters may be pretty close to what was in the original draft, but I wanted to get into the action with a bit more haste. That being said, I'm going to leave this up here for now so that you can see how this whole project started. So read it if you want to. Or don't. I don't really care. I'm just happy I don't actually have a terminal cancer.

Faeos Book One: The Stuff of Legends
A ragtag assemblage of adventurers, scraped together by seeming circumstance, investigate the theft of an ecologically essential artifact. In so doing, they find themselves embroiled (as adventurers so often do) in the larger machinations of a mischevious gnome, a determined mage or three, and a dire threat to their homes. Based on a homebrew Pathfinder campaign begun several years ago, and still running. Faeos is one part combat, one part character building, and one part entirely justified silliness. Blame any lead character weirdnesses on my players, whom I love. Blame everything else on me. Oh, and yes, this should also be tagged "Unreliable Narrator."
