Chapter 1859: I Have Already Been Benevolent
“How can this be?”
The men from the Imperial Ancestor Court were shocked when they saw Zhu Tong rolling on the ground, screaming.
Even the First Prince and the Third Prince were taken aback.
Zhu Tong’s cultivation level had reached the Peak of Rank 9 Martial Honored Realm and he was close to becoming a Sage-to-be.
However, the youth from Firmament Palace had defeated Zhu Tong with only a glance. That was unbelievable!
Moreover, the youth’s aura was that of a Rank 8 Martial Emperor Realm martial artist.
The people found it hard to believe that a Rank 8 Martial Emperor Realm martial artist could defeat a Rank 9 Martial Honored Realm martial artist in seconds.
The men from the Imperial Ancestor Court were surprised to find such a powerful person in Firmament Sect. He was more powerful than Su Mo!
The muscular guard was especially astounded. He had thought that the two Princes would be able to suppress Su Mo effortlessly.
However, Su Mo showed no regard for the two Princes and he had even defeated Zhu Tong in an instant.
“Go and bring the King here. If not, I won’t mind doing the same thing to you!” Su Mo said flatly to the First Prince and the Third Prince as he pointed at Zhu Tong.
Su Mo had no problem defeating Zhu Tong. After all, his mental strength was much more powerful than Zhu Tong’s.
However, Su Mo still had to study the functions of the Ancient Demon Eye. At that moment, he was displaying his own mental strength through the eye to form an attack. He was unable to unleash the true power of the Ancient Demon Eye.
“Who are you? Are you really from Firmament Sect?” The First Prince’s face turned grave. He then stared at Su Mo.
However, he was unable to find out Su Mo’s actual abilities, let alone see through his disguise.
“I am someone who you can’t afford to offend!” Su Mo replied flatly. He couldn’t be bothered with the First Prince and the Third Prince as they could not make any decision.

“Presumptuous! Firmament Sect is just a small force. We have been gracious to give you a quota of five people every month but you have become greedy. Do you think that we will dare not do anything to you?” The First Prince shouted and he was filled with killing intent.
Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!
The moment the First Prince ended his statement, the men from the Imperial Ancestor Court surrounded Su Mo and the disciples in a flash.
The moment the two Princes passed down the order, they would strike immediately and capture all the disciples from Firmament Sect.
Bai Yiner, An Nuan, and the rest of the disciples from Firmament Palace became nervous. Although Su Mo was extremely powerful, they still felt uneasy going head-on with the Imperial Ancestor Court.
“If all of you want to be like the one on the ground, I don’t mind helping you out!” Su Mo said with disdain. He showed no sign of fear as those people were nothing in his eyes.
“You…!” When the First Prince heard what Su Mo had said, he was enraged. However, he did not act rashly as he saw that Zhu Tong did not even have the power to resist Su Mo. Although the First Prince was slightly more powerful than Zhu Tong, his strength was not far from his.
Just as the two parties were ready to fight, a rich voice resounded in the sky above them.
“Bring them to Cloud Dragon Hall!”
The loud voice covered the area and when the people heard it, they were shocked. That was the voice of the King.
The First Prince took in a deep breath. Since the King had passed down the order, they had to obey him.
“Come with us!”
The First Prince said as he looked at Su Mo. After that, he turned around and walked out.
Su Mo then led the disciples from Firmament Palace and followed the men from the Imperial Ancestor Court.
He was not afraid. He had to iron out the matter with the King lest Firmament Palace got into trouble in the future.
Moreover, news about his relationship with Firmament Palace must not be leaked. After all, there were too many people around. He had to ensure that the Imperial Ancestor Court would not do anything to harm them.

He had not thought things through carefully. He should not have brought the disciples from Firmament Palace to the Imperial Ancestor Court. Or, he should not have brought so many disciples there. He should have selected more than 10 outstanding geniuses to come with him.
In any case, Su Mo was not overly concerned. The Imperial Ancestor Court would know what to do.
Soon, all of them came to Cloud Dragon Hall. The King was in his court robe and he was sitting on the main seat.
A middle-aged man in a yellow robe was sitting below him on the right, and he resembled the King.
Su Mo went into the Hall with the disciples from Firmament Palace and sized the King and the middle-aged man in a yellow robe up. He did not bow to the King and he looked indifferent.
“You have hurt our men. How shall I punish you?” The King said when he saw Su Mo and the disciples.
When Su Mo heard what the King had said, he sneered within himself. Is the King trying to inflict fear on them and put them down? However, he has used the wrong method. If the King is not wary of them, he would have dealt with them earlier and not wasted his time by getting them to come over.
“Your Majesty, we need to talk over some things. Get those who are not involved to leave!” Su Mo said in a deep voice.
“Oh?” The King squinted his eyes and sized Su Mo up. However, he was unable to make anything out of it.
After pondering for a while, the King waved his hand. He would like to see what the youth from Firmament Sect was up to.
If the youth was unable to give him a good reason for his actions, he would not let all of them off.
When the men from the Imperial Ancestor Court saw that the King had dismissed them, they looked grumpy.
It was especially so with Zhu Tong. Although he was no longer in pain, he looked pale. His Spiritual Soul had been seriously injured and he would need more than 100 years to recover.
He had wanted to see the King punish the disciples from Firmament Sect but the King had dismissed them.
The people dared not go against the King’s order and they left Cloud Dragon Hall.
However, as the Princes of the Holy Dynasty, the First Prince and the Third Prince stayed put.
When the King saw that his men had left, he looked straight into Su Mo’s eyes and said, “Young man, what do you want to talk about? Go ahead!”
“Your Majesty, is that the way you treat Firmament Sect after Su Mo helped you obtain the Ancient Dragon’s Vein?” Su Mo asked coldly. He did not reveal his identity.
“I have already been benevolent to Firmament Sect!”
The King squinted his eyes and looked at the youth who was standing in front of him. Although the youth’s cultivation level was only at Rank 8 Martial Emperor Realm, the King knew that he was not a simple person.
If it were not so, he would not have behaved in such a nonchalant manner toward him and injured Zhu Tong effortlessly.
The King had checked on Firmament Sect personally and he knew a lot about the Sect.
He knew why Su Mo had wanted Firmament Sect to go to the Imperial Ancestor Court, but the men from Firmament Sect had gone overboard. They had hindered the development of his Holy Dynasty and he had to restrict them.
Although Su Mo was the one who had obtained the Ancient Dragon’s Vein, the Dragon Vein was now a possession of his Imperial Ancestor Court. He had to do his best to protect his own interests.
“Benevolent?”
When Su Mo heard the King’s reply, he said, “From what I know, there are more than 100 Cultivation Rooms in the stone tower, but you have only given five to Firmament Sect. Is that considered benevolent?”

Among other things, a story about growth, grit, and being better than the person you were yesterday. Here's my rambling on why I'm writing Journey West 5000. Journey West 5000 is my crazy ambitious writing project to adapt a classic epic called "Journey to the West" for a global, modern audience. It's a sci-fi story disguised as fantasy, and has some road trip + monster of the week elements (as does the original Journey to the West). No system, definitely no harem, gradual power progression. Hmm, what else can I put here so potential readers know what to expect? My writing style for now is mostly "show don't tell", because I believe that readers don't need to have everything pointed out to them, and that they should be allowed to make up their own minds about characters based on the actions of those characters. I'm also trying to be less long-winded (a weakness pointed out by some friends) in order to write according to something Neil Gaiman said, which is to write as though I'm the one who has to pay for every word, not the reader. This will bring down my chapter word counts, and might drive away potential readers, but I believe there's value in learning to compress and be concise. All chapters posted here will have been edited. Constructive criticism, comments, and feedback would be very much welcome and appreciated. Please, please help point out any typos or grammatical mistakes, I'm striving to minimize those as much as possible. Above all, I hope you enjoy my story.
