Chapter 2046: Tribe Leader An Shang’s Gloom
“I need more detailed information about this man!” Elder Tianji requested in a deep voice.
An Shang glanced at An Yuan beside him. He had not seen Su Mo and naturally, An Yuan would have a greater knowledge about Su Mo than him.
Elder An Yuan explained, “This Su Mo has a cultivation rank at the peak of the Middle Martial Sage Realm but he is young. He looks about fifty to sixty years old and he possesses the Devouring Heaven Saint Soul. The martial arts he practices seem to have chaotic properties to it!”
“Chaotic?”
After hearing An Yuan’s words, Elder Tianji’s eyes opened slowly, two thoughtful expressions held in them.
He slowly relaxed and said, “One of you will have to give me thirty percent of your Blood Essence!”
“Understood!” An Shang nodded. This did not surprise them. For Elder Tianji to help them, they needed to pay the price of Blood Essence to him.
The Rank 1 Empty God Realm was known as the Lifeblood Rank where the blood of a martial artist would undergo a fundamental change from normal blood to Saint Blood.
Lifeblood of the Saint Blood was one of the godly existences.
An Shang did not react as Elder An Yuan flipped his palm to extract Lifeblood from himself. In an instant, he had retrieved thirty percent of his Lifeblood.
Thick Lifeblood was a dark red layer and it formed the size of a thumb. Yet, the aura that dissipated from it was scary and it flashed with a bright radiance.
After forcing out thirty percent of his Lifeblood, Elder An Yuan’s face turned slightly pale. Even if he was an Empty God, losing thirty percent of his Lifeblood had a huge influence to him.
“Senior Tianji, this is thirty percent of my Lifeblood!” Elder An Yuan gave his Lifeblood to Elder Tianji.
Elder Tianji waved his hand naturally and kept the Lifeblood. With a flip of his palm, a compass appeared in his hand.

This compass was as large as a bowl and it was pitch-black in color. Tiny, complicated marks were written on the compass.
Every mark seemed to connect it to heaven and earth, giving the compass a deep and mysterious vibe.
Dark Force rolled out of Elder Tianji’s palm and suddenly, the compass started to spin.
At the same time, the numerous complicated seals on the four walls of the third floor of the pagoda started to shake incredibly as the seals congregated towards the compass.
Once the many lines of marks on the compass absorbed the seals from the wall, a Spiritual Snake started to fly off from the compass at a speed that could not be matched by the naked eye.
Elder Tianji stared intently at the compass and the numerous marks that flew in the air around it.
An Shang and An Yuan both stared at the compass with huge faith in Elder Tianji’s ability to find Su Mo.
Time passed by slowly and after fifteen minutes, the compass finally stopped spinning.
The many lines of marks on the compass also returned to their original positions and everything seemed to quieten down.
“Elder Tianji, what’s the outcome?” An Shang stared at Elder Tianji in anticipation.
“You will have to head up to the fifth floor!” Elder Tianji shook his head slightly.
“The fifth floor?” An Shang and An Yuan’s eyebrows instantly jumped as a surprised look crossed their eyes.
Every floor in the pagoda presented different amounts of outcomes, the higher the floor, the better the outcome.
However, the higher one went, the price to be paid was also higher.
Godly Lifeblood was the price they had to pay for Elder Tianji’s efforts.
Yet, Lifeblood was considered very important for a martial artist. Thirty percent of Lifeblood would cause Elder Tianji’s combat strength to decrease considerably.
At the very least, Elder Tianji would need six months to recover his strength.
Shoosh!
Right at that moment, Elder Tianji’s figure disappeared from the two people’s sights.

“Tribe Leader, what should we do?” An Yuan stared at An Shang. Elder Tianji had said that they needed to head up to the fifth floor and that meant that the third floor’s predictive power was unable to find where Su Mo was.
“I didn’t expect that Su Mo would not be simple. The third floor is not even sufficient to find him!” An Shang frowned deeply. The predictive power of the third floor could even find the secrets of an Empty God, but it was unable to find Su Mo’s location.
This meant that Su Mo was extraordinary.
“Go, let’s head to the fifth floor!” An Shang sighed. Since they had come, they had to find out where Su Mo was.
With that, An Shang and An Yuan headed up to the fifth floor through the stairs in the pagoda.
The fifth floor of the pagoda was smaller than the third floor’s area by two times. However, the inscriptions on the four walls of the pagoda were not only greater in number, they were also more complicated.
Elder Tianji sat down calmly in the space of the pagoda.
An Shang and An Yuan arrived before the elder and without hesitation, An Yuan retrieved twenty percent more of his Saint Blood.
With fifty percent of his Lifeblood gone, Elder An Yuan’s face turned greatly pale. His combat strength had dropped drastically and he needed a year to recover his top strength.
“Senior Tianji, please continue!” Once the Lifeblood was given to Elder Tianji, Elxder An Yuan requested in a low voice.
Elder Tianji nodded his head as he took the Lifeblood and started the spinning of the compass.
Thick Dark Force entered the compass, allowing it to spin faster and faster. Numerous seals on the walls conjured up illusionary images that flew towards the compass.
As many seal marks flew towards the compass, a vast change started to occur on it.
An Yuan and An Shang stared with bright eyes. This time, they should be able to find Su Mo right?
Time ticked by slowly, fifteen minutes… thirty minutes. Half an hour passed by quickly.
By that point, An Yuan and An Shang were both frowning deeply. There shouldn’t be anything wrong, right? Why was so much time being taken?
Just as the two started to worry, the spinning of the compass stopped and everything resumed to its normal state.
“Senior Tianji, how is it?” An Shang desperately asked.
“I can’t find him. You two will need the seventh or the eighth floor!” Elder Tianji calmly replied.
“This….!” An Shang and An Yuan’s faces fell drastically and darkened.
Su Mo was a mere Middle Rank Martial Sage. Why could his whereabouts not be found?
Nonetheless, the two did not suspect Elder Tianji. After all, the elder had done this for so many years, the two didn’t even dare to count how long it had been.
What Elder Tianji said must be real. He would not be purposely trying to take their Lifeblood.
“Tribe Leader…!” An Yuan frowned as he looked at An Shang. He could not give out his Lifeblood anymore, his combat strength would drop drastically.
“To the seventh floor!”
An Shang waved his hand as he gritted his teeth while looking at Elder Tianji. He knew the influence that further consumption of Lifeblood would bring to Elder An Yuan.
However, they could not give up even if he had to use his Lifeblood. An Jian was far too important to the Dark Shadow Tribe.
He had not used his own Lifeblood because he needed his strength to confront Su Mo.
Yet, they had to find out where Su Mo was.
If they were unable to find where Su Mo was, a strong combat strength would also be useless.

An Unwavering Craftsman
Given the hereditary nature of classes, everyone expects Damien—the child of two high-tiered adventurers—to be granted a high-tier combat class of his own. Expectations are betrayed, however, when Damien finds himself instead saddled with a crafting class of the lowest possible tier: [Neophyte Tailor]. Left practically crippled compared to those with better classes, Damien wants to avoid becoming a pawn in the machinations of the nobility, desiring only to grind his level in peace while wondering why the usual rules of inheritance were broken. Was it his desire to excel by his own effort, rather than an unearned blessing from a god? Did the Five take offence at his opinions on the unfairness of hereditary classes? Or maybe it was something to do with the alien voice that intruded on his ceremony? A voice that offers great power, and freedom from the tyranny of the Five, but that never names its price. This story is litRPG-lite. While the class someone possesses controls most of their lives, people don't get dinged at for every level they gain, nor can they see their status without undergoing a special ritual. The MC has no romantic interest. Crafting is merely a way to game the system, and doesn't feature heavily in the story, aside from a few descriptions on how they're carrying out the system abuse. There is, on one unfortunate occasion, maths. The pace is quick. This was a participant in the Spring 2022 writathon. (i.e. it was posted as-written at high speed. I may give it another editing pass in the future.)
