Chapter 2048: Topping The Board Once Again

In the Dark Shadow Tribe territory.

An Shang and An Yuan rushed back to the tribe at their fastest possible speed.

The two spotted An Jian in an ancient building instantly.

Yet, their faces were blank as they saw An Jian in the building. How had he returned?

They had spent so much Lifeblood for nothing and they couldn’t help regretting their actions greatly.

“An Jian, how did you escape?”

As they hurried to An Jian, An Shang and An Yuan asked curiously.

“Su Mo let me off!” An Jian bowed towards the two seniors and answered in a serious voice.

“He let you off freely? What is going on?” An Shang asked, his head filled with questions.

What were Su Mo’s intentions in releasing An Jian? They didn’t understand Su Mo’s actions.

“Tribe Leader, Elder, there are a few things that I need to discuss with you!” An Jian informed the two in a deep voice.

“What is it?” Looking at An Jian’s serious face, the two asked curiously.

“Tribe Leader and Elder, please take a seat first!”

An Jian ushered the two to two animal-skin chairs in the hall.

“Tribe Leader and Elder, the time for the Dark Shadow Tribe to regain its glory has come!”

An Jian took in a deep sigh as he stared at his two seniors, his face showed his seriousness.

“Regain our glory?” An Shang and An Yuan’s eyes both shone brightly as they jumped in surprise.

With that, An Jian immediately explained the details of his encounter with Su Mo to An Shang and An Yuan.

He showed his Five Fighting Souls to the two, causing them to stare at him with widened eyes.

The three remained in the palace, carefully discussing the tribe matters for a few hours.

The King Sage Hall of Dark Region was somewhat similar to the Infinite Region King Sage Hall as they were both concealed in an Empty Space that opened at a certain time.

Su Mo took about ten days to reach the King Sage Hall.

The old, ancient-looking building stood in the Empty Space, a large void blocking the way into it.

Through the void, a strong tearing force threatened to tear Su Mo’s body.

Yet, this time, the tearing force was nothing to Su Mo.

Other martial artists were gathered in the King Sage Hall, and there were about a dozen of them.

Everyone sat down cross-legged, evidently exhausted from the battles to list their names on the King Sage Board.

However, Su Mo was surprised to see two familiar people. They were Wan Shengxiang and Lin Man from Wind-thunder Sect.

“Su Mo!”

Wan Shengxiang and Lin Man exclaimed in surprise as they saw Su Mo walk into the King Sage Hall.

The two had just departed from Sky Tyrant Tribe to arrive at King Sage Hall and they had not expected to see Su Mo there.

Su Mo ignored the two as he walked into the center of the King Sage Hall, looking at the stone pillar on it.

First place: Gongcheng Taihao!

Third place: Li Feng!

Ninth place: Li Hong!

Eighteenth place: An Jian!

Twenty-ninth place: Wan Shengxiang!

Thirty-second place: Tong Ning!

Sixty-third place: Lin Man!

These were the only names that Su Mo recognized.

While Su Mo was taken aback that Li Feng was ranked third on the King Sage Board, he wasn’t all too surprised.

Wan Shengxiang’s name had increased by a rank, while Lin Man had made it up the King Sage Board.

Su Mo glanced at Lin Man and realized that she had broken through to reach the Great Completion Rank of the Martial Sage Realm to become a King Sage.

“Gongcheng Taihao!”

Su Mo stared at Gongcheng Taihao’s name as a thoughtful look crossed his eyes. The man was ranked first.

However, Su Mo couldn’t be sure whether Gongcheng Taihao was the strongest King Sage since the ancient times of Dark Region.

If he was the strongest King Sage, the trial examiner would resemble Gongcheng Taihoa.

If he wasn’t, the trial examiner would mimic another figure.

No matter what, Su Mo wanted to head in to have a test of Gongcheng Taihao’s combat strength. At the same time, he wanted to know more about Ling Chang from the Hall Spirit.

Su Mo strode into the stone pillar confidently without a second thought.

As Wan Shengxiang and Lin Man stared after Su Mo’s figure, their faces filled with a thoughtful expression.

“Senior, what rank do you think he will reach?” Lin Man asked curiously.

Su Mo was the most talented genius that she had seen, he was much more exceptional than Gongcheng Taihao. As such, she was curious about what rank Su Mo would reach.

“Maybe the top five, maybe even the top three!” Wan Shengxiang’s face fell. He hated Su Mo and he naturally didn’t want to see Su Mo ranked highly on the board.

However, he knew clearly that Su Mo would easily make it to the top five on the board.

“The top three? That shouldn’t be possible, right?” Lin Man was slightly surprised. She had seen Su Mo’s strength personally when he had defeated An Jian without exerting himself, but it didn’t seem likely for Su Mo to reach the top three.

“Let’s just see the result!” Wan Shengxiang answered. Lin Man didn’t know that Su Mo had easily defeated Li Hong and hence she wouldn’t know how scary Su Mo was.

Su Mo stood alone in a white blurry space, waiting for the test examiner, the Hall Spirit to appear.

Buzz~

A few moments later, the space in front of him shifted slightly and a tall figure covered in a brilliant golden light walked out of the Empty Space.

This figure was about seven feet tall and he had golden, shining skin that seemed to pierce eyes.

He was a young man who looked dashing. Bright, wise eyes stared at Su Mo with the power of a king and the confidence of a lion.

“Hm?” Su Mo’s eyebrows raised at the sight of the man. At the same time that he was surprised, he was also disappointed.

He was surprised by the appearance of the man and disappointed because the man wasn’t Gongcheng Taihao.

Although he had not seen Gongcheng Taihao, he knew that Gongcheng Taihao was a Sky Tyrant Tribe member who would not look like the man in front of him.

It seemed that Gongcheng Taihao was strong enough to be ranked first on the King Sage Board, but not replace the strongest King Sage in Dark Region since ancient times.

“Alright then!” Su Mo nodded, feeling slightly helpless. He wasn’t there to list his name on the King Sage board, but since the Hall Spirit had dismissed him, he could only battle with the Hall Spirit.

Su Mo did not rush to attack but his voice deepened as he asked, “I would like to ask Senior about secrets of the ancient times. Does Senior know about them?”

The Hall Spirit was an ancient existence and he must know much about the ancient times, this much Su Mo could confirm.

The test examiner in front of Su Mo must be the Hall Spirit.

“Defeat me and you will have the qualifications to ask me questions!” The tall young man answered again.

“What rank do I have to defeat you at to ask you about everything?” Su Mo asked.

“Become the strongest King Sage since the ancient times of Dark Region and replace me to become the new test examiner!” the tall young man said.

“Alright, then fight with me with your strongest power!” Su Mo nodded heavily. Since that was the case, he could only do as the Hall Spirit requested.
