Chapter 2135: The Sudden Danger
Translator: Larbre Studio Editor: Larbre Studio
The pitch-black space was freezing and the winds were cold and icy.
Even with Su Mo’s prowess, he felt utterly cold.
The darkness was deep, lengthy and lifeless.
Su Mo walked with big strides, keeping his bearing and direction. He walked towards the still darkness.
At first he was progressing slowing, he took the chance to scrutinise his surroundings and their movements. After a while, when he had satisfied himself that there was nothing unusual, he quickened his pace.
He continued to move forward and progress, the pitch-black darkness was endless.
Su Mo journeyed for more than ten hours and yet he was still far away from the end of the tunnel.
“That’s so far!”
Su Mo sighed and a quick thought flashed through his mind. He fished out his Natal Spiritual Sword, and continued to soldier on with his sword.
Time passed quickly, day after day, Su Mo was practising and developing his skills on this journey.
Time waited for no man. A month passed, then two months, three months passed.
The road ahead had no end. Su Mo indulged in his own practice and development.
He began to get enlightenment on the Space Ultimacy. In this place, the Spatial Power was strong and hence the outcome for attaining enlightenment would be better from the external world.
What was worth mentioning was that Su Mo had travelled light on this journey to God’s Path.
He had given the Myriad Path Empty World to the Firmament Palace, because the object, useless to him, could add value to the Firmament Palace.
He had given most of the objects to the Firmament Palace. He only kept numerous Spiritual Crystals, that could last him quite some time.
Time passed swiftly as Su Mo meditated. Very soon, another three months had passed.
Finally, there was a ray of light to be seen at the far end of the road.
Su Mo opened his eyes and gazed at what was in front of him. He saw a vast water curtain.
The ripples which floated on the water curtain isolated the pitch-black place passageway from the outside world. No one could peep into what lay behind the water curtain.
In a flash, Su Mo reached the front of the water curtain. He was in no hurry to proceed, because he could sense some kind of tension within the water curtain.

This tension was rather obscure, it was as if it contained some kind of destructive power that could bring an end to heaven and earth.
Su Mo paid attention to every detail while he was checking out the water curtain. He had discovered that he had to go through the water curtain in order to continue his journey.
The water curtain acted like a screen that barred people from entering into the passage way.
“It looks like I will have to go through it!”
Su Mo thought so he activated his Chaotic Energy and his Blood Force to yield a massive and strong protective device for himself.
When all was ready, Su Mo lifted his feet and tool a stride to enter into the water curtain.
Buzz Buzz ~~
Within seconds, the water curtain began to boil, resembling the boiling of water.
There was a mysterious force within the water curtain. It started to erode Su Mo’s protective layer of Chaotic Energy and resulting in the diffusion of his Chaotic Energy.
This strangely eerie power gave the notion that it could destroy everything and generate a loss.
“What horrifying power!” Su Mo was shaken. This eerie power surpassed his Chaotic Energy.
Fortunately, he had a good foundation in his Chaotic Energy and he believed he could endure for some time.
Swoosh!
Almost immediately, Su Mo entered the water curtain and advanced at tremendous speed.
However, the water curtain seemed to be borderless. Su Mo had been flying for half an hour and he was still trapped within the water curtain.
“Oh no!”
Su Mo was taken aback. His Chaotic Energy was fast depleting and he struggled hard to defend himself.
He quickened his speed and simultaneously continued to activate his dwindling Chaotic Energy.
It was quite lucky that Su Mo still possessed some base energy. His Blood Force would be able to replace his Chaotic Energy should the latter be deleted. The former would have better defense.
Swish!
Su Mo was accelerating. He was like an arrow, penetrating the water curtain and charging forward at tremendous speed.
“With such super might from this water curtain, how did the others do that?” Su Mo was contemplating.
The mighty power for the water curtain could slay ordinary maritals of Rank 2 Empty God Realm. According to legends, martials from the Empty God Realm could enter the God’s Path.
Could it be that the water curtain’s power would present itself differently to different martial artists?

Su Mo was confused. However, he did not have the luxury to brood on this matter. He only wished to progress at his quickest possible speed.
Time passed by quickly. Su Mo’s external Chaotic Energy was draining fast.
That was because his internal Chaotic Energy was depleting.
If he had to compel the Divine Pill, he would risk damaging the Divine Pill and take a tumble in his rank of the Empty God Realm.
“The Supreme Bone!”
Su Mo gave an order and activated the Supreme Bone and all his Blood Force.
There was an explosive display of golden, glaring lights. The breakout of the Blood Force inside his body was forceful.
The Supreme Bone was the ultimate form of the Supreme Combat Body, it optimised the defence capability of the Supreme Combat Body.
Buzz Buzz ~~
Once Su Mo’s external Chaotic Energy had dissipated, the force of the water curtain hit Su Mo’s body directly.
Suddenly, his body was smouldering and making buzzing sounds. His clothes turned to ashes within seconds.
Pain!
Su Mo felt extreme pain, the kind of pain that penetrated right into the bone marrow.
That water curtain had a peculiar power. It continuously attacked his skin and inflicted undue pain to him.
“What weird power!”
Su Mo bit the bullet and continued to plod along. At this juncture, he had no way to turn back. The only way out was to move forward.
That explained why the folks who had gone to the God’s Path hadn’t returned. Predictably, all had had to suffer such painful experiences on their journeys.
Time passed quickly and the suffering almost numbed Su Mo’s body.
However, he had also discovered that his Supreme Combat Body would collapse soon. His skin started to pale and his defence power diminished.
“How could that be?” Su Mo’s face was grim. That was not the end of the water curtain.
He harnessed his thoughts quickly. His body instantly vanished. A colourful pagoda took its place.
Su Mo hid into the colourful glass pagoda. He activated the pagoda to carry on his journey hurriedly.
Once he entered the pagoda, Su Mo finally could take a break. He immediately assimilated the Spiritual Crystals to replenish his body’s power.
He knew that the colourful pagoda would not endure for long.
Just as he had expected, outside the colourful pagoda, there was smoke everywhere and the pagoda was buzzing. It was melting fast right before the eyes.
“Quickly! Quickly! Quickly!”
Su Mo was shouting as he assimilated the Spiritual Crystals as fast as he could. The colourful pagoda could afford to struggle for another short span of time. He needed to replenish a part of hs Chaotic Energy.
Spiritual Qi was rolling like the strong waves at sea. They gushed into Su Mo’s body and transformed into Chaotic Energy.
At the same time, the colourful pagoda continued to melt and soon lost its shape and became a round cylinder.
In a few moments, the colourful pagoda stopped melting and lost its power of formation thoroughly.
A gleam of light flashed. Su Mo appeared in the water curtain.
Fortunately, Su Mo was ready. Under the protection of the Chaotic Energy, he stopped assimilating and continued to fly.
He flew for a while until his Chaotic Energy was almost depleted. He continued to flow inside the water curtain.
“When does this end?”
Su Mo was grim and solemn. With the exhaustion of the Chaotic Energy, he had to call upon his Blood Force.
However, the Blood Force had its limits. It could not sustain itself for long.
If he was unable to get out of the water curtain within a short period of time, he would perish.
“Oh?”
At this instant, Su Mo’s eyes glistened with a glimmer of hope. He realised that he had almost reached the end of the water curtain.
He saw bright lights in the near distance. The end point of the water curtain was a near possibility.
“God has helped me!” Su Mo’s burden was uplifted.
This feeling was euphoric, it was as if he had seen clear blue skies after he had moved the clouds away. All of the dark clouds were all gone.
He hastened his pace and flew out of the water curtain.
Swoosh!
Between a breath, Su Mo’s body moved as fast as lighting and penetrated through layers of the water curtain and flew out completely.
“Finally, I am out! Is this God’s Path?”
Su Mo was utterly relieved. He planned to scrutinise his surroundings. At that instant, there was a sudden change. His body was alerted of danger.
On his right side, a gigantic hand, which resembled God’s claw, and possessed a full force of mighty power, struck at him ferociously.

Author's Thoughts: What is litRPG (From wikipedia) - LitRPG, short for Literary Role Playing Game, is a literary genre combining the conventions of MMORPGs with science-fiction fantasy novels.[1] LitRPG is a literary genre where games or game-like challenges form an essential part of the story. A LitRPG work simultaneously narrates the story of characters inside and outside of the game-world. At least some of the characters in a LitRPG novel therefore understand that they are playing a game: they are 'meta-aware'. So, while Tolkien's Lord of the Rings is a fantasy novel, a book about people creating avatars and interacting in a Lord of the Rings MMORPG would be a LitRPG novel. Why do I read them? You know, I am not too sure. I love MMOs. I played them, quit them, joined up and repeated the cycle. They are fun! They are a massive waste of time but so are most games. Do I want to read about someone else playing them? Sort of?The advent of VR and the possibility of VR someday becoming so immersive that you can't tell them from reality sets the imagination on fire. What if this could be life? But most stories fall short. At the end of the day the protagonist hangs up his VR helmet and goes to have dinner with his mom and dad or other family and it becomes meaningless. It's like the story that ends because the main character woke up and nothing you read matters. There have been some books that explore the concept of the intersection of reality and total immersion VR. Enders Game is a classic. There were a few others that escape me but they exist, however, the cross between the game and reality is weak.So what if the game was real? The technology needed for total immersion VR is so advanced that by the time we reach that goal technology should have naturally evolved to include several items. You must have direct neural input. You simply can't have a total immersion (all senses and perfect presence) experience without this basic prerequisite. If you have direct neural access, you can probably do neat things like feed knowledge and skills directly to that person. You can undoubtedly do many horrible things as well. Muscles are controlled by the brain. If you control the brain why would you let the body just sit there and rot? A person that sits unmoving for 24 hours a day will have their body whither away just like a coma patient. However, if you control the brain you could control the muscles. On a basic level, this would be isometric impulses, working muscle group against muscle group to avoid atrophy. Taken to its logical conclusion you would be able to gain muscle mass and program muscle memory. The flip side is that you could remote control their body... but let's not go there. So what would people do if it were real? Well, they would probably limit and regulate it since the drawbacks are very obvious. Even if you look at the basic aspects of this you can see some negative possibilities. Look at the Sword Art Online anime. Personally, I think they missed the boat by putting a bomb in the VR helmet. Do you really need a bomb when you have direct access to the brain? So what kind of events would you need to have a situation where the obvious drawbacks haven't been explored? Maybe a society where the advancement of technology has so far outstripped the explorations of its applications that ignorance was truly bliss? Okay, so I had to put in an alien invasion to kickstart the premise, but that was just one of the possibilities.
