The Abandoned Hunter Chapter 73

"Did the system betray me at the most crucial time? The only thing I can see is its name and it's rank..."
Jay could only frown right now. It seems all his luck had run out. The only thing he could do right now is regret.
"Damn, I should have killed those spiders and gained some more levels..."
Jay regretted the fact that he had left those spiders live because of laci of time.
"What's the use of Thinking now....?", he grit his teeth and kept on staring at the giant bat that was hanging upside down.
He was indeed scared of the bat not only because of its size, but also due to the eight heads that were protruded from its body.
It was really weird too because it didn't do anything and just kept hanging for sometime.
"Is something wrong with it?", Jay thought about approaching it and killing it if he could.
But the moment he moved one step closer to it, the bat also moved its body slightly.
It seemed that the bat was super sensitive to aura and sound but for some reason there was some green colour slimy thing dropping from it.
Jay looked at it and wondered about it.
"What could this be? A poison?"
It could have been poison like he had seen earlier but it wasn't melting the rocks of the floor. It was indeed a bit different.
He decided to touch it using the wooden bat that was lying just beside him. He slowly picked it with the help of the tool and stared at it.
"Is this some sort of poison or just an insignificant green liquid?"
He was about to throw the wooden bat when suddenly a message popped up.
'DING DONG'
__________
[ANSWER]
- Blood.
__________
"Huh? Blood? What is the system saying?"
He then carefully looked at the slimy thing that was dropping from the bats body at a certain intervals and immediately understood after hearing the system's answer.
"Is it the bat's blood?"
'DING DONG'
__________
[ANSWER]
- Affirmative.
__________
"Then, does that mean that the bat is wounded or something?", he asked himself and then glanced at the bat again.
"BIRD'S VIEW!", he said it in this mind and immediately the skill was activated.
He could now clearly look at every part of the bat's body and thus tried to detect the wounded part.
"Eh? Seriously?"
He was shocked when he looked at the bat having small tiny ears to detect sound which was quite different from normal bats. The green slimy thing seemed to be coming from the ears.
"Perhaps, did it's ear drums rupture?"
Jay immediately concluded that the bat's ears were not working properly and that might have been the reason why the bat couldn't sense any movements that had been happening.
Also it looked as if it had lost a large amount of energy due to constantly camouflaging and trying to hide its presence.
"Haha, this might be my opportunity to kill it...."
He decided that he would kill it and wanted to do it immediately since he has less than 3 minutes left according to the timer.
And not only that, he had to also exit the dungeon after clearing it which seemed almost impossible for him bit for some reason his confidence increased slightly and he thought of trying at least once.
He ran with all his light and used the skill [DASH] and rushed towards the eight headed bat.
He immediately pulled out the blood sword which he had been using till now and aimed at the bats heads.
'SLASH SLASH'
He kept on slashing each and every head as fast as he could and finally cut all the visible heads that were seen.
Then he started to fall vertically.
'BAM'
He hit the floor hard.
"Ouch! That hurt man... but I have finally killed the eight headed bat!!!"
He looked proud as he killed such a terrifying thing in an instant.
He himself couldn't believe that it would be so easy to harvest so many levels and kill so many strong monsters this easily.
"Haha, this dungeon should be called LEVEL HARVESTING DUNGEON! Haha!"
He laughed loudly when suddenly he was hit by some force.
"Eh?"
Even before he realized anything, he was hit by a large beam of fire which was slowly burning his back.
"Oh shit fuck!!! Damn!!!"
'DING DONG'
__________
[WARNING]
The hosts HP has drastically decreased.
HP below 5%.
- ACTIVATING TIME ZONE EXCHANGE!
Exchange proceeding•••
EXCHANGE COMPLETE!
__________
"Huh... time zone exchange?"
'DING DONG'
__________
- The flow of time of the surrounding has been altered.
- The time has slowed down by 10 times.
__________
"What's happening?"
Jay wasn't able to understand what the system was doing. Everything was happening too suddenly.
His health was already low and his stamina was almost null right now so he couldn't think straight.

On top of that he hadn't even realized yet as to how did he get hurt so suddenly which was without any warning.
He immediately turned back to take a look at what had happened.
"Huh? You...? Why?"
One of the officials who was present earlier announcing about the dungeon was standing in front of him. He was the one who lied them about the dungeon's difficulty and he was the one who was primarily responsible of so many deaths and casualties.
"Look at that will you!!? You literally slayer the bat! It's better if you die, I will take all the fame!"
"What...?"
Jay snapped out and became completely angry because of his words.
"You will kill me and say that you were the one to slay it?"
"Haha! Yes of course!"
Jay didn't care about gaining fame but what he couldn't bear was that someone so greedy was present in the association.
"I'm fine with that but you must answer two of my questions..."
Whole he was saying this, he asked the system a question too in his mind.
"You said that everything has become ten times slower... then why is he able to talk with me freely?"
'DING DONG'
__________
[ANSWER]
- The Time change doesn't affect the blessed/gifted ones.
__________
"Huh?"
He thought about inquiring it immediately but he could see the man in front of him getting impatient to kill jay.
"And What are those questions? It's not like I would have answered them but considering it as your last wish... I will answer them for you!"
"The first question... how did you enter this dungeon even after the gate was closed?"
"..."
"Pffttt... Hahahaha! Isn't that obvious you fool? I entered the same way as you did!"
Jay didn't want to think of this as a possibility but he was forced to imagine it right away.
"Don't tell me that you can..."
"Hahaha! That's correct! I can copy the skills of anyone who is low ranked than me!"
"Thought so..."
Jay realised that the man had copied his [STEALTH] skill and entered the dungeon right away as Jay did. But instead of helping him, he had been hiding behind his back.
"That was why I couldn't sense you..."
The [STEALTH] skill was a sort of assassination skill which blocked most of the 'SEARCH' skills of other skills since it completely erased the presence of the user.
"Fine... now the second question... why did you lie them about the level of the dungeon?"
The man became serious for a second. He said with a serious tone, "Our Country is just one of those many countries which have many dungeons spawning but have very few good hunters. I just wanted them to hunt and get stronger so that we wouldn't rely on others..."
"But... they all died because of this stupidity... of only you had told them the truth then..."
"Hahahahaha! Silly brat! Why would I tell them the truth? They are just low fleas who were destined to die today! And whatever I said previously was a joke! Hahaha! I actullu did this was amusement!"
The man revealed everything. He had a twisted personality. He was having fun seeing everyone due right in front of his eyes. On top of that he was giving out an unusual smile that was making Jay feel uncomfortable.
But more than the uncomfortable feeling that Jay was feeling, he was angered by what he was blabbering.
He had totally forgotten about the timer or the dungeon. He even forgot about the mission.
He was completely engulfed by rage.
"And now it's your turn!", the moment the man told this, Jay forgot every rationality he had.
'DING DONG'
__________
[WARNING]
- Host's HP is below 5%
- The rage has increased drasitically.
- ACTIVATING DRAGON'S AURA.
__________
Then immediately after this message, another notification popped up.
'DING DONG'
__________
- Attack power increased by 5%
- Defence is reduced by 4%
- Stamina is increased by 20%
- All stats except defence is increased by additional 4 points.
__________
"Anyway, come here baby, I'm gonna kill you and throw you in front of your mama! Hahaha!"
Suddenly the surrounding area was pressurised and a large amount of killing intent was being liberated.
"Huh? Wha.."
Even before the man could realise what was happening, his head split apart from his body and was sent flying. He himself say his body with his own eyes.
"What happened to—"
And then there was a huge gush of blood that came out like a fountain from his cut neck.
"This is the punishment of anyone who thinks low of any hunter's life!"

Delve
Summary – Level 1: Delve is an isekai litrpg that follows an average guy who just happened to wake up in a forest one day. He wasn’t summoned to defeat the demon lord or to save the world or anything like that, at least as far as he can tell. The only creature there to greet him was a regular old squirrel. Soon enough, he meets other people, only to discover that he can’t speak the language, and that not everybody immediately trusts random pajama-wearing strangers they met in the middle of the wilderness. Things generally go downhill from there, at least until the blue boxes start appearing. Delve is a story about finding your way in a new, strange, and dangerous world. It’s about avoiding death, figuring out what the heck is going on, and trying to make some friends along the way. It’s not about getting home, so much as finding a new one. Did I mention that there will be math? Summary – Level 2: Okay, but what are you in for, really? Well, this story is supposed to be realistic, or at least, as realistic as a fantasy litrpg can be. The main character doesn’t instantly become an all-powerful god and murder-hobo his way across the universe. Delve is, at its heart, a progression fantasy, but that progression is meant to feel earned. The numbers in this story actually mean something. Everything is calculated, and if you find a rounding error, I expect you to tell me about it. That said, if math isn’t your cup of tea, there is plenty more that the story has to offer. Characters are meant to feel real, and progression isn’t only about personal power; it’s also about allies, connections, and above all, knowledge. Figuring out how the system works is a significant theme. ... What, you want more details? Okay, fine, but this is going to get a bit spoiler-y. Are you sure? Yes! Really sure? I mean, this summary is practically half as long as the first chap– Now! Okay, okay! The main character becomes a magic user, but he takes a route that is not very popular in adventurer culture, namely that of a support. There is a full magic system with various spells, skills, and abilities, but our MC decides that aura magic is the way to go, and that the only stat worth investing in is mana regeneration. Most people at the Adventurer’s Guild think that this makes him a bit of a dumbass, but he’s playing the long game. We’ll see how that works out for him, won’t we? Because of his build, the MC levels up fast, at least compared to normal people. There are no cheats, though, and he is limited in other ways. There are some clear and pretty obvious downsides to his build. That’s what makes it fun, no? Morals? Our MC has them. Again, we’ll see how that works out for him. Realism, remember? Would you be okay with killing someone and looting their body? I sure hope not. POV? The focus is on the main character, but there will be occasional varying perspectives from people around him, or involved in the events related to the main plot. It isn’t going to jump all over the place. Tech is standard medieval stasis. No smartphones, but the MC does have a technical background. Computers and their programming might be involved. There might even be a bit of uplifting down the road, who knows? Anyway, it isn’t the focus. He isn’t going to invent the gun in chapter 1 and change the face of warfare. Romance is not a major focus. Friendships are more the name of the game, though there will be some characters in romantic relationships. There is exploration, though not as much of the geographical nature as you might expect. It is more about exploration of the system and the culture. The pace is slow and detailed, sometimes verging on slice-of-life. The action is meant to be realistic and grounded in the numbers, and it is intended to have meaning beyond simply punching things until they stop moving. The general tone of the story is grey, and some parts can get quite dark. People die. Sometimes, people with names, but not anywhere near GoT level. There is plenty of light, too, though, to balance the darkness. The world is dangerous, but overcoming that danger is why we’re all here, isn’t it? Anyway, if you’ve made it this far through the summary, you clearly like words. I hope you enjoy the story! Cover by Miha Brumec Summary Updated: 2020-06-14
