The Abandoned Hunter Chapter 111

All of them wanted to run away immediately after hearing him but unfortunately their legs had turned into stone because of which they couldn't possibly move.
It was as if they would die any moment since the pace at which the fire was approaching them was slowly increasing.
"Uhhh!!!", the Vice leader couldn't think of anything.
He immediately lifted 3 girls and at the same time asked Mia to pull one of them.
Due to both of their synchrony they were somehow able to evacuate 4 of them successfully to a bit far Area.
The Vice leader rushed back immediately in order to rescue others and Mia too rushed at the same time.
Totally 11 hunters were present including the Vice leader out of which 4 were safely placed a bit far away behind a rock here the fire wouldn't be able to reach out since it would block it.
Now totally 7 more members were to be saved and excluding the Vice leader and Mia, there were 5 more.
Both of them somehow rushed near them and did the same as earlier and somehow managed to carry 4 more but unfortunately one of them was left still.
"I have to...", while saying this the Vice leader ran in order to save a girl who was left out but unfortunately the fire wall started speeding up and burned her alive.
"Aaahhhhhhhhhhh noooooo!!!", she screamed which was quite loud upon hearing which the Vice leader paused and ran in order to hide behind the rock.
Fortunately whatever they predicted happened and the fire didn't reach the place. It seemed as if this was thanks to the precognition technique of the girl from earlier who spotted out the area.
But unfortunately not all could survive yet again. It seemed as if they were being killed no matter what they were doing.
'This is weird... no matter how much I neglect it, i am unable to prevent from thinking that... one by one all of us are getting killed...', he thought.
"I guess for some reason, one of the member is being killed at each instant...", Mia said.
She observed perfectly and catched up to what the Vice leader was thinking.
Others too started to think about it and noticed that only one person at a time was being killed from the moment they entered here.
Suddenly they started shivering from fear but by doing that it wouldn't solve anything.

"Listen to me... We don't know what's happening but that doesn't mean that we will give up on living."
What the Vice leader said was exactly correct. It raised their motivation a bit and their shivering and trembling also stopped.
'Good, they calmed down... but, it's strange, it's as if the dungeon is pushing us to enter the room...', was what the Vice leader thought.
The safety area that was supposedly the starting area was just like a cave which was completely dark but thanks to thenligjy from the Room ahead, it was somewhat visible.
Green light was continuously flashing from the next room which was actually the area where their misfortune had started.
Their members had started to die from that zone and starting from that moment till now one or the either members are being killed.
'This is too troublesome...', he thought when suddenly the ground started to shake.
"W-what's happening!!!?", all of them started to scream since it seemed like earthquake.
"An earthquake!!!", some of them shouted.
'Earthquake? How can an earthquake occur in a dungeon that is literally flying!!?', he asked himself in his mind.
"This is weird...", all of their words were being jumbled.
Nothing was clearly visible to them because of the hu he vibrations and tremor.
"Could it be...", the Vice leader looked at the area only to find that the rocks from the above were wearing which could fall at anytime.
"Damn!!! We need to run!!!", he and the girl with precognition ability said at the same time.
He picked up 3 girls are usual and Mia somehow managed to pull another girl.
They ran as fast as they could and forcibly entered the next area where they placed them.
Mia was still in the process of dragging one of the girls but Vice leader couldn't possibly wait until she reached the area.
He rushed to save the remaining and picked up 3 more out of which one was a boy and 2 were girls.
He immediately rushed back to the next area and found that Mia successfully reached that place too.
Now excluding Mia and the Vice leader, 7 of them out of which 6 were brought by Vice leader and 1 by Mia were safe. Only one remained who was screaming becUse she was earlier told that one person who ended up being last died no matter what.
The girl was shouting and was dragging herself against the ground and was literally crawling with the best of her abilities but unfortunately the ceiling collapsed and all the heavy rocks fell on her.

"Oh no!", all of them turned their heads to the opposite side of the scene.
The Vice leader who had just kept one of his leg towards the area of collapse, retreated immediately as it was futile to go there anymore.
All he could do was just sigh as they had lost one more of their members.
The fear in all of them grew again, in total there were 9 members now.
2 boys out of which one was the Vice leader and the other was the cameraman. And remaining 7 were all girls including Mia.
All of them were tensed including the Vice leader since they had entered the place from where it all started.
They had no idea as what to do but they couldn't possibly sit in the same area as a new trap or somethingbkight get triggered. They were just thinking about what to do when suddenly the girl with precognition ability said, "We need to move towards that area..."
She pointed her finger and asked to enter the huge area. She was specifically talking about the circle that was placed in the middle which had some weird inscriptions on it.
"Huh? Are you crazy? That's where many of our members died when they went to check those writings!", shouted the camera man.
What he said was indeed true and all of them had seen their heads or some other body parts flying as if they were being slashed but for some reason the area seemed quite clean.
There wasn't even a bit of blood stain or any other mark.
"A-are you sure?"
Even the Vice leader who believed in her future seeing ability asked this since he himself was hesitant to go near that area.
It was not as if he was doubting her ability, what he wanted to know was if that was indeed the right place to go.
The girl didn't have some ability that could see the entire future, all it could do was have a glimpse of what would happen in the future. That was indeed handy since knowing something is better rather than nothing.
But sometimes the opposite logic has to be applied since without knowing entirely about something, one shouldn't take risks as it usually ends with a failure.
However right now they didn't have the time to think about it. It was in their best interests to take actions carefully and with haste at the same time and right now other than believing her precognition, they couldn't rely on anything else.
The girl nodded her head and said, "We will find nine spaces there where we all have to stand!"
They couldn't understand what she meant by that but after hearing that they immediately started moving as no one wanted to die by getting left behind.
It was all on the Vice leader, Roku, and Mia who were supposedly carrying all of them.
The action similar to before was taken and they were carried like before and soon all of them reached near the circle that was placed there.
"This...", Roku was shocked the moment he saw the circle which had some weird animal like images along with some scriblings in some ancient language.
They all were separated by a thin line which was hardly visible upon seeing which the girl, Shona, asked them to occupy one slab each.
The spaces were mentioned as slab by her for some reason.
The Vice leader picked each of them one by one and started placing them in such a way that they were able to occupy a slab Successfully.
He had successfully placed all of them and now only 2 slabs were left that were to be occupied.
Shona called both of them to come immediately which they did and stood there too and occupied it simultaneously.
"Now what...?", the Vice leader asked but for that she had no answer as this was as far as she had seen.
"I...", she was about to say that she didn't know but then suddenly something happened that she didn't even get a chance to tell.
All of them disappeared immediately from the place as if they were teleported. It was something that was completely unpredicted and that couldn't even be told with the excellent instincts of the Vice leader Roku.
Now no one knew as to what would happen but it seemed as if this was all a set up since the number of slabs and the number of people that survived were exactly NINE!
Nothing other than some instruments were left at that place and now the hall was quite empty yet again.
MEANWHILE...

Shaman
*** Let's get this clear now: the MC is a trans woman. This is not a gender-bender. It's set in a fantasy world but the exploration of identity and gender is reality-based. Not a joke, not a kinky turn-on. If this is a problem for you, please just act like an adult and look elsewhere for something to read. *** Rating breakdown, since that should be public info: 2 x 5*, 1 x 4.5*, 1 x 3*, no reasons offered. A human shaman and healer returns from several years with the mysterious shyani, accompanied by her shapeshifting puma best friend. A valued friend, from her previous identity as a male student physician, has acquired an old shyani book, and extremists will not tolerate its presence in human hands. But back in human lands, the question arises: which world does she belong in? Generations ago, human explorers found a continent inhabited by an utterly alien culture of shapeshifting weyres and the shyani, humanoids who prefer dusk and dawn. A truce of sorts was eventually reached: humans claimed the rich lowlands, and the shyani and weyres retain the highlands. Along the border, practicality often rules, but on either side, old grudges linger in some hearts. As a student physician, Corin tried to take his own life, unable to bear the countless tiny wounds inflicted over twenty-one years of lying to himself in order to be, or pretend to be, socially acceptable. At the last improbable instant, intervention came, in the form of a spirit fox, who led him away from the existence he’d known in the lowlands and into the highlands. There, a puma weyre rescued him, and a shyani shaman helped him find his true self and offered a rebirth, a life with no more lies, and an important role to fill. Now a shaman and healer in her own right, Vixen who was once Corin learns that the one human who mattered to her in her previous life, then a fellow University student, has come into possession of an old shyani book, and the more fanatical shyani and weyres will stop at nothing to reclaim it and punish Jared. Even though it means going back into the lowlands and facing Jared as a woman, she can’t bear to just look the other way. This should be a short visit, just long enough to see the book into the proper hands and make sure Jared will not be killed for having it, and then she can return to the shyani community that has accepted her as their shaman. And, of course, her feline best friend Dayr insists on coming with her. But Jared is now a Lord, with considerable wealth and power, and his response to her presence isn’t one she expected. After years living with the shyani, she sees everything around her from a new perspective, and that makes it difficult to keep to the plan of making as few waves as possible. As an honoured guest in a highborn house, with only Jared aware that she has ever been anyone else, Vixen finds herself questioning where she belongs: with Dayr and the shyani, who accept her gender without question but have to make allowances for her differences, or with humans, in the culture she grew up in even though her past would mean a major scandal? *** Trigger warning: there are scenes of Vixen's previous life, which include some difficult moments and culminate in an (obviously unsuccessful) attempt at suicide before she finds her true self and a better life. Please be careful! This is the ONLY reason for the "Traumatising Content" tag.*** Complete stand-alone novel, 96K words. Also available on Scribble Hub and as a free ebook.
