The Abandoned Hunter Chapter 156

Res was completely right. He knew that his attacks were too strong for the dungeon to resist it.
Moreover, it would be understandable that he would use the attack if it was an isolated area, but right now they were within some walls and that too right above a city.
So it was highly dangerous for him to go ahead and use strong fire attacks or other things.
Jay too realized that after he denied, but right now he couldn't think of anything else that could actually stop the giant statue from moving.
Jay did have a lot of power dwelling with him, but after he saw that there was almost no effect on the statue even after he used one of his best spells, he understood that the statue was quite durable.
"Damn, I guess it would be better if I use that...", he almost immediately waved his hand as if he was summoning something.
'Woosh'
All of a sudden he acquired the blood sword which he had used a while ago as a stepping stone.
"Yes... with this...", he expected that he could inflict at least some damage to the statue with the help of the blood sword, which was without a doubt a strong artifact.
'Ding'
[ You have equipped the Blood Sword ]
A message appeared which was probably expected. He neglected it and almost immediately rushed towards the statue.
[ You have used the skill Accel ]
[ Your speed has increased by 20% ]
He soon appeared in front of the statue which was trying to get back on it's feet.
"Hyaaa!", he swung the sword with all his might expecting that the barrier that was erected by the statue would get shattered.
'Bam'
There was indeed a loud noise heard right after which Jay thought that the barrier had almost broken but then when he glanced at the barrier, he was completely awed.
"Are you kidding me...?", he asked himself because he failed to believe what had actually happened.
The barrier didn't even have a single scratch on it. It seemed as if the attack which Jay just did was totally wasted.
Jay's eyes were wide opened as he saw the statue extending the staff towards Jay.
Right after that the Statue ended up casting or chanting a spell when the staff shined.

Another large ball of fire appeared which was similar to the fire attacks that were being launched towards Jay earlier.
"I was right, so you were the one that had been attacking me since earlier...", he said with a low voice.
Regardless, right now he was in a dire situation in which he had to escape no matter what because being attacked in such a short range wasn't good by any means.
'I need to avoid this...', he thought right after which he disappeared from the area and appeared right near Res.
It seemed as if he had used the skill 'Teleportation' which appeared as a system text.
[ You have used the skill Teleportation ]
Res was surprised to see Jay appear out of nowhere but then again he considered that he might have used the same skill as earlier when he had become invisible.
The attack was launched and it eventually hit the ceiling which formed a huge crater.
Small bricks or stones did fall from the ceiling, but that was quite far from Res and Jay.
Also, even if it had fallen right where they were standing, it was piece of cake for them to dodge all those.
"Hmm, if not this then...", it seemed like Jay was thinking to use something else to deal with the statue.
Since he said it out loudly, Res heard it and thus thought that he would wait and see as to how Jay will take care of this statue.
He wanted to see his powers and limits. Furthermore, he just wanted to see how far he had progressed from the time since Dun Young had first mentioned about him.
"Come out...", he said with a low voice.
All of a sudden the sword disappeared instead of which a bow appeared.
The difference in energy between the weapons was clearly felt by Res.
"That weapon... it must be at least an S rank one...", Res said.
But little did he know that the weapon was far from being just an S ranked.
It was much more stronger than that and it's level was high too.
'Ding'
[ You have equipped the Bahamut Slayer ]
[ Due to the meeting of level requirement, the host is able to view some of the details of the Bow ]

[ Would you like to see it? ]

Jay didn't waste even a second to think and right away clicked on 'Y'.
Immediately after that the system displayed the details about the bow.

Cool down timer: 00:23:59:59 [23 hours 59 minutes 59 seconds]
--
The moment Jay took a look at the description, he was literally stunned.
It was as if he was watching a dream for a brief second because he himself couldn't explain how lucky he was to get such an outstanding weapon.
He was completely mesmerized and was about to shout in joy when all of a sudden he felt a sudden vibration of the ground and then came back to his senses.
"Huh...?", he took a look at the statue which was attacking once again but then Res was somehow managing to defend against it.
Jay rushed towards Res who was standing further away from him.
Res noticed Jay and almost immediately said, "Wait Jay, don't do anything... we have to carefully decide what we have to..."
"Don't worry Res Sir, we can take care of it in a single attack...", Jay said even before Res could complete what he had to say.
He looked at the confident expression which Jay had but then again he asked, "What are you planning to do...?"
"..."
He looked at the confident expression which Jay had but then again he asked, "What are you planning to do...?"
Jay didn't say anything and just smirked as if he was confident enough to defeat the statue in a mere single attack.
'I guess... I can let him try...', Res thought and pulled himself back.
The statue was continuously using the fire attacks and till now that was the only thing it had used.
Res was also thinking about why it was doing that but since the statue was distracting him again and again, he thought that it was good to take some time out since Jay could keep the statue a bit busy.
Res backed off and started to think about it right away.
Though that didn't mean that he wasn't paying attention to what Jay was doing.
He knew for sure that Jay was going to do something with the help of the bow because only after it's appearance, his total attitude changed.
'That bow... why does it feel as if I have seen it somewhere...', was what Res thought but more than that he just observed what Jay did.
Jay lifted the bow and aimed it at the statue's head.
"Well, I guess that was all the time that you could enjoy...", he said with a smile.
The statue all of a sudden turned it's head towards Jay as if it too could feel the massive energy that was being liberated from the Bow.
Suddenly a wave of killing intent emerged which wasn't to be underestimated.
It gave off quite a pressure. The entire area could collapse if this continued so it was necessary to end this quickly since the pressure was from no one other than Jay.
Jay then pulled the string of the bow right after which a red colored arrow appeared.
It seemed as if the arrow was formed due to mana but more than that, it was having a large amount of destructive power.
'One shot...'
"..."
'If I'm not wrong... I have only one shot...', he thought in his mind.
He wasn't sure if that was true earlier, but right now he had read the system message and had already seen the cool down timer which was a whole day!
That was why he was a bit nervous because he didn't want to miss the attack since that was the only thing he could rely on right now.
[ Would you choose a skill to use from the list? ]
- Y/N
[ Skills List ]

The Curio Shoppe
Kellan Klein is an ordinary college student with an average, if traumatic and painful past. Everyone grows up grappling with depression and anxiety that seem to be genetic in a house with parents that, while loving, fight all the time and have weird ideas about what kids should and shouldn't do, right? Everyone deals with bullying, racism, judgement on their romantic inclinations and their family's economic status and just general shittiness, right? All of Kellan's friends sure did, and for all of them, entertaiment media were a welcome escape from their painful, dreary lives. After all, who wouldn't want to sail the seas with Monkey D. Luffy and the Strawhats, or help Meng Hao con increasingly powerful and influential people, or join Cecil Harvey and his friends on their weird journey to save the world, or make friends with Peter Parker while pretending to not know he was everyone's favorite wall-crawling superhero? Kellan certainly wanted to, and while he pursued college to seek out a career he saw himself enjoying, something felt inexplicably empty about his life. So when a decidely sinister force kidnaps him and the prettiest man he's ever seen saves his life and offers him his wildest dreams, Kellan becomes the shopkeeper of a mysterious, dimension hopping shop, complete with a system that helps him acquire items. abilities, materials, and other cool shit to stock it with, as well as some other neat perks. Will Kellan become a boring overpowered MC, like the kind from web fiction that he reads to sate his boredom? Will he keep his generally kind, sweet nature despite the shit he's gone through and will go through, or will he inexplicably become a scary, violent, irrational arrogant douchebag? Will he use his newfound abilities to explore the multiverse and improve the lives of himself and others, or will he become his own antithesis, a purely mercantile jerk obsessed with money and profit, with no concern for anything that doesn't help or hurt his business? Find out in The Curio Shoppe! Author's note: Please suggest possible setting he could visit in the comments. I'll gather ones i'm familiar with, and at the end of every arc, a poll will be held to decide the next location he visits. There will be polls for other purposes, and I might not always go with the poll winner if I feel one of the other options is more fun to read/write about. I will not use the settings of other RRL writers without their permission.Do not ask for that, unless the author in question gives permission. Most settings he visits will be slightly AU in some way or another, but please remind me if I drift too far from canon unintentionally or characterize a character wrongly. This work will eventually fit all tags I selected once he visits universes suited to those tags, so don't ask when or where a given tag is coming. I do not own the cover art, it belongs to Nicholas Belanger Thiel, and I will stop using it if he asks me to. Kellan doesn't look like the old man on the cover, though once he acquires a disguise-type ability he may occasionally use that appearance. The tapir, however, will be a thing, as despite looking like a failed attempt at an elephant, tapirs are cool and this dragon finds them to be kinda cute. The art, along with more of Nicholas's pieces, can be found at https://www.artstation.com/artwork/51bXz

Time has now passed, and the Humans have managed to settle themselves into mediocrity. But this is not enough.Note: I don't plan on including sexual content. The MC won't have an end game goal right from the start. Feedback is welcomed. The MC is a Tamer.
