Chapter 76: We’ve Got News (3)

The young girl in the mirror was dressed in brown slim-fit sportswear. Her long black hair fell on her chest, and she wore a tophat that nearly covered half of her face.

After Zhao Youlin confirmed that nobody would recognize her without careful observation, she felt satisfied as she adjusted the tophat on her head. Then, she turned around and cast a glance at the bright sky outside the window.

She gently breathed a sigh of relief before she got on the bed and looked at Joy who was sleeping soundly. She smiled faintly and reached out to pinch Joy’s cheek.

The little boy who was sleeping felt unhappy about being pinched. He swung his little hand to resist the external disturbance and turned around with his fat butt facing Zhao Youlin.

Zhao Youlin laughed in amusement at her son’s response, and she patted Joy’s butt. While Joy chuckled and babbled in a daze, she went close to his ear, smiled, and said, “Joy, Mommy is going out today. Stay at home obediently and don’t go anywhere. Mommy’s put the milk and bread by your bed. If you get hungry, remember to eat it. I’ll be back very soon.”

Joy had not completely woken up yet. He nodded in a daze before he got under the blanket like a little hamster and did not come out.

Zhao Youlin smiled helplessly and kissed Joy’s round cheek. She then put the sleeping Sparta on the bed to keep Joy company before she got off the bed and left.

Zhao Youlin had an appointment with the detective agency at 7.00 am in a low-key and simple cafe. It was the only cafe nearby that was open in the early morning.

Zhao Youlin had initially thought that she was very early. But, after she got there, she realized that somebody had reached earlier than her because there was a man sitting in the seat that they had booked. The man had his head lowered, and he was looking at something.

Zhao Youlin narrowed her eyes, and she did not stop moving. She walked toward the man and stopped by the coffee table.

The man who initially lowered his head suddenly felt a dark shadow covered him, so he finally raised his head from a stack of documents.

When he raised his head, it also made Zhao Youlin briefly see the man’s appearance. The man was dressed in an olive casual trench coat, and his black short hair gently fell by his cheeks. His skin looked a little pale like he was sick because he did not really go out under the sun.

Even if the big sunglasses covered nearly one-third of his face, Zhao Youlin could still see that this man looked very handsome and charming.

The man was also obviously stunned when he saw Zhao Youlin. Astonishment unexpectedly crossed his gentle face.

“Can I sit here?” Zhao Youlin was the first to break the silence between them.

Qin Huai immediately restrained his expression before he smiled faintly, nodded, and said, “Please take your seat.”

Zhao Youlin decently sat across Qin Huai. She was not pretentious as she directly opened it up. “Were you the person who called me last night? Are you Mr. Qin?”

Qin Huai nodded, but he did not immediately talk about the important matter with Zhao Youlin. He smiled faintly as he asked, “What would you like to drink, Ms. Zhao?”

Zhao Youlin cast a meaningful glance at the man. “I’ll need a cup of Long Black.”

A light quickly crossed Qin Huai’s eyes, and it disappeared after a short while. He nodded before he said to a waiter who was not far away, “Two cups of Long Black please.”

At this time, there were not many customers in the cafe. So, the waiter walked over with two cups of hot freshly brewed coffee in a minute.

Zhao Youlin looked up at the milk and sugar beside the coffee, but she did not plan to add them into her beverage. She just picked up the cup of Long Black with a strong aroma and took a sip.

However, she did not realize that her action had made the man’s eyes shine with surprise again.
