Fierce Ex-wife: President, Please Be Careful Chapter 123

Mu Tingfeng watched the pleasant scene going on in the passenger seat, as if no one could ever interrupt the two in their little bubble. He suddenly felt a little melancholic, feeling that he was supposed to be in that harmonious picture, but now… he was out of it.
Mu Tingfeng frowned at this unexpected thought. Why would he suddenly have this kind of thought?
He had always despised this woman, he did not even anticipate this child and was unhappy when he was born, but now...
Mu Tingfeng's expression turned dark, and it again turned the atmosphere in the car even drearier.
This time, Zhao Youlin really felt the dreariness, she made a sarcastic quip in her heart. Why did this man have such extreme mood swings? Why was he suddenly angry again?
Zhao Youlin subconsciously tightened her hold on Joy, fending off the dreary air.
She was speechless but at the same time, she made a decision, a resolution to always go the other way if she saw this man. She was not scared that he would suddenly fly off his handle, but she still feared for her child's safety.
At that moment, Mu Tingfeng was sulking on his own, completely clueless that he just accidentally made a mistake.
Xia Zhetao bitterly glanced at the rearview mirror, peeping at the big boss seated in the backseat who was beginning to release a dreary air once more.
'Mr. President, can you please stop being a human air-conditioner? At this point, even the heater won't work! Besides, it is no big deal if I die from your dreariness, but if it affects the former Mrs. President and her child, then Mrs. President would definitely hate you even more!'
Xia Zhetao had always been cautious and conscientious ever since he started working as a secretary, and he certainly needed to worry a lot about his boss's romantic relationship.
Fortunately, Zhao Youlin shielded him, so Joy did not feel uncomfortable. After finishing the cake bought by Xia Zhetao, Joy started to feel drowsy.

Zhao Youlin glanced at the sleepy Joy, and with a soft smile, she said, "Are you sleepy? Just sleep, Mommy is here."
Hearing Zhao Youlin's soothing words, Joy's eyelids finally fluttered close while he drifted to sleep in Zhao Youlin's embrace.
Concerned about the child in the car, Xia Zhetao drove slowly but steadily, so when the car reached Zhao Youlin's neighborhood, it was already close to 10 pm.
Zhao Youlin thanked Xia Zhetao and opened the car door, but she immediately shivered when she felt the strong difference in temperature.
Zhao Youlin subconsciously tightened her hold on her child, took a deep breath, and stepped out of the vehicle.
Mu Tingfeng, who was keeping his focus on the lady from his place at the backseat, furrowed his eyebrows. Concern flashed in his eyes.
Zhao Youlin closed the car door with one hand, and as she started to walk away, she felt a sudden warmth covering her cold shoulders.
Zhao Youlin subconsciously turned around, and only then did she see Mu Tingfeng walking out from the car, wearing only a thin shirt, as for his suit jacket...
Zhao Youlin looked down at her shoulders and was surprised it was draped on her body.
As Zhao Youlin was looking down, Mu Tingfeng swiftly got back in the car. Closing the door with a bang, he growled, "Drive."
Xia Zhetao jumped in his seat. He promptly started the car and drove away.
Zhao Youlin was left behind, standing there carrying her child with the jacket draped on her. She felt confused. This man was really… unfathomable.
Meanwhile, when the car was a distance away, Xia Zhetao sneakily peeked at the rearview mirror and saw that there was a stiff expression on Mu Tingfeng's face, and that really shocked him.
'Is Mr. President… embarrassed?! My goodness! I-I... seem to have discovered some incredible thing, at this rate would will I be able to live until I can safely marry a woman?!'
After a whole night of partying, the birthday celebration for the old master was finally over. The handbag that Zhao Youlin had left behind at the Zhao family house was personally sent back to her on the second day, and it was done by two people she had least expected.

The sky was clear outside, and the sun was halfway up in the sky. It was almost noon.
After the struggles of the event last night, she still helped Joy to get cleaned up and changed his clothes before they went to sleep. Both mother and child were beyond exhausted, hence, even though they usually woke up early and sometimes went out for a morning jog together, today, they did not wake up even at this hour.
When Zhao Youlin woke up, sunlight was already creeping through the curtains of her bedroom, shining on her body that was lying on the big bed.
Zhao Youlin moved about, slowly opening her eyes while her hand reached out to block the sunlight shining on her face.
While sleepy, she felt movement on her waist, so she looked down, only to find her child curled to her side, clinging on to her waist tightly like a koala.
Feeling the slightly blinding sunlight, the child wriggled in discomfort while trying hard to hide in Zhao Youlin's arms, hoping to block out the annoying sun.
Zhao Youlin smiled and pulled down the blanket, revealing the round little head of her child. She reached out to bop his little nose and called out to him softly, "Hey little piggy, time to wake up."
Joy was still fast asleep, his cute little nose breathing in a steady pattern even with Zhao Youlin's finger poking it. It made him really resemble a nursing piglet.
Zhao Youlin laughed in amusement, having such an adorable little son really made her feel like she could face all difficulties. As expected, having adorable little children was a blessing.
"Hey, little piggy, if you don't wake up, Mommy will give all the yogurt I bought yesterday to Sparta." Zhao Youlin's poking finger turned to give the little nose a squeeze.
The child trashed around sluggishly due to the difficulties in breathing, and when he could finally breathe freely, a threat from above made him anxious.
Not bothering with his eyelids that were fighting to be opened, he felt his way up Zhao Youlin's body, clinging onto her neck and started to whine, "No no, I want to drink it, Sparta would have an upset tummy if it drank it."
Indeed, only food could attract the attention of foodies! Zhao Youlin was amused and while carrying Joy, she said, "Then, you should wash up quickly, or else Sparta would eat all of the delicious food here!"
"Mhm mhm," Joy subconsciously replied while groggily rubbing his eyes.
Zhao Youlin carried Joy to the bathroom, and after both mother and child had washed up, Zhao Youlin made some simple millet porridge while also placing a bottle of yogurt on the table.
Joy stared at the yogurt with wide eyes and gulped in difficulty. Looking at her child, Zhao Youlin was not sure whether she should laugh or cry, so she said, "You can only drink the yogurt when you've finished the porridge, or your little tummy will hurt. You can't eat muffins if you have an upset tummy. Do you want an upset tummy?"
Joy hurriedly shook his head when he heard that he could not eat the muffins.
"Then, be good and eat up," said Zhao Youlin while peeling a quail egg and dropping it in Joy's bowl.
Joy's eyes brightened and finally, he stopped staring at the bottle of yogurt.
While the two were enjoying their breakfast, a sudden ring of the doorbell startled Zhao Youlin. Almost immediately, her phone rang, so she answered, "Hello, who is this?"
After a moment, a familiar voice sounded from the other side of the phone. "Youlin, it's me."

Age of Regression
[Author's Thoughts] Dropped, obviously. Still, it's my first attempt at a novel and I do love what I did with it. Big step towards learning. Far in the past, there was a civilization much more advanced than the one of modern times. Evidence of that time remains, but it is all but shrouded in mystery as there remains no way to decipher it. Currently, normal individuals wage war with guns and smaller machinery, but those who can wield a higher power vary in their abilities. Scales, born upon humans, are a mystery in their origins but are the source of their abilities and their way towards advancement. Although normally powerless, humans have adapted to the scales and thus can connect with the power of the universe, much like the other races that inhabit its various corners. In one of these corners, there exists a human settlement where Lancing follows his father's footsteps to begin his own ascent to power. However, he finds he is far different from his gifted father, whose scales below his eyes were among the purest ever seen, reaching gem-like quality. Far from perfect, Lancing shows no desire to give up and ceaselessly moves forward to reach the peak of the universe. However, he begins to notice that the mysteries of the universe slowly begin to unravel in front of his eyes. To reach the heavens, Lancing must carve his own path.

Author's note:This is an old version that has been completely dropped in favor of a new and better version. I have learned a lot from written this instance, but I believe the work has been subpar and I can do much better with the story and the premise I have devised. I will be posting the new version on a different page.
