Fierce Ex-wife: President, Please Be Careful Chapter 221

Xia Zhetao could not hold back his panicked thoughts. He smiled and said, "President, why do you suddenly want to smile? Ugh, I didn't mean that you don't look good when you smile. I just think that you're also very handsome when you don't smile. Why do you suddenly…" 'Gave up on your treatment?'
As soon as Xia Zhetao said those words, Mu Tingfeng's movement of ravaging the corners of his mouth finally softened. The two fingers pushing the corners of his mouth finally lived up to expectations and were put down.
Xia Zhetao heaved a sigh of relief. When he was about to continue inquiring, he heard someone said in distress, "Youlin doesn't like it."
"Huh?" Xia Zhetao was stunned, and he was unable to come back to his senses for a while.
"Youlin doesn't like it, and I'll scare the child," Mu Tingfeng repeated his words, making Xia Zhetao sure that what he had just heard was not his imagination.
So, the reason why the president was this dedicated to facial rehabilitation was entirely because of the former Mrs. President?
As expected, when he met the former Mrs. President last time, her words had left an indelible scar in the president's heart.
One must say that Xia Zhetao finally guessed it correctly this time.
In fact, Zhao Youlin had already complained about Mu Tingfeng's expressionless face more than once. But the last time he met her, she said something that hit his soft spot.
She said, "Let me tell you. If you want to remarry with me, you must first satisfy my son. Otherwise, there is nothing to be discussed. With your expressionless face that never smiles, Joy cries whenever he sees you. How are we going to live in the same house in the future?"
He could not even satisfy his son, let alone his son's mother.

So, Mu Tingfeng pondered for a long time and decided to start with his face. At least, he should not scare the child, make the child not reject him, or even like him.
Secretary Xia, who finally figured out the cause of the president's unusual behavior, felt like crying. 'President, don't you think that you're headed in the wrong direction?
'The focus of the former Mrs. President that day was clearly your mistress who is already three months pregnant.'
However, it was really unexpected to know that the president would do such a thing when he fell in love. The president who did not care about anything previously was able to sacrifice so much for the former Mrs. President. It was really touching.
Even a man like him could not help but shed tears when he heard this.
He even felt a bit of dissatisfaction toward the president because of this just now. He was simply worse than a beast.
"I see. Then you have to work hard, President. If you don't understand, I'll teach you."
Mu Tingfeng looked at Xia Zhetao's overly enthusiastic appearance and raised his eyebrows. "You want me to increase your salary?"
"No need. No need." Xia Zhetao patted his chest and smiled while showing his white teeth. "I'll teach you for free. Don't worry, I won't mislead you."
Mu Tingfeng's eyes slightly darkened, and a light flashed in his eyes. He threw the other set of documents to the front of Xia Zhetao and said concisely, "Then go and check for me what kind of flowers Youlin likes now."
The smile on Xia Zhetao's face instantly froze. He extended his hand and took the documents. When he opened it, he saw the blue roses which were once again thrown in the dustbin.
He was speechless.
The forehead of Xia Zhetao was suddenly cold sweating. He held the documents and said while smiling, "Well, President, can I ask a question?"

"Sure."
"If I don't complete this task, what will happen to me?"
Mu Tingfeng glanced at him deeply. "What else could happen to you? I'll deduct your salary."
Xia Zhetao was speechless.
Xia Zhetao's face became completely stiff. He was silent for a while before looking at Mu Tingfeng bitterly. "President, can I take back what I just said?"
"Take back what?"
"About not needing to increase my salary…"
Mu Tingfeng suddenly raised his head, and his pursed lips twitched. "What do you think?"
Xia Zhetao was speechless. The president was still very scary.
'All right, President, I admit that I shouldn't have asked you to continue to work hard against my conscience. If this goes on, not only your son, but you'll also be scared to the point of crying by yourself. With your current appearance, you'll only be kicked out of the house if you meet the former Mrs. President.'
Xia Zhetao cried in his mind for a while. Finally, he cheered up and said in a serious tone, "Uh, President, can I ask another question before I go to investigate this thing?"
Mu Tingfeng raised his head and glanced at him, signaling him to say it quickly.
"It's… uh… um, what's the matter with the mistress that Ms. Zhao mentioned last time? And… is that woman really pregnant?"
Mu Tingfeng looked at Xia Zhetao, who could not hide his curiosity, and snorted coldly, "Secretary Xia, it's none of your business."
When Xia Zhetao heard those words, his neck felt a chill running up. He swallowed his saliva with difficulty and righteously said, "President, you can't say that. You have to know your opponent to win. It's not good to hide your mistakes. Now that we're planning to capture Ms. Zhao's heart again, we must find out the crux of Ms. Zhao's indifference to you. If you don't tell me anything, it'll be difficult for me."
Mu Tingfeng's EQ was not high, but this did not mean that his IQ was not high as well. The curiosity in Xia Zhetao's eyes could not be hidden from him.
The corners of his lips that had returned to normal twitched again. He said something that was as scary as his smile, "If I'm not mistaken, a longtime employee like you not only has a bonus at the end of the year, but you will also get small dividends from the company."
Secretary Xia, who saw the weird demonic smile once again, wanted to cry now. "Don't, don't. President, I'm sorry. I'll shut up. I'll shut up. I'll shut up now."
'I was wrong. I was wrong from the beginning. I got it completely wrong. I shouldn't be spoiled and ask about his private affairs just because I've helped the president a little bit. I also shouldn't step on his landmines insensitively. The most important thing is that I shouldn't expose the president's unhealed scar at this time.
'But President, don't you know that your reactions made it even obvious?
'You're so secretive about this mistress. It is obvious that you feel guilty about it.
'Is it possible that the things that I thought before are true? The president, whom I have been working hard for, is actually a jerk who cheated on his wife? Such a contrast is a dealbreaker for your reconciliation.
'No, I must find an opportunity to inquire about this information with the president's mother.' Secretary Xia, who was determined, had a fire in his eyes as he wanted to get gossippy.

Big fantasy worlds. Multiple cultures, lots of characters, many different types of magic--this story is expansive rather than closely focused on a narrow storyline. Progression fantasy that takes its time. Our main character will be progressing through magical ranks, but this is going to be a lengthy story. If you're more about the journey than the destination, this might be the book for you. [participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge]

Follow this entity on it's journey through the galaxy, as it stumbles upon one mess after another and tries to find its purpose in this vast galaxy. This is my own little star wars fantasy and wish fulfilment so don't come expecting overly complex plots and fully fleshed out galaxy. Hopefully I will be able to make this fun. Also I won't be decribing the species often, so you're going to have to look them up yourself. There are just too many to constantly be describing them beyond their garb.

Aeternalis
One born of nothingness. A world born of everything. To return all to nothing. Or surrender to everything. A man born into an infinite world, trying to find his path to the top. Trials and tribulations come from friends and foes alike until all bow before him. ------------------------------------- Author here! This is my 3rd story on RoyalRoad, the other two having long since been dropped years ago. They were a mess of ideas and had no real substanence to them, leading me to begin hating writing them and eventually just stop writing altogether for about a year and a half. Finally, after reading hundreds of thousands of pages of novels, from low fantasy to sci-fi litrpg's to thousands of pages long xianxias, I finally feel ready to write a real story that isn't a cesspool of ideas blended together. I plan to see this out to the end, as I already have the first few major arcs planned out unlike my other stories where I thought of ideas as I wrote. This story takes place in a world with a litrpg system, as per tags. This isn't a VRMMO or Reincarnation story. The main character exists in and is from said world. There are some differences from other litrpg's which will be explained in author notes in the few few chapters. I plan to publich 6-7 chapters a week, each 2-3k words long. If i fail to do so I will create a back-log I have to eventually make up but as of writing this it's the summer for me so I'll have plenty of time to write. Enjoy, and welcome to the world of Aeternalis.

Greys II - Ghosts
There he stood, dark eyes, dark hair, beautiful in the most devastating of ways. It scared me how little he had changed, his hair was longer and black, his frame thinner, like he hadn't eaten since I last saw him. His eyes were different, lacking something they had always held before, lacking anything really, and yet he was the same. He looked weak, but I knew he wasn't. "Hi, angel."His voice was just as dead as his eyes. It sent a shiver up my spine. That was the reason I felt sick, that was the reason he seemed different. He was dead, and as much as I wanted to hate him, I was sad he was empty, sad he wasn't the same man anymore."Hello, Gabriel."My voice came out softer than I would have liked, the words burning my tongue. But it didn't matter, I got the desired effect even if the volume wasn't there. He flinched, his eyes widening, his eyebrows twitching up and together, his jaw setting for just a moment. But then it was gone and he looked away, death settling back in his eyes, in the lines of his face.» ✦ «#2 in Angel Romance#3 in Demonology#11 in Thriller#Mature, 18+ for all the reasons.
