Fierce Ex-wife: President, Please Be Careful Chapter 231

The pursuer got a shock. By the time he returned to his senses and was ready to shoot, it was already too late.
Zhao Youlin agilely wrapped her hand around his gun, grabbed his wrist and twisted it downward mercilessly.
The man immediately cried out in pain. His hand lost its strength and let go of the trigger.
Zhao Youlin turned her hand and grabbed his gun. Then, she turned around and used her hand to strike the man's neck nimbly.
The man widened his eyes before they were completely closed. His tall and sturdy body fell down limply, and he fainted.
After settling the crisis, Zhao Youlin heaved a sigh of relief. She skillfully tried out the gun in her hands. Then, she reached for the man's chest and took out a magazine loaded with bullets. She put them inside her pocket, and she surveyed the surroundings.
The gunshots have attracted the rest to come to her side. She had to lure them to another place as soon as possible.
Thinking of this, Zhao Youlin decisively ran in the opposite direction, away from where Su Ruixin was.
Su Ruixin's expression changed when she heard footsteps coming toward her from afar. She stretched out her hand to cover her mouth in order to prevent herself from making noises due to her panic. This would attract those people to come over to her.
When Su Ruixin heard the sound of the footsteps approaching, she felt her heart caught in her throat. Just then, an abrupt gunshot was heard in the opposite direction.
The pursuers paused mid-stride. They turned back and went in the direction where the sound of the gunshot came from.
Su Ruixin could not help but heave a sigh of relief after hearing their footsteps were fading. Soon, she became worried, 'The sound of the gunshot just now…'

Zhao Youlin had purposely released that shot. As expected, the sound of the gunshot had attracted the pursuers over.
Zhao Youlin hid in a more secluded hideout before those people found her. Then, she held the gun, closed her eyes, held her breath, and listened to the footsteps in order to determine the number of people.
'One, two, three… There are six people in total.'
Zhao Youlin opened her eyes. She rose up and quickly shot twice in a direction not far away from her.
Right after the gunshot rang out, two people were screaming in pain. Zhao Youlin had shot them accurately. The two shots had hit two people's shoulders. Although they did not die on the spot, they had completely lost their fighting ability. Now, they could not even help themselves up, let alone hold guns.
After hitting the two with one shot each, Zhao Youlin naturally did not stay in place to be their shooting target. She immediately rolled over and hid behind a big tree opposite her.
As soon as Zhao Youlin regained her balance, within her expectation, she heard several gunshots from behind.
After the sound of gunfire died down, Zhao Youlin once again poked her head out, and she fired a few shots in the direction she had fired just now.
Unfortunately, those people were already well-prepared this time. Although Zhao Youlin had fired several gunshots, she only managed to hit one person.
Zhao Youlin snorted. She took out the empty magazine and reloaded. After that, she continued to look for a secluded hiding place.
With the previous events, the remaining pursuers became even warier. They slowly approached Zhao Youlin.
Zhao Youlin waited for the person closest to her to approach her before she abruptly lunged out from behind the tree.
Then, she opened fire at the pursuers in mid-air. The gunshots rang throughout the entire woods once again.

Zhao Youlin rolled over the ground several times before she rolled into the lush bushes.
At that moment, she was only left with one bullet. There was one more pursuer left. In other words, she must hit him in just one shot. Otherwise, there would be no chance of survival.
Just when Zhao Youlin was thinking about how to improve the accuracy of her final shot within the bushes. She heard noisy footsteps coming from not far away.
"Where is she?"
"Somewhere nearby."
"Hurry up! If we don't kill her here, we're the ones who'll get killed when we go back!"
When Zhao Youlin heard their exchange, she gritted her teeth so hard that she almost broke her teeth, 'Darn it! They have reinforcements!'
If they were left with only one person, she stood a high chance of prevailing against him. However, there were many people surrounding her now. She could die a violent death at any time.
Zhao Youlin bit her lips tightly. Her heartbeat skipped like never before as she stared at the pursuers approaching her.
First step, second step, third step...
Just when Zhao Youlin was almost certain about her death, a big, cool hand reached over from the side, held her hand strongly and covered her mouth.
Zhao Youlin was caught off guard. She was about to struggle when she heard an attractive yet familiar voice in her ear, "Don't move, it's me."
Zhao Youlin's entire body stiffened. She widened her eyes and looked incredulously at the man who was not supposed to be here.
The man slowly let go of his hand to uncover Zhao Youlin's mouth when she no longer struggled.
Zhao Youlin blinked her eyes as if she had snapped out of a daze. She whispered to him, "Why are you here?"
She was right. How could a man whom she had never thought of, Mu Tingfeng, appear right beside her at this moment?
Mu Tingfeng looked deeply into Zhao Youlin's eyes. His eyes were filled with emotions that Zhao Youlin could not figure out. She did not say anything.
At that moment, no one knew better than himself the reason why he was here.
Early in the morning, just like Zhao Youlin, Mu Tingfeng had taken his car and prepared to go to work.
Little did he know that no sooner after his car had left the Mu family's villa, he received a call from another driver.
That driver told him that Madam Mu had abandoned him and taken another car instead. From his narration, Mu Tingfeng keenly sensed that his mother could have boarded the Zhao family's car. In fact, it was most likely Zhao Youlin's car.
However, all this was the least important. Most importantly, apart from the Mu family's car who had been following behind Zhao Youlin's car, there were a few cars following her as well. One of those cars had even rammed into their car.
Words could not describe how Mu Tingfeng had felt when he heard the news. He immediately called Xia Zhetao and told him the entire story. After that, he ignored Xia Zhetao's advice, and he hung up. He asked his driver to drive him to this place.
The moment he got out of the car, he saw the deformed car as a result of the car crash and later, he heard the gunshots coming from the woods. Mu Tingfeng felt a bone-chilling coldness in the blood of his entire body.
'Who got hit by this gunshot? Is it my mother or… her?'

Ætla Verǫld
AV Online was just a flash in the pan—a harsh, experimental land which lost most of its players in mere weeks. Only the dedicated few remained, carving out their destinies in corners of the vast abandoned world. Lily Quinn wasn't one of them. With a career worth millions in the esports world, she didn't have time for a game like Avo—but when an exclusive beta test for the new version showed up on her doorstep, she couldn't say no… as much as she wanted to. Literally hooked into the simulation, Lily reluctantly entered a world beyond anything she'd ever dreamed of. Accompanied by seven other beta testers desperate to save their beloved game, Lily dives into a vibrant, beautiful world, where mystery and adventure waits around every corner. Despite her reservations, Lily finds a joyful escape in Avo, shattering her cold, hollow reality. It was just a game though… until the group discovered they couldn't log out. Trapped in a game with no rules, and surrounded by cutthroat players eager to kill for a quick windfall, Lily and her ragged band have no choice but to fight their way out, or die in a game that has turned all too real. Hi there! I'm setting off on yet another adventure, come join me :3 Unusually for me, there's only one perspective this time, and it's quite a bit more action-oriented than I usually write. Don't worry, though: everything's still as character-driven as always, and I never get tired of writing dialogue. Just to acknowledge it up front: this story is heavily inspired by EVE Online and the many stories generated by that world. However, since this is a fantasy setting, not sci-fi, don't expect any real parallels. Chapter publish rate for this one will be whenever I write them, as with Epilogue. I don't expect to move as fast here though, since it's not for NaNo. The plan is chapters somewhere in the 4k-5k range, and hopefully frequently. The Last Science takes priority as always though. Special thanks to Reaver and Ace Arriande for pushing me to get this going, and to all my fellow writers whom I've stolen from been inspired by. You're all wonderful people and I love you Quick reminder: Patrons get to read ahead of what's published! Also, try my other works: The Last Science — A Tale of Modern Magic Epilogue — A Post-Fantasy Psychodrama What are you still doing on the synopsis? Get to reading!
