The Summoner is Going Chapter 167
Translation: Charlotte
Editor: Weasalopes
The time was 5 pm.
Our party was finally over.
Almost everyone had gotten themselves accommodation in Remut, so there were no issues there.
Great.
But what else was there for me to do?
I realised that without a task from Master, I was pretty lost.
A downside to being so free, I suppose.
I could go to the Wind Spirit Village?
I had to either be there or in Remut for the gemstones I gave to Margrid.
But from the Wind Spirit Village, I could at least explore and fight tougher monsters easier.
But before that.
I decided to head to Master’s house.
He did say I could use everything in there as I pleased.
Right?
I’d better make use of the opportunity
I left Remut and used【Return Home.】
All my log-ins and log-outs had been in Instant Portals, after all.
I had a hunch it would send me to Master’s house.
「Return Home!」
The scenery changed in just a moment.
I was suddenly in front of Master’s house.
Wow.
No problems, huh.
【Instant Portal】is a really convenient spell…
I realised it would let me explore as far as I wanted, while still keeping an Area Portal as my base.
Way too convenient.
I walked down to Master’s workshop and looked around for stuff I could use.
I grabbed some Magic Mushrooms and Paingrass. Mana potion ingredients.
Some Healgrass too…
I took the opportunity to grab some bottles as well.
My《Item Box》had plenty of space.
Wait, how much space exactly?
My Racial was at Lv.17.
With my Rabid Horse Belt included, that meant +1, so 18…
The storage capacity in an《Item Box》would be 18 squared… 324.
And since I had two of them, that meant 648 total, huh.
Almost twice that of when I was at Lv.12.
I could fit quite a bit in there.
After taking the ingredients, I left Master’s house.
It was still bright outside.
I wanted to get as much distance as possible with Zangetsu before the sun set.
I summoned my usual team, prioritising mobility.
I already had Volff.
I just had to summon Zangetsu, Helix, Obsidian, and Heather.
「Well then, I’ll get going.」
I said goodbye to Magi Owl, and Magi Owl spread its wings in response.
Magi Owl flew over and started playing with Obsidian.
Yep.
I guess I could take my time too.
Covering distance with Zangetsu was easy.
I had【Forest Walk】too, so even galloping in the forest was no issue.
The monsters were also acting just like usual.
Looked like the event didn’t affect monsters.
I took a short break when I reached the Forest Maze.
I replaced Helix with Bunraku to cook dinner.
Just a light one though. I had lunch pretty late, after all.
For the first time in a long time, I also gave some honey to Volff and Heather.
I only meant to give them a little bit at first.
But I felt like spoiling Heather and Volff once in a while too.
I gave them some more, and in no time, I was out of honey.
Looking at their sad faces made me sad too.
I had another unopened jar, but I decided against it.
There was no limit to their greed, after all.
After feeding myself, I recalled Bunraku and summoned Ninetails.
As expected, there weren’t that many players around.
I kept moving through the maze.
Both the mushrooms and the Branch Golems were no match for me on Zangetsu.
I kept moving.
I was looking for stronger enemies.

After passing through the cave filled with Skeletons, I arrived in W2.
It was already evening.
Oh well…
I got off of Zangetsu.
But I wasn’t about to give up on my goal of reaching the Wind Spirit Village before the day was over.
Encountering monsters was really inevitable.
I took the opportunity and changed up my team so I could level-up some of my Summon Monsters.
Jean, Mumyo, Tigris, Zuiun, and Loewe.
Oh!
Mumyo’s was already holding the Hammer of Roars.
Totally forgot.
I had high hopes for Mumyo.
There was also something else I was looking forward to with Mumyo.
The Class Change.
Since Mumyo reached Lv.7 I haven’t been using him for anything except fighting practice though.
I didn’t expect a level-up right away.
There was my lion Loewe too.
I would love a level-up before I arrived in the village.
I was definitely in W2.
It was a place I hadn’t seen in a long time.
The first monster I saw was a Float Eye.
Next was a Skeleton Raptor.
And a flock of Haunted Mists.
It was their way of welcoming me back, I suppose.
The first thing I wanted to check out was Mumyo’s new equipment.
But I was surprised to see Mumyo take out a Skeleton Raptor on his own.
Wow…
With just a single blow from the hammer, the Skeleton Raptor was blown away.
Well, because of that, I couldn’t really see Loewe’s strength.
I was still prioritising movement, so I didn’t spend too much time hunting.
I opted for using【Call Monster】to call swarms of Haunted Mists instead.
Looking at the map, I noticed the village was still far away.
The moon and the stars suddenly disappeared.
They were hidden behind a veil of clouds.
I used【Magnetic Compass】to find my way and kept going.
It was subtle, but the situation still felt a bit different.
There were a lot of Skeleton Raptors.
Although they were often alone, so it was pretty easy to deal with them.
The problem was with the Float Eyes.
They tended to group up a lot.
It was good experience, but there were a few times when I got worried for Zuiun.
Well, Zuiun did make it out of each fight alive.
Loewe was already capable of taking on Skeleton Raptors on his own.
I thought Loewe would still be too weak for something like that, but he could manage with sheer brute force.
Tigris, maybe after seeing Loewe, adopted a similar strategy.
Lions or tigers…
The two Summon Monsters were definitely similar.
But I understood that they had their own quirks that would come into play in different situations.
I left thinking about it in detail for later.
Something more important came up.
《Summon Monster『Loewe』Level Up!》
《Please put one point into a desired stat.》
A level-up.
Nice.
The stat that went up with the level-up was STR.
I put another point into DEX.
Loewe Lion Lv1→Lv2(↑ 1)
DEX 8(↑ 1)
AGI 14
INT 11
STR 18(↑ 1)
VIT 20
SPI 13
Skills:
Bite Threaten Sense Danger Night Vision
I hadn’t gone out on a proper hunt for a long time, but Loewe was as strong as always.
He didn’t take that much damage either.
I was more worried about Zuiun.
Zuiun was good against Skeleton Raptors.
Haunted Mists too, to some degree.
But Float Eyes were just not Zuiun’s forte.
If the swarm was too big, I would thin it down together with Jean first, but still, Zuiun would take some damage from each fight.
There were a few times I thought about switching Summon Monsters.
But I had to endure.
I trusted that it was just because Zuiun’s level was still relatively low.

The time was 10:30 pm.
Looking at the map, I noticed the village wasn’t far off.
I looked up to see a fire in the distance.
I’m finally back…
The sight was strangely emotional.
There were a few parties doing some hunting too.
I couldn’t lose to them.
Might as well join them.
After using【Enchanted Weapon】on all my Summon Monsters I used【Call Monster】 .
My first target was a swarm of Haunted Mists.
My MP bar was at over 80%.
I could use spells without holding back.
I didn’t use anything more flashy than【Force Bullet】though.
If I used powerful spells, I’d end up stealing experience points from my Summon Monsters.
After taking out two more swarms, a long-awaited info screen appeared.
《【Earth Magic】Level Up!》
《You have acquired the【Earth Magic】spell【Enchanted Earth】!》
《You have acquired the【Earth Magic】spell【Pitfall】!》
Very nice.
It would’ve been nicer to get【Pitfall】in time for the tournament though!
The hunt continued.
I took out the biggest swarm of Haunted Mists with an area-of-effect spell.
C’mon!
Keep coming at me!
I still have more than half my MP bar!
Logging out with your MP bar full is a waste!
At some point, I ran into a Holy Wraith too.
But with my Summon Monsters all converging on it, it didn’t stand a chance.
Tigris and Loewe were using special attacks aided by their collars.
Of course, I contributed with my Staff of Torture too.
It used to be a tough enemy to deal with, but I managed to take care of it pretty easily.
I bet a lot of it was due to my stronger armour too.
《Summon Monster『Zuiun』Level Up!》
《Please put one point into a desired stat.》
I managed to get Zuiun to level up right before midnight.
The stat that wennt up with the level-up was SPI.
I put another point into VIT.
Zuiun Mist Lv2→Lv3(↑ 1)
DEX 3
AGI 3
INT 18
STR 1
VIT 5(↑ 1)
SPI 16(↑ 1)
Skills:
Flight Shapeshift Physical Attack Permeability MP Absorption (Slight) Dark Attribute Fire Attribute
Nice.
I managed to get 12 Magic Stones and 4 Cystal Balls too.
Pretty good, considering the number of monsters I took out.
Let’s call it a day.
It wasn’t that long since I logged out.
But I decided to log in again.
What time was it?
It was just around 6 am.
《You have received 3 pieces of information from the GMs. Do you wish to read them?》
《Your friends have sent you 10 messages.》
Wow.
What’s going on?
There were a lot of things to take care of from the morning.
For the time being, I summoned Bunraku, and gave him tools and ingredients to make breakfast.
Well then…
I decided to start from the GMs.
The first announcement was one I was already used to.
《Update: As of yesterday, the database has been updated!》
Nice.
I took a cursory look at the number of players.
It was at the bottom of the virtual window.
The number was about 60000.
Well, I was just glad the number was going up.
Maybe I could look at the Job list again…?
No… The time I had before breakfast was limited.
I left it for later.
Next.
《A request regarding videos: Please refrain from using videos as targeted attacks against individual players.》
There was a longer article attached too.
I wish I hadn’t taken the time to read it.
I am…
Innocent.
Please call a lawyer.
Wait!
What was I getting defensive about?
I wasn’t hiding anything.
I didn’t do anything wrong!
Nothing wrong, okay?
No doubt about it.
I tried my best to forget about it.
Next.
《Regarding the Tournament Best Bout: We have started accepting votes!》
Oh, this again.
I looked at the message, and realised I had the option to vote too.
But I couldn’t vote for my own matches.
I was going to vote for the final match…
But oh well.
I decided to vote for the match where Yosaku’s team was defeated.
That was quite a show.
Now, onto the messages.
Most of them were congratulatory messages.
Fiona, the other Production Job Players, Adele, Irina, Guren… Even Lambda.
There was only one message with some business.
It was from Margrid.
『I’ve got something to ask you… My master said that a silver pedestal kind of loses to the gemstone. Would platinum or mythril be alright?』
The message came with three pictures.
Yep.
I had enough to pay for all of them, but the difference between each option was massive.
Mythril was three times as expensive as the silver, and the platinum was eight times more expensive.
Well, considering the cost of the gemstone, it was probably a fair price.
I replied with a simple “I’ll leave it to you.”
If she had any issues, I was sure she would message me again.
When I finished replying to all the congratulatory messages, breakfast was ready.
Today was a sandwich along with some jerky.
For the time being, I thought about nothing as I ate my breakfast.
Forget.
I had to forget.
My whispers sounded like I was casting a spell.
After I was done, I recalled Bunraku and cleaned up.
I could maybe take on a Deva King too.
Or maybe I could just hunt in the fields of W2.
Maybe even do some exploring?
In any case, I went with my usual mobility-oriented team.
I summoned Zangetsu, Helix, Obsidian, Ninetails, and Heather.
The time was 6:30 am.
It was still too early for the meeting.
Time to kill some more time.
Maybe I could have some fun checking the database.
I pulled up the database.
The total number of players was 60000, huh?
I sorted the data by Jobs.
The number of Summoners was up to 207.
Nice.
I only saw about 60 people in the meet-up.
It was another reminder that quite a big percentage of summoners showed up.
Next.
I arranged the Jobs by least number of players.
Archer 1 Player
Elemental Sorcerer 『Fire』 1 Player
Grand Summoner 1 Player
Soldier 1 Player
Fencer 1 Player
Mage 1 Player
Glassworker 17 Players
Brewer 23 Players
Potter 26 Players
Jeweler 34 Players
Farmer 36 Players

Fisherman 66 Players
Lumberjack 78 Players
Summoner 207 Players
Alchemist 221 Players
Pharmacist 275 Players
Bard 378 Players
Weaver 455 Players
Merchant 582 Players
Wait. What???
What is this…? 1 player Jobs?
Grand Summoner… That was me, huh.
The number of class-change players was increasing…
Yep.
The game was progressing into a new age.
「The morning meeting is starting at 7 am!」
「Gather in the village square please!」
Announcements I hadn’t heard in a long time.
Already that time?
I headed towards the centre of the village.
I could decide what to do for the day during the meeting.

It was about 8:45 PM on Monday, November 15th, 2021, and I was getting ready to cross Campus Drive near the Student Services center, when unexpectedly, Lisa, my younger brothers girlfriend called out to me. I turned towards her, twisting my ankle in the process, and started to fall. I am looking at her face, I can see her eyes widening in shock in the street-lamps glow. I can see her start to scream the word “NO” when I am suddenly plunged into utmost blackness.

I don't know what to tell you; I never met a god, I never saved kids from speeding trucks, there was no email, no freak lighting storm, no dying in my sleep, no blinding white light at the end of the tunnel. I just blinked and found myself in a very different world and inside a very different body. I might have been put here to be a hero, a paragon of hope, a light for weary souls. To join other superbeings and ultra geniuses in their hypocritical crusade against the darkness…One small problem, I'm not going to be doing any of that.

At The Lions Gate
In the 20th century America reinvented itself. Devastated by depression, scarred by war, rocked by a revolution, Americans banded together to preserve their country and their freedom. They had faith in themselves, faith in one another, and for those who believed…faith in God. This novel tells the story of one American who lived through those turbulent years….years that would test his character and the character of a nation. For Josh Sanders it begins in 1935. A star athlete in school, pro football is a ticket out of poverty during the Great Depression; but when his father, a WWI veteran, is killed during a robbery, Josh’s spirit is broken, and with it his boyhood dream. To honor his father Josh joins the war effort in 1942, distinguishing himself as a fighter pilot, until a fateful decision near the end of the war changes the course of his life once again. But many years later, after a stint as a boxer and a failed marriage, Josh finds his calling…at a time when the country is at war with itself. The year is 1968. King and Kennedy have been killed, race riots are breaking out, and Vietnam has become an albatross, causing massive protests across the country. In the streets of San Francisco Josh watches a crowd of students march for peace. As a veteran he’s conflicted, toward the war and those who oppose it. But when he encounters Rosy Goldin, a spirited young protester in need of help, a voice from the past calls him to action. His good intentions are soon tested when Rosy falls in love with the fugitive anti-war activist Erick White, a young man determined to oppose the war at all costs, against the wishes of his own father. Fearful of what happens to Rosy, Josh confronts Erick, unwilling to be part of his plan to escape…until he meets the boy’s father. A high-powered criminal attorney, Karl White is also a flag-waving patriot demanding that his son follow the law. But as White makes his case Josh is jolted by a painful war-time memory, a crisis of conscience that will soon determine the fate of Rosy Goldin and Erick White.
