Chapter 276: 276
Chapter 276: Merplanet, Supermen Invasion
Ling Jiu did not launch an attack but quietly looked at the Merqueen. He had successfully activated Absolute Servitude, but he wanted to see the result.
To be honest, he was cautious because he had never used Absolute Servitude before.
The Merqueen gradually stopped screaming. She panted, her face pale. The first person she looked at was Ling Jiu, and she did something that surprised everyone.
The Merqueen walked up and bowed to Ling Jiu. “Master.”
Everyone was dumbfounded. The army of millions of Merpeople, stellar beings like Vulcan, and Ling Jiu’s family members such as Bai Ya, as well as Yang Ling’er, were looking at the Merqueen in disbelief.
“What’s wrong with Her Majesty? Is she under a spell or something?”
“Who can tell me what happened?”
“Why did things become like this?”
Ling Jiu ignored everyone else but looked at Merqueen with interest. “What is your name?”
“Master, my name is Isabel Millicent Jeb Aina Dart Ernestine Cobham Littigia Grant Emily Clark Bertie Cynthia Brent Beverly Allenby,” the Merqueen replied.
What kind of name was this?
Ling Jiu had no word for it. But at last, he said, “Tell me about the Merpeople.”
“Aye, Master.”
Just as the Merqueen was about to speak, a Merpeople lunged out of the Merpeople’s army to come in front of the Merqueen.
It was a human-body, octopus-tail Merpeople. It held a harpoon and stared icily at Ling Jiu as it protected the Merqueen behind it.
“Evil Earthlings! What have you done to Her Majesty?”
“Shut up!”
Ling Jiu shot a glance at the octopus Merpeople, sending it clutching its head and flying out backward, as if lightning had struck it.
This octopus Merpeople was only a level-1 stellar being. It had limited mental strength. So a Mental Attack could hurt it dearly.

At first, the other Merpeople had the same thoughts. But when they saw the horrific fate of the octopus Merpeople, they thought better of it.
The Merqueen looked on and did not stop Ling Jiu. In her mind, Ling Jiu was her above-all master, to whom she must be absolutely loyal.
So whatever Ling Jiu did was right.
“Tell me.” Ling Jiu said faintly.
“Aye, Master.”
“We Merpeople were originally a race living in Atlantis. When foreign enemies invaded us, we had no choice but to come to this planet hidden in the dark through a sea cave,” the Merqueen said slowly. “We call this planet the Merplanet.”
“Atlantis?” Ling Jiu cocked an eyebrow as the name sounded familiar. That had aroused his curiosity. “When did you arrive on Europa?”
“Europa?” The Merqueen was confused.
“I mean Merplanet.” Ling Jiu corrected himself.
“One hundred and fifty years ago,” the Merqueen replied truthfully.
“How many Merpeople and how many stellar beings are here?” Ling Jiu asked.
“The population of Merpeople is twelve billion, of which one hundred and eight are stellar beings.”
“One hundred and eight stellar beings, and you, a galactic being. No wonder you dare to lead a million troops to attack Earth.” The strength of the Merpeople surprised Ling Jiu, but he did not show his emotion on his face. “One last question: talk about Atlantis and what enemy invaded your planet.”
Speaking of Atlantis, there was a sense of nostalgia and reminiscence on the Merqueen’s face.
“Atlantis is a beautiful ocean planet. It has blue skies, beautiful oceans, and many islands. Besides, it also has six moons. It is the home planet of the Merpeople. We have over one hundred thousand years of history on Atlantis. All that changed when the invaders came.” She gritted her teeth, sadness and anger filling her eyes. “That was a group of vicious villains. They slaughtered many of our ancestors and occupied our homeland. I led a group of Merpeople remnants and fled here.”

“Were those invaders powerful?” Ling Jiu frowned slightly.
“Extremely powerful.” Speaking of the invaders, fury, with a hint of helplessness and fear, filled the Merqueen’s eyes. “They had weapons that could destroy the world. They also had terrifying power, their bodies almost indestructible, and they moved like lightning.”
Speaking of this, the Merqueen spontaneously glanced at Vulcan and others. “Those invaders look the same as you all, the Earthlings.”
“They look the same as us?”
Ling Jiu, Vulcan, and others looked at each other.
“When I first discovered you Earthlings on Mars, I thought you were the invaders. So I quietly observed you all for a long time,” the Merqueen said slowly. “Later, I even went to Earth and came into contact with you all at close range. It turned out that you all were not those invaders.”
“Can you tell me about the invaders’ abilities?” Ling Jiu asked.
The Merqueen had only briefly talked about the invaders. So Ling Jiu still had no idea of how powerful the invaders were.
“Abilities?” The Merqueen frowned. She was in thought for a while before she continued. “Those invaders can fly, as quick as light. Two, they have excellent hearing. They can even hear the faint sounds deep in the sea’s bottom if they want. Three, they have extremely self-healing ability. They can heal in a short time if they are injured. Four, their eyes can shoot out high-temperature rays, which can easily tear a stellar being apart. Five, they can see through things like seawater, and the coral reefs to capture creatures at the bottom of the sea. Six, they can breathe in air and then spit it out to form hurricanes, terrifying storms at sea, or as air cannons that can penetrate the Merpeople’s bodies at the seafloor. Besides, they also have terrifying speed, the power to destroy the world, and impenetrable defensive capability.”
Ling Jiu, Vulcan, and others gasped with perturbation as they listened to what the Merqueen said.
Judging by what she said, those invaders had a broad range of abilities, all of which were of the physique. This meant that their strength lay with their bodies.
The only thing was, their physical strength seemed to be unbelievably powerful.
“So what level of being are those invaders?” Ling Jiu asked again.
“What level?” The Merqueen frowned. “Galactic beings. They are galactic beings, ones that are much more powerful than us. And…”
“And what?” Ling Jiu’s brows were knitted together.
“And the most unacceptable thing about those invaders is their growth rate. A juvenile invader only needs twenty years to reach adulthood. Once it reaches adulthood, it is already a stellar being. Many of those stellar beings with the best talents can easily become galactic beings.” The Merqueen sounded depressed. “They don’t even need to practice self-cultivation. They only need to grow up naturally to become stellar and galactic beings. I have returned to Atlantis three times to find out about the invaders in the past one hundred and fifty years. They call themselves Kryptonians.”

Follow along on their adventures for; the friends they make, the enemies they slay, and the questions they seek to answer. Thank you for reading, as always. ^.^ Afterword: Hello there everyone, and welcome back those that have already read the first story. If you are new, don't worry too much about the first step of the series. Truly, this second part aims to cover most of what was done there. Those that have read it will know a few secrets and plot points before we see them. Though it shouldn't detract from your reading of this one. Honestly, the first one was a bit rough, but do as you will. I will warn that this will tackle some serious topics and might end up getting rather explicit in terms of what is done or seen by the characters. There is a bit to cover, so I'll explain what I can between chapters without overloading anyone, hopefully. -Cover Art drawn by Cozie [participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge]

Branches scraped her face and her arms, her body burning hot; but cold from her sweat as the wind blew over her skin. Her pants soaked from running through the streams, her shirt ripped to shreds around her stomach from very low hanging branches. Her hair, a tumbling fiery mess of tangles, and waves slipping through the ponytail she had quickly fastened trying to tame her wild hair. Running and crawling on the ground through the forest floor, trying to get back to the camp grounds so Whhooossshhhh! All of a sudden a giant gust of wind flew past her nearly lifting her off the ground and throwing her into a tree. Where in the world did that wind come from? She thought, but she kept running like it had never happened. She jumped over a fallen log, ignoring the fact that she almost fell in the process. She zoomed past all the trees and sprinted over the roots coming out of the ground. She rounded another tree coming to a sudden halt at seeing him standing there with a drink in his hand laughing and joking. She stood there wondering how in the world he could have beaten her here; He looked at her then, He looked, well, handsome, his faced was clean shaven and his button up shirt was all unbuttoned minus the three at the bottom. She could still visibly see his bronze chest and the top of his ripped-hard abs. He walked over to her and smiled, showing all of his teeth, the smile reaching his eyes. His eyes were dark and stormy, their color was usually a nice honey brown but now his eyes looked mid-night black. They looked like they could kill a man at eighty paces, but could sweep a woman off her feet at the same time.
