Chapter 282: Capture the Supermen, Highly Efficient
Atlantis was a beautiful planet, the surface of which was entirely covered by seawater. There was almost no land except for islands dotting the globe. It was truly a water planet.
“Leoux, have you found the Kryptonians?” Ling Jiu asked.
“Found it.”
Leoux said with a smile, “Maybe because the Kryptonians have just arrived on this planet not long ago, there are few of them—less than a thousand, and they are relatively concentrated. Most of them gathered in the southern hemisphere. They are easy to find.”
“Take me there.”
Ling Jiu’s eyes were gleaming with excitement. Ender Leoux’s guidance, he teleported towards the Kryptonian settlement.
A few minutes later, the two arrived at the outermost island, which was small and only a few square kilometers.
It was a beautiful island covered with greenery. In the middle of the island stood a splendid villa.
The style of this villa differed from that of on Earth. It was backed by the forest and facing the ocean. Apparently, the owner of this villa knew how to enjoy life.
That was exactly what happened right now.
A brawny man with a bronzed body was lying on the lounge chair, basking in the sun in front of the villa.
He was close to two meters tall, his body well-built with muscles even bigger than that of those bodybuilding champions who took tons of drugs to grow their muscles.
Ling Jiu could sense an aura that was no less powerful than that of any Merpeople elder emanating from this Kryptonian.
He was apparently a galactic being.
“I meet a galactic being as soon as I arrive. The Kryptonians are truly powerful.”
Ling Jiu quietly exclaimed in awe and then revealed himself.
This Kryptonian was highly alert. When he noticed Ling Jiu’s presence, he opened his eyes, spotting him in an instant. A faint coercion force hit Ling Jiu’s body.
“Who are you?” The Kryptonian shouted in a deep voice.
Ling Jiu did not understand the language that Kryptonian was speaking, and he did not have to because he had no intention of communicating with him.
Ling Jiu moved so quickly that he appeared in front of the Kryptonian and punched him in the face before he knew it.
However, the Kryptonian was tough. The Ling Jiu could blow the head of a Merpeople elder with a punch, but he could only knock out the Kryptonian.

“His head is really hard.” Ling Jiu sighed. “I will leave him to you. You know what to do, don’t you?”
“You got it. Don’t worry.” Leoux smiled and released the Leoux to capture the Kryptonian.
Ling Jiu did not rush to other islands to find more Kryptonians. Instead, he lay on the lounge chair and basked in the sun.
You could not make bricks without straw. He had to study the Kryptonian first before he made another move. Leoux did not disappoint. Ten minutes later, Leoux spoke to Ling Jiu telepathically.
“It’s done, Ling Jiu.”
“Tell me,” Ling Jiu said lightly.
“The Kryptonians who came to Atlantis were just a part of the Kryptonians. One hundred and fifty years ago, the core of Krypton, the Kryptonian home planet, collapsed, leading to the destruction of Krypton. So these people left Krypton,” Leoux said. “Then, after wandering around, they finally came to Atlantis. At that time, there were only sixteen of them.”
“Only sixteen of them defeated the Merpeople?” Ling Jiu was shocked.
“Exactly. The sixteen Kryptonians are all elite warriors, powerful galactic beings.” Leoux continued, “After they came to Atlantis, they killed many galactic beings of Merpeople and eventually occupied the entire Atlantis. They built their new home here and called it New Krypton.”
“New Krypton?” Ling Jiu raised his eyebrows. “Where are the sixteen people now?”
“The sixteen Kryptonians are the most powerful and respected people of New Krypton. They are called the sixteen Kryptonians patriarchs. These sixteen Kryptonians live on the sixteen largest islands of New Krypton. All Kryptonians on this planet are offspring,” Leoux said.
Ling Jiu nodded slightly. “How many stellar and galactic beings are on Krypton now?”
Ling Jiu was more concerned about this compared with the invasion process of the Kryptonians.
“There are over 1,300 Kryptonians on New Krypton. Seven hundred and eighty-four of them are stellar beings, sixty-eight galactic beings, and the rest are children,” Leoux replied.
“Seven hundred and eighty-four stellar beings, and sixty-eight galactic beings?”
There was shock in Ling Jiu’s eyes. There were only 1,300 people, but so many stellar and galactic beings.
The Kryptonians are ridiculously powerful. How strong would they be if there were as many Kryptonians as there were humans on Earth?
“What an incredible species.” Ling Jiu was in awe.
“Kryptonians are indeed powerful. But they have a low fertility rate. It is impossible for their number to grow to become like that on Earth until after a few thousand years,” Leoux said. “From this point of view, the Kryptonians are actually inferior to Earthlings as their fertility rate is too low.”

“Maybe.” Ling Jiu stood up. “Let’s catch some more Kryptonians. By the way, what did you do with that captured Kryptonian?”
“I did what you told me: erase his memory, and then implant a new thinking to turn him into an errand boy,” Leoux explained, then released the Kryptonian. When the Kryptonian saw Ling Jiu, he submitted himself to him. “Master.”
Ling Jiu was happy with his attitude. He then sent the Kryptonian to plant trees on the floating island with the wave of his hand.
The Kryptonian faithfully carried out Ling Jiu’s orders, and had planted dozens of super arcana trees in just a few minutes.
Ling Jiu was happy with the result. At the speed of this Kryptonian planting trees, he could at least plant tens of thousands of trees a day. Not only that, the Kryptonian required no rest.
If there were dozens or even hundreds of such Kryptonians, they could fully assume the heavy responsibility of planting trees and afforestation.
With this thought in mind, Ling Jiu was champing at the bit to capture more Kryptonians. He came to the first island under Leoux’s guidance.
This island was much larger than the previous one. Among the 20 or 30 Kryptonians living on it, there was one galactic being.
Ling Jiu did not hesitate. He first dealt with the galactic being, then captured other Kryptonians—adults and children alike.
He handed them all over to Leoux, who modified and turned them into errand boys.
The two immediately left the island and came to the third one. On this island, Ling Jiu hit a wall for the first time because he encountered an extremely powerful Kryptonian, who was old but exuded an extremely terrifying aura.
Even Ling Jiu, a Saiyan Golden Ape avatar, was quaking in his boots. This opponent was too terrifying.
“Don’t go head-on,” Ling Jiu murmured, planning to leave quietly. But this old Kryptonian had still discovered Ling Jiu and chased after him.
A brutal war broke out.
The elderly Kryptonian showed unparalleled combat strength in terms of speed, strength, and defense. He crushed the Saiyan Golden Ape avatar.
After only a few encounters, the Saiyan Golden Ape avatar burped up blood and was seriously injured.
The Saiyan Golden Ape avatar had no choice but to flee into the ocean. But it still could not escape the eyes of the elderly Kryptonian.
As the Merqueen said, Kryptonians had extremely sharp eyes. They could see the fish and hear sounds—however faint—at the bottom of the deepest ocean.
Hiding at the bottom of the ocean? That was impossible.
Ling Jiu had no choice but to switch to his original form, teleported thousands of kilometers away, and finally shook off that elderly Kryptonian.
“Damn it! That was enough embarrassment.”
Ling Jiu bemoaned his bad luck. If not for the elderly Kryptonian, the hundreds of Kryptonians on the island would all fall into his hands. By then, he would have gathered enough gardeners.
“What do you plan to do next, Ling Jiu?” Leoux asked.
“I don’t have the number yet. I will not give up.” Ling Jiu snorted. “There are so many Kryptonians on this planet, there can’t be such a powerful Kryptonian on every island. Let’s pick those who are weaker.”
“Okay.”
Next, Leoux came up with the distribution map of the Kryptonians, circled the islands guarded by the powerful Kryptonians and avoided these places. Instead, they would go after those islands with weaker Kryptonians.
It turned out that Ling Jiu’s strategy worked well. He had raided a dozen islands and captured hundreds of Kryptonians in just a short time.
“That’s pretty much enough.” Ling Jiu looked at the over three hundred Kryptonians working on the floating island with elation in his eyes. Among these 300-something Kryptonians, there were 250 stellar and 17 galactic beings. The rest were Kryptonian children.
They were highly efficient at planting trees. The super arcana forest was rapidly expanding.
It would not take long before super arcana trees would fully cover the entire one-million-square-kilometer floating island. By then, the dark bio-energy produced every day on the floating island would reach a terrifying level.
Ling Jiu had run a calculation before this.
A hundred thousand super arcana trees could produce enough dark bio-energy to form a stellar core in one year.
Three hundred and sixty million super arcana trees can produce enough dark bio-energy to form a stellar core in just one day.
The current floating island covered an area of 1 million square kilometers, which could be planted with 100 million super arcana trees.
He was not far away from having 360 million super arcana trees.
“Okay, let’s go home,” Ling Jiu said. “I have got to improve my strength first before coming back to teach those Kryptonians a lesson and make a clean sweep.”

Tales From the Terran Republic
We tried, you know… We really did. We tried so hard to be… better… We actually were better once. No, seriously. We were enlightened, generous, peaceful… Stop laughing! We were! We were peaceful, dammit! No, I’m not “tugging your winglets.” It’s true! Look, if you’re going to be like that, I’ll just push the launch button right now. See ya, don’t wanna be… Oh, you ARE interested after all? Ok. Hey, I just got word that your captain will be ok. We were able to get him into a med pod quick enough… Of course, we tried to save him. Just what sort of people do you think we are?... Now that was harsh… completely accurate, mind you… but harsh. Anyway, like I was saying, we were a prosperous, peaceful people, and war had been nothing but a distant memory for over five hundred years before it happened... Before Yellowstone happened! You don’t mean to tell me that you didn’t know about that… massive supervolcano? Blew the Hell out of our planet? Two years where nothing grew?… Anyway, that’s what started it, the Sol Wars… Oh, you have heard about those, huh? Well, needless to say, all that enlightened, generous, and peaceful didn’t exactly make it through the two years of complete famine and the wars that followed… Maybe it’s more accurate to say the enlightened, generous, and peaceful among us didn’t survive… (laughs)… You’re right. It does explain a lot, doesn’t it? Probably for the best, though. “Enlightened” and “peaceful” aren’t really all that useful out here in the galaxy at large, are they? That reminds me; thanks for the ship. You guys did a great job with this one. Oh, don’t be like that. At least it was us what got you and not one of the really messed groups like the Harlequin or the Black Angels. We’re just going to take your shit. It could be worse… trust me... Well, anyway, we loaded the life pods down with some good food, and you guys can drink alcohol, right? We put in a couple of fifths in there, too. It’s about forty percent ethanol, so be warned. Most species will want to dilute that. We’ll drop your wounded off somewhere safe once they are stable. Your fleet patrols this area fairly regularly, and we’ll drop the distress beacon right before we jump… Well, It’s been fun and no hard feelings, right?… Oh, you want to know some more? Sure. I got time to kill… Let me tell you about this one pirate and her crew. They’re Terran scum, but they are still… Why do we hate the Terrans? Hoo Boy… How much time you got? *** It’s the thirty-second century, and humanity is now part of a galactic civilization comprised of hundreds of worlds. Humanity has been savaged by natural disaster and war and has been fractured into several separate populations, all of which loathe each other (some things never change). This is a gritty drama-driven rambling tale that swings between action, drama, horror, and plenty of very, very dark comedy. Warning: contains adult situations, absolutely horrible language, bathroom humor, implied ultra-violence, actual ultra-violence, drugs, alcohol, pirates, mercs, xeno prostitutes, moral ambiguity, deranged AI's with identity issues, giant commie space slugs, and a poor little frog girl who just wants to sell coffee. Updates twice weekly on Tuesday and Friday. *** Note: This story can get rough. Those warning tags? They aren't for show. I recently received a review and as a result I want to make one thing clear. Portraying something is NOT endorsing it! Many "heavy" topics are touched upon and just because a character says or does something does not imply that the author feels the same way. I selected the "Anti-Hero Lead" and "Villainous Lead" tags for a reason. Rule number one of this story is "no good guys". A good description of the story is, "bad people doing bad things to worse people". There are a few good characters, here and there, but they are the exception to the rule. If you want a hard-hitting, exciting, gritty sci-fi story that doesn't pull any punches, or shies away from "difficult" concepts, welcome! If you are set on a pure and noble knight that runs around and slays conveniently evil monsters and rescues totally innocent princesses... or your sensibilities are easily offended... You're not going to be happy with this one.
